Syntax: cast 'grease'
cast 'grease'
This spell invokes a spray of slippery Para-Elemental Ooze. If aimed at
a specific target, the wide cone of Ooze this spell produces assures that
some will land upon him or her, though a nimble target may dodge the bulk
of the spray. Affected targets will find it difficult to keep a grip on
objects or people, and will have difficulty performing combat maneuvers that
require solid contact, such as bashing. Beings standing near the primary
target of the spell, such as groupmates, may also be affected by the grease,
although to a lesser degree.
An invoker of at least the 26th level with some mastery of this spell can
cast it without a target. In such a case, the grease will then spread
out over the caster's immediate surroundings and form a slippery layer,
which can cause people walking on it to slip and fall.
To learn Grease, an invoker first must have mastered Acidic Secretion
(Para-Elemental Ooze). It may not be cast in either of its forms
underwater, or in places of extreme heat.
