Syntax: commune 'gate' <target>
The gate supplication is a powerful transportation magic that opens a portal
between your character and a desired being somewhere else in the world. This
portal will transport you and any pet you might have, but not others who are
with you at the time. PC characters may only gate to other PC characters who
are trusting them (HELP TRUST).
Certain beings and places are warded against gating by either divine or magical
protections. The connection formed while gating to an adventurer is most
similar to a summoning, and the same guidelines apply regarding those much
stronger or weaker than the healer.
A healer who has not entered the chaos of battle recently may concentrate well
enough to gate even across great distances, from one continent to another. If
that healer has drawn blood within the past several hours, their ability to
traverse distances with this supplication is reduced.
