Part of some thieves' training is the ability to make a precision strike. Upon a successful circle stab, the thief has a chance to cause further damage, distract their victim, leave the victim bleeding, or to weaken their victim. Keep in mind that this is an automatic skill that has a chance to happen only after a successful circle stab. Since the ability to execute a precision strike is one that requires many factors, it will not always happen.
