WANDS TALISMANS SCROLLS RODS STAVES (2407)

Magical items require training to use properly.  If your character lacks the
necessary skill to use an item, he will fail, possibly destroying it.  The
item skills are as follows:

scrolls     The reading of magical scrolls and books (see 'help recite')
talismans   The use of talismans and similar devices (see 'help brandish')
wands       The use of wands and similar items (see 'help zap') 

Be aware that these items will have an inherent minimum level requirement
on them; attempting to utilize one while below this level will result in
nothing but sparks.

Magical scrolls are fragile things, and after a period of time, they will 
crumble into nothingness.
