GALADON GALADON2 (1126)
Located at the western end of the Eastern Road, just east of the Feanwyn
Weald and north of the Silverwood, Galadon is often considered the center
of Thera, culturally, economically and geographically. While this isn't
necessarily true, Galadon is a well stocked city and more than capable of
providing an adventurer with all that he needs to get by.
THE ACADEMY:
The academy can be accessed easily from any of Galadon's three temples.
From the Temple of the Sun, one can reach the academy by moving east and
down from the recall point. From the Dark Temple, the academy can be reached
by going west and down from the recall point. From the Temple of the Moon, the
academy can be reached by going north and up.
SUPPLIES
Food and water are abundant in Galadon. Merchants up and down the Trade Road
sell all manner of food from fine baked goods to apples, especially around
the market square. Water skins are available at the general store (one pace
south and one pace east of Market Square) and can be refilled at either of
the city's two fine fountains, one at the Temple of the Moon and one at the
Temple of the Sun. Boats can be purchased from an old gentleman by the name of
Nicholas. His shop is set into the corner of an old warehouse on the northern
side of the eastern end of River Road.
NEARBY POINTS OF INTEREST:
Galadon has an abundance of nearby points of interest, several of which are
directly adjacent to the city proper. The Galadon graveyard is known the
world over for its many stirring statues and monuments, while the Copeham
Inn is known the world over for its stirring performances by bards and other
performers. The lumberyard near town is an interesting spot to visit and
explore, while the Forest Road south of the Feanwyn Weald is a lovely place
for an evening stroll (but be mindful of bandits!). It is said that there
are several slightly nastier places in the vicinity of Galadon, and it's
only fair that we mention them in this treatise. Adventurers report the
existence of a village of goblins and a few other assorted creatures
somewhere to the south of Silverwood, near the foot of the mountains.
Rumor has also reached me about a series of caves to the west of Galadon,
reputed to be the home of a tribe of treacherous little kobolds.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Galadon is a protected city--that is, the Tribunal has it under its welcome
protection, so you needn't fear marauders there most of the time. The city
employs a host of guards and has a guild for almost any profession--it is
even rumored that there is a conclave of Rangers to the west, somewhere in the
depths of the Feanwyn Weald. Currently, the gate guards forbid Orcs from
entering the city gates.
