VORALIAN 'VORALIAN CITY' (2635)
Erected from the ashes of chaos and ruin is a shining bastion of light known
as Voralian City. Built by a sacred order of priests and knights known as
the Voralian Order, the city itself is run by a Holy Triumvirate comprised
of a paladin, a shaman, and a healer. Local law enforcement is handled by a
group of aspiring Voralian knights known simply as the peacekeepers.
Though the men and women of the Voralian Order worship a wide variety of
individual deities, all also serve the spirit of a mortal martyr known
as Lady Voralia. In life, Voralia walked the land as a priestess of such
holy character, that she communed the collective power of the Gods of Light.
Ultimately she exhibited a magnificent display of power protecting her island
home from a siege of demons that had broken through an interplanar rift above
the sea. The strain of this effort drew her life away, and her loyal friends
and disciples formed the Voralian Order.
The spirit of Voralia is believed to still exist as a spiritual guide or
angel that inspires all those who walk the path of Light. When apparitions
and visions of Lady Voralia began to surface in the ruins that later became
Voralian City, the rest became history. No one knows for sure why the Lady's
spirit seemed drawn to this place, but it is presumed that the pain and
suffering of this city island reminds her spirit of her own home that she
died protecting.
Voralian City is located in the center of the large river known as Voralia's
Tears, where the spirit of Voralia herself is said to have wept for those
who suffered in the tragedy that once befell the city in its past.
