TARGET AIM AUTOAIM ABBREVIATION ABBREVIATE (2813)
To target other players or characters in Carrion Fields, you must identify
them by name. You can shorten the name to use as little as the first two
characters, so long as there isn't another player or character around whose
name begins the same way. The danger of shortening names is that you may
accidentally target the wrong person. Name shortening only works with other
players or NPCs. It does not work on objects or descriptions in rooms.
Carrion Fields does not have any general automatic targetting functions, with
the exception of a handful of special skills, such as WAYLAY. Because WAYLAY
automatically targets, you must spell out the intended victim's entire name
for the skill to work.
To target yourself, you can just use "self" (look self) or type out your entire
name. This is to allow you to use the shortened targetting system more easily
on other players or characters even if their names start with the same letters
as your own.
