'THE WASTES OF NONVIEL' (2827)

Little is known of this flat desert wasteland, save that the arid climate
is a result of the jade mountains absorbing all the moisture from the Aryth
Ocean and leaving naught but dryness to pass over their peaks.  The few
travelers who have returned from their seemingly endless wanderings report
strange flying creatures that attack without warning, deadly cactii with
needle-sharp thorns and sandstorms that last for years and can carve the
skin from the bones of the most hardy storm giant in minutes.  If you
decide to travel the wastes, bring plenty of water, as there is reportedly
only one oasis.
