'ABANDONED MINES' (2839)

Just south of Udgaard lie the remains of its once-productive ore mines.
Few know now why the mines were closed; the only thing known for sure
is the fact that the veins of ore were not mined out, and that something
else was responsible for their closure.  Stories and rumors in the local
taverns are few and far between, but folks still mutter about the miners
that went mad, the patrol that was... swallowed up by something, the
horrific noises that still echo through the tunnels, and the strange
growths that began to spring up in the shafts.  Only the most seasoned
of adventurers should plumb the depths of these mines, lest they stumble
upon the reasons for their closure.
