MORTORN (2851)
This proud and ancient home of the Dwarven people lies north of the
city of Akan, nestled snugly within the surrounding mountains. Once
the shining jewel of dwarven architecture and skill, it now lies
besieged by the foul denizens of the Underdark. Mercenaries flock to
both banners, some choosing to ally themselves with the dwarves,
others with their darker brethren who have taken the lower levels of
the once impregnable citadel. A semblence of normal life still exists
in the upper halls, with merchants, inns, shops and stores doing a
steady business, but the pall of war hangs over everything and everyone
that dwells within. Still a magnificant and beautiful citadel,
adventurers who come to Mortorn will leave richer for having been there.
