LUMBERYARD 'GALADON DOCKS' DOCKS (927)
The Lumberyard (Suggested for levels 1-10) is an area adjacent to Galadon.
It lies 5 steps south and once east of Market Square. Most creatures in the
lumberyard are non-aggressive, though it's said some of the rats there are
as big as a cat and twice as mean.
Most mobs in the lumberyard are neutral or good. Be sure and consider them
before killing if you have a problem with killing lightwalkers. Most of the
creatures there can be easily dispatched by a skilled adventurer on his
own, though some of the tougher ones shouldn't be attempted until later, or
at all. If you find yourself stuck there, be sure to look for the cook in
the southwest corner of the yard. He sells a good selection of food (And
his brownies are the kind that sing and dance in the forest- not the kind
made out of chocolate). There's also a healer in the lumberyard, near the
cook, who can fix you up should you find yourself feeling hurt or poisoned.
The merchants in the lumberyard carry good sums of copper on them and are
useful for gathering money at low levels.
There are a few pieces of useful equipment in the Lumberyard. One is the
green tunic, carried by the Elven surveyors, which can help increase your
strength if it isn't already at maximum. The other two items, the black
leather sleeves and charred leather bracer, are carried by a Dwarf named
Tarus who runs the lumberyard. The sleeves are prized because they increase
hitpoints and hit roll, and the bracers are known for their ability to
increase hit and damage rolls slightly.
