Description
You see a horrible, ghostly being, dressed in dark. It's probably the
ugliest creature you have ever seen: its skin is pale green and covered
with a thin layer of dark slime. He has three eyes instead of two, and
each of them is of the different size and shape, but all of them are
white and dead. Instead of the nose, there is a hole. It's unnatural
long, thin arms ends with a massive, deadly looking claws. Something
especially frightful draws your attention: on his chest, you see a
massive, open wound, but instead of bleeding, it's full of swirling
darkness. Acrid smoke emerges from it with each it's breath... if that
being would breathe at all.
Role
Experiment
Added Tue Mar 22 06:32:29 2016 at level 11:
Abradarba was "born" deep underground, within the Kteng's laboratory.
It is well known that his "mother", Kteng herself, became a powerful
undead wraith, achieving her ultimate goal - to live forever. But at the
same time, she lost the most precious treasure of the women: ability to
give birth to a child. But now she had eternity... and it was driving her
crazy.
Deep in her laboratory, she was working for hundreds of years, until
Abradarba opened his eyes - all three of them. When he opened his mouth,
an acrid smoke emerged, corroding equipment in the laboratory. He was so
ugly, that it was too much even for his creator. She grabbed her favorite
scalpel and pierced his "baby's" chest, finishing his life that has
just begun.
But Abradarba somehow survived. Maybe because he wasn't human, but more a
homunculus, or maybe because she imbued him with her powerful magic, he
came to his senses in Underdark, by the pit of Displacer Beasts, where he
was thrown. Even those fearful monsters didn't dare to eat THAT thing.
Barely alive, Abradarba crawled from Underdark and began his search
for... for what? Probably to avenge his "mother", or probably to prove
her something, or maybe both. Ugliest thing in the world, he was walking
the lands, scaring people, moaning and groaning. Due to his nature, he
had inherent talents for necromancy, and he was studying it very
effectively. He gave himself an oath: he will become more powerful that
she is, and he will destroy everything and everyone who stands on his way!
Evolutions
Added Wed Apr 6 09:28:31 2016 at level 49:
While he was studying darkest of the arts - Necromancy, he discovered
many interesting things. Once, he discovered a small note about mage
named Callidus, and learned that he was creating powerful undead beings -
very much like his own creator, Kteng. But unlike him, those creatures
were strong, powerful, fearful. Those were wights. And Abradarba decided
to find that master and become one of his artworks.
And that happened, Abradarba found him and Callidus became his second
creator. "I have the most weird parents now", said then Abradarba to
himself.
Second evolution was the growth of his inner consciousness. It was
growing stronger, solid, bright. Who would believe that in such ugly body
so sharp mind would be hiding? Abradarba saw how people were looking at
him - with fear and disgust, and realised that they are blind. They saw
only cover, only what they would want to see, what they would believe
they see. And he began to seek like-minded people, who would not be
fooled by the illusion of material plane. This is how he discovered
Temple, the hidden Cult of the Scarab, and pledged his allegiance to it.
Authorship
Added Wed Apr 27 10:26:21 2016 at level 51:
Time passed, and Abradarba was accepted into the temple. He learned many
things about its religion and philosophy, and even more he learned about
himself. Summarizing his experience, he wrote the work named
'Authorship', which contained (in short) his views concerning the life of
the pure (or existence, in his case).
But something was missing. He felt that his power is not complete, that
his magic works not as it could work. Something was wrong like he was
bearing an invisible curse. He couldn't tell if it was the case, though.
And then, he realized that he was walking in the fog himself. He was
blaming others instead of reflecting at himself and destroying his own
flaws. He was a prey, not the author of his own life. He was full of
hating towards those who was rewarded, instead of becoming better
himself. And when he figured it out, with the iron will he destroyed
those pathetic thoughts and gained control over his own existence.
From now, he will not expect anything from anyone. He will not be prey to
the trolls. He will not suffer from the 'injustice', which is nothing but
yet another illusion, specially made to torment him. Showing his pale,
middle finger, he laughs in the night, and nightwalkers join him and his
mad performance.
The Secret Of The Name
Added Thu Apr 28 10:39:11 2016 at level 51:
Abradarba went to Kteng's laboratory and found his creator, his
"mother" also changed. She became wraith herself, and now she was more
powerful than before. But Abradarba was much stronger, he was a wight,
empowered by the demonic powers that he was drawing from the shadow
planes.
So, instead of killing her, Abradarba used his superior magic and gained
control over his own creator. Then, he asked a question that was
bothering him from his first breath: why Abradarba? What do that mean?
He has learned that it is a secret, special form of the powerful, ancient
magical spell Abracadabra. By naming him that way, Knetg called to it's
power and that was the last ingredient that made Abradarba become alive.
His last name was a name of Kteng's assistant, who was aiding her in
assembling Abradarba and who disobeyed Kteng's order and didn't murder
Abradarba, but only wounded him and saved that way. As a punishment,
Kteng's turned poor Arkenstein into an invisible spirit and bound him to
guard her secret library, for eternity.
Shaping the Fog
Added Wed May 11 07:33:48 2016 at level 51:
World is full of the fog, and, though awakened, Abradarba had to live in
it. He was working on it's purification, but what if, somehow, he would
find a way to use the fog itself? And the wight decided to give it a try.
He developed a plan: to initiate the war between two fractions, Spire,
and the Village. Knowing their false beliefs, he carefully installed
thoughts about the coming soon war with the village into Qinsa's mind.
Then, he found and destroyed a few villagers, and told them the same -
soon, Spire will declare war upon the village. None of them seemed to
believe, and Abradarda thought that his attempt has failed.
But then fog have shaped. Seeds of the possible truth, that Abradabra
has planted into the heads of profanes, bloomed. The war began. And many
of them died in the war, and the world was cleaned well.
Satisfied, Abradarba watched results of his efforts and wrote results of
his experiment into his black book. It was good to see how fog, properly
shaped, destroys it's own puppets.
Sanity
Added Tue May 17 09:56:50 2016 at level 51:
Many necromancers, after becoming undead, lost their mind and become
insane, unable to accept the truth of what they are now. Even most
powerful of them, such as Gaspare, who, at the end of his existence,
almost woke. But with Abradarba it was different.
Now Abradarba realized why did he come to the Temple, and why did he seek
the Cult. He always felt that he was missing something, but never knew
what was that. He thought it was because he wasn't born, because he was
an artificial being, and it was correct. But it was a consequence, not a
result. With his new powers of undead being, with his new ability to see
through the life and death, he could realize what was wrong with him all
that time. And he did.
When he was created, he empty, hollow inside. Almost mindless, he barely
had any thoughts and was living like a golem. Yes, he could speak, and he
was almost alive, but he did lack something that other mortals have: the
soul. Soulless, he won't ever gain it. When he'll die, his existence will
be ceased, forever. He will not reincarnate like other mortals (probably)
will.
But now, after spending years within the Temple, Abradarba was not a weak
profane, not a sleeper. He was strong and able to stand his own
disclosure. He accepted that horrible revelation and accepted himself.
And that awakened him even further made him saner than he ever been.
Where others lose, he wins.
Growth of Power
Added Fri May 20 08:23:58 2016 at level 51:
Over the time, Abradarba was becoming more and more experienced in
everything: his art; combat; philosophy. He was destroying whole armies
alone, removing profanes from the face of Thera, and awakening those who
could be awakened. He wasn't proud, though, of it - his ego was dead long
ago, but he was satisfied with his work. Only one thing did worry him:
almost total absence of the spiritual leaders of the Temple. He knew he
was ready, and many he woke, even those of the Spire, like Grija and
Amkulah, began to seek truth and left the tower of spiritual slavers. And
then he decided that it was a time for him to seek advancement, spiritual
improvement, and position of one of the leaders within the Temple. Not
because he would command other cultists, but because it would give him
ability to strengthen the Temple by bringing new acolytes inside.
