Description

You look upon a male elf. He is slightly short by elven standards, standing approx six and a half feet tall. He is well built, even muscular wearing tightly-fitting lightweight clothing. His skin is smooth and pale, and he has an extremely clean appearance, with well recently trimmed blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail and little to no facial hair.His eyes are blue and piercing, and he has a small angular nose. His mouth is small and his lips extremely pale and you catch a glimpse of bright white teeth beneath. He has relatively broad shoulders for an elf, and he wears a forest green cloak over his lightweight armor. A slim silver belt adorns his waist with an elaborate design on the buckle that you do not recognize. His hands are extremely callused and even dirty which contrasts with the rest of his appearance. Role

Background and motivations

Raised in the woods, his parents the leaders of a small outcropping of elven
rangers Northwest of Udgaard, Adesoka learnt from an early age to appreciate
the most simple things in life. Food, water, hunting, singing around the
fire. This rather primitive life was his reality until his adolescence. The
outcropping's main goal was to keep the Udgaardian Patrollers at bay and
prevent them from infringing further into the wilds and desecrating both the
wildlife, the One-Hearts, and the other innocent folk who made this part of
Thera their home.

The outcropping's tactics were simple, and it was a constant struggle.  They
used wooden weapons versus the hardened steal and armour of the patrollers,
and they had to rely on guile and survival methods to maintain their outpost.
suffered losses regularly, and the outcropping had grown smaller and
smaller over the years. Adesoka rarely joined in the raids, being too you,
but he lead a humble life of hard work, and while he sometimes wondered how
his kin in Darsylon lived, and what it was like there, he loved his way of
life.

Things turned ill for the outcropping soon after Adesoka had reached age to
join in the adult duties, including warfare with the Patrollers.   Their
numbers were more scarce than ever, and the Patrollers were growing bolder,
heading deeper into the woods than ever before. A fierce battle broke out
when the Patrollers brought more forces than ever before.  It was a bloody
battle, and both of Adesoka's parents fell in the carnage. Adesoka, horrified
and enraged, refused to retreat, but one of the last remaining elves, a
veteran of their ranks, grabbed Adesoka and pulled him deep into the woods
where they found cover.

The next day, Adesoka went back to the battle to find their bodies for proper
burial.They were gone.  He followed the Patrollers tracks all the way to
the Northern gate of Udgaard.  There, he saw his parents heads on spikes on
the outer gate. Knowing there was no hope for revenge hding out in the woods
with the now scattered and leaderless outcropping, he set his course for
Darsylon, to learn to become a warrior.

Darsylon

Years passed quickly in Darsylon, where Adesoka grew from a rough, unpolished
youth into a trained and eager member of Darsylon's guard. Yet still, he was unsatisfied. He was 
happy and grateful for the training, but he knew he could not remain in Darsylon. The horrors that befell
his parents were still out there, and he knew he must find them.  While fearful, Adesoka left
Darsylon and set his course for the Fortress of Light, to pledge himself to the Holy Brigade and prove his worth.

Squirehood.

Once Adesoka pledged himself to the Holy Brigade, everything changed for him. 
He was immediately plunged into a dark and fierce war with the Empire and other dark, mysterious
factions, that he was unsure whether his training in Darsylon had prepared him for. 

He faced many, many setbacks, and often felt humiliated at his defeats, but tried to remind himself that
one's mettle is judged by how you are in your worst of times, rather than your best.  He looked deep 
inside for courage to continue on, and to his surprise, he found it.  He trudged forward, with very few bright moments, 
and became a Squire and finished his training in the guild.  In combat, he began to observe his foe's moments
with an unusually trained eye.  He himself began to move like a shadow, dodging his enemies blows with deft ease. 

Yet it wasn't enough, and still he left most battles humbled, and battered.  But his spirit persists, and he 
holds faith that someday, there will be a reckoning, and his blade shall lead it.

Maran

The years drew on, and the war made its mark on Adesoka.  There were valleys and times
of doubt, but ever he pressed on, rising from defeats, and trying to learn from hardships as best he could. 
Eventually, having proven himself resilient if nothing else, the Lady Baerinika found him fit to bear the mantle
of a Maran.  Adesoka had never been more proud, and since that day he has walked with his shoulders
a bit wider set, and a grim look of determination on his face.  While his body is battered, he hopes
to make what is left of his left to make his mark on the wicked, and leave a fond memory that will endure in 
the Azure Fields.

New Life

Added Sun Apr 19 10:18:13 2015 at level 51:
The war having taken its toll on Adesoka, as well as through his rather reckless youth, he found himself
on death's door.  Just as he though the end drew nigh, the Lady Baerinika reached out and blessed him 
with the gift of life, allowing him to press on with renewed vigor.  The Lady's blessing has breathed new life into Adesoka, 
and he feels a new purpose in his every move.  He hopes to play a larger role as a Maran and lead by 
example for the Squires, as he has seen and battled nearly every foe in the lands, and feels that 
there is some small measure of knowledge that he can pass on.

Captain

Added Mon May 4 10:28:50 2015 at level 51:
After a bloody battle with the Empie, the Lord Avderlain appeared in front of Adesoka and
made him Captain of the Fortress. Adesoka was surprised, but also extremely honored. 
As Captain, Adesoka hopes to extend his time in the Fortress, far past what seemed to be 
his inevitable fall to the Azure some time ago. With the new life granted to him, he plans to make the most of it. 

With the duty of being Captain, Adesoka hopes to grow the Brigade, and also make sure that the 
new Squires do not falter where he did as a youth. Particularly in terms of not being too reckless, as well
as understanding that they must be better than that which they fight, and be a shining example
to the rest of the realm.  Adesoka is well aware that he failed in these respects in his youth, 
and is pressing upon his squires that they do not have to be perfect, but they must strive
to be better, just as he is striving to do.  He also has made it clear that he will not stand
for any in the Brigade to take pleasure in the bloodshed, or to gloat over victories.

Failures

Since becoming Captain, much has transpired. In a chance journey with Ashworth, 
He came upon Lady Baerinika's misty ruins, and met the Lady face to face. 
He was enchanted and inspired the the Lady's presence and stories, and was 
drawn to her cause.  At her suggestion, he set rules to live that addressed his failings as a person. 
He also was set upon a task to find five items that represented his past, present, and future. 
Upon this quest, he learned a lot about himself, and felt that he was slowly becoming the
the person he wanted to be, and someone worthy of being acknowledged as on of the
Jaguar's pack. 

However, the demons of his past rose up in Adesoka, and his sharp-tongue, 
his rage, and his bitter world-view rose upon him during a particularly heated
exchange.  Realizing that he had failed once again, he abandoned hope that he 
would someday be a worthy follower of the Jaguar.  Instead, he has accepted
that he will always be a very flawed, sharp-tongued, elf, set on his own solitary path. 

Adesoka hopes that he can still be useful to the Brigade as Captain, even if he himself
has been a failure in his own eyes.

Maturing.

Adesoka draws near to his final resting time, and the war wears heavier than ever
on his shoulders.  After speaking with the Goddess, he has found a sliver of hope
that he can finish his days known as something other than a failure.  

As Captain of the Brigade and without the Marshall Corzu to help steer them, he has taken a harder line
with the Squires, asking more of them, being more stern with his guidance, as he knows
now that the hard line will benefit them in the long run, even if it means he won't have their love. 

Adesoka is still the same elf who arrived at the Fortress gates, not hundred of years ago.  He is prickly, 
and has a sharp tongue and sharp wit with friend and foe.  He can get hot under the collar and quick to
anger. 

In truth, Adesoka has always been his own greatest enemy. He held such high expectations for himself, 
that he never let himself feel happiness or satisfaction.  Nothing was ever enough for him, even when he did find
some small victories in his life. His dying wish is that he finds a measure of peace within himself and can accept
that his contributions may not have purged all evil from Thera, but he did something, and he will not go
into the Azure entirely unforgotten.
