Description
Standing before you is a large and strong giant of lofty stature.
Though not disproportionately tall, she is ten times the length of
her foot. The upper head is round and fair dark haired, her eyes
very large and animated. Her nose is long, and face laughing and
merry. Her appearance is always stately and dignified. Her neck
is thick and short, and her belly rather prominent, but the symmetry
of the rest of her body conceals these defects. Her gait is firm, her
whole carriage womanly, and her voice clear.
Next to her skin she wears a linen shirt and linen breeches and
above these a tunic fringed with silk. While hose fastened by
bands covers her lower limbs, and shoes her feet. Her bluish
inner-cloak and weapon is very prominent. Signs of aging shows
on her face and lines under her eyes are darkening itself.
On closer inspection you see:
Role
Provincial Magistrate
Added Thu Nov 8 14:05:54 2007 at level 51:
One fine morning, Adina woke up from her sleep. As always,
she took a little walk to see the status of her Jurisdiction. While
walking around the Temple in Hamsah, she chanced upon an
Immortal who was in thin air. For her dedication towards the
spire, she was transferred to Galadon.
In Galadon, she enjoyed her new Jurisdiction as it was always
busy or something always seems to be happening. She learnt
from her mistakes and grew in titles and at last she gained her
final title of the Paladin Guild. Many a times she faced unknown
enemies. Many people who were friendly to her in the city were
not so friendly outside the protective walls. The prime examples
were Assassins and Imperials.
Some time later the Vindicator took over the position of Provost.
It was good to see a mortal leader of the spire. To the Provost,
Adina mentioned what position she wishes to get in the spire.
The office of Justiciar of Thera. The Provost responded that she
was very experienced to be a Justiciar.
After sometime Lord Marcatis visited Adina at the pit in the Spire.
He asked her how she feels about the office of Provincial Magistrate.
After much discussion between Lord Marcatis and the Provost,
Adina was pronounced to the office of Provincial Magistrate. She
has the power to bring people in the Spire or throw people out of Spire.
But she hasnt used that ability. Trusting in the judgment of Provost
is more appropriate as he is the true leader.
She still wishes to be the Justiciar of Thera, but its a goal for future
time. Till now she has gained training from the Paladin Guild to be
helpful within a team. But she can be seen retrieving the Scales of
Justice from the Outlanders.
Another Ode to My Lord
Added Wed Oct 10 15:50:22 2007 at level 47:
My Lord, My Captain, Lord Guerric
Brutal storms brew over the Ocean of Time
Dark thunder-clouds stretch as far as the eye can see
Caught in the roaring waves, the unfaithful flail
Helplessly envying a shining ship with billowing sail
The glorious ship of silver and gold
Carries wealth in the tales untold
Its sails of Courage catch the Wind of Fate
And pull the proud ship through horror and hate
Behind the wheel, My Lord, My Captain stands
And I relieved to know my life is in the White Lion's hands
So when the wind screams and the ocean roars,
Who will you trust with your oars?
This poem was written by Adina, herself, and edited by Magistrate
Bazarov. The inspiration was of course, Lord Guerric. A way to
thank him for blessing Adina with the gifts of Hope. She would
love to wear the brand of her Lord, but she awaits a better time so
her fate can realize the brand of Great White Lion on her right shoulder.
Trinity of Great White Lion
Added Tue Oct 9 13:51:33 2007 at level 47:
The trinity of the path can be explained very easily in an example
of a boat in the ocean.
Life is a Boat
On the Ocean of Time
Guided by the Wind of Fate
Courage is the Sails
Pride is the Oars, and
Lord Guerric is My Captain
Life of a Good-Hearted Magistrate
Added Tue Oct 2 08:43:23 2007 at level 43:
While working as a Magistrate to the Dessert City, Hamsah Mutazz,
Adina realized that she has to interact with all kinds of people.
Her life outside the Spire will be different from her life on-duty.
For how much she hated the darklings, she has to interact with them
when she was on-duty. Imperials always frequented the city and sat
at the Center Marketplace and initiated talks with her. In these
darkling people she saw that they obeyed their own law which was
almost similar Tribunal Law. They only attacked people who were
Anathema to the Empire in cities. Adina can often be seen walking
around town investigating, or putting out fire or holding an intelligent
conversation with the some Imperials.
All other groups of people barely cared for the law. They attacked in
the cities if it fit their fancy. Some of the people from the Fortress
thought that the Gods should punish her for being just in the Order of
Justice. What these mumbling fools dont realize is that Adina is
protecting the innocent more than they ever did. They didnt mind
attacking people within city limits forcing the innocents to be
incarcerated within their own homes. Stefano, a supposedly
Lightwalker Thief, actually mentioned to her that the Light will
suffer few casualties on the Crusade of Elimination of Darkness
by the hands Lightwalkers. On few occasions, his blade and his
poison resulted in the death of Lightwalkers. And before Adina
left to rest her mind at her guild, Stefano planted two chickens that
were poisoned.
Even if she was attacked or anyone else was attacked, she would
hold an official investigation. She thinks that protecting the town
from criminals and ensuing an investigation is more her job than
actively hunting the criminals. She would rather be a Protector of
Cities than Hunter of Criminals. This idea somehow eludes many
people and few Gods.
Understanding the Paladin Code
Added Wed Sep 19 15:10:08 2007 at level 32:
Since she was little, Adina was trained to be the perfect Knight.
She was taught the words of God and religious texts. Instead of
playing with dolls, she played with swords and shields. Her youth
was a process of order. She gained titles, learnt how to master her
shields and followed the words of her Lord.
The Omniscient, the Great Ancient Lord of the Great White Lion,
Lord Guerric.
After sometime Adina applied to become a Maran. She talked to
Scribe Duujai and the Maran Ranger. They were impressed by her
and sent recommendations to the Captain. During her recommendation
interview, she reiterated that Maran Code is mere brief outline of the
Paladin Code. This differentiation led to an extensive talk with the
Captain.
The Captain led her to a monastery and explained to her the about
some aspects of the Paladin Code. After the talk, she came to the
guild and thought about the Captains words. The Captain initiated an
igniting chain of thoughts. Thoughts about the Paladin Code and how
to follow the code perfectly.
While discussing these subjects with the Guildmaster of Galadon,
she heard some yelling. She ran to investigate these yelling. Through
the Eastern gates of Galadon came running a criminal who slaughtered
many guards and innocent people. The yelling was the chaos, people
trying to hide from this murderer. In epiphany, she realized the code
about respecting the laws of the cities.
Not to long after, Adina had a chance to talk to Justiciar Teleon.
They talked for hours. She heard his interpretation of the Code.
And why he chose the Tribunals over the Fortress. His words sound
like the words of the Captain. His main job is to protect the innocent
and often he hunted those of the darkness.
She talked to the Provost of all Magistrates about this matter, she
mentioned that Adina has to ask Captain Niheriva to relieve her of
the application process and scribe Provost Siloreelo a scroll.
Adina talked to the Elder Prophet of the Light, Braemir Davoule
about her predicament and he explained to her who he sees the
Servant of Light. His explanation made her feel at ease. He also
mentioned that he will talk to the Captain and the Provost.
Reliance on Perfection
Added Wed Sep 5 10:41:26 2007 at level 17:
One fine day, Adina was talking to the Provost Magistrate in the
Grand City of Galadon. While chasing a criminal, the Provost
Magistrate stepped outside the city. Before Adina could react, she
was put to sleep by a raiser of dead at the Market Square. Her prone
body was a target to his dark art. The curses of blindness, poison
and plaque were uttered from his lips. He ordered his dwarven
mercenary to attack Adina. By the grace of Lord Guerric, she slew
the mercenary as well as that Raiser of Dead. She soon realized that
as much as she needs to master her shielding abilities, she also needs
to master her supplications provided by the Lord of the Great White
Lion.
While talking to her Guildmaster, he mentions about the art of perfection.
So she sat in her guild uttering praises to her Lord in attempts to master
her supplications. As much as she wants to slay the darkness, she needs
to perfect her art so she can rely on her mind. Many times she is seen
surrounded by a mountain of divine bread.
Blessing of the Lord
Added Wed Sep 5 10:40:47 2007 at level 17:
The Lord of the Great White Lion appeared in Adinas dreams.
He talked to her at length about Fate, Pride and Courage. And
how the trinity of the path leads her life. He mentioned about
the Great White Lion. She also mentioned to him about her desire
to join the fortress.
Next day when Adina woke up from her deep slumber, she felt as
if something has changed in her body. She felt blessed by her Lord.
Pillars of Life
Added Mon Aug 27 13:17:56 2007 at level 9:
Fate is the ability to realize that for every man that is born,
must die. Fate is the acceptance that our life is already
written and our actions are the choices we make to set upon
the goal. The omniscience, the most knowledgeable passive
one, already knows the path of man when one is born. He
watches and guides whom he thinks are capable of greatness.
Courage is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty
or intimidation. Physcial Courage in case of physical pain,
hardship, and threat of death. Moral Courage in the case of
uncertainty, discouragement and shame.
Valor is the moral strength required to perform ones duties
honestly. It is not physical courage. Valor and Courage as
so similar that many people think that they are same.
Pride is an emotion which refers to a strong sense of
self-respect, a refusal to be Role + humiliated as well as joy
in the accomplishments of oneself. Lack of pride is a bad thing.
Lack of pride leads a person to neglect their image in society.
It may lead to a sense of pointless when achieving objectives
in life. The person does not value themselves enough to be
driven towards its goal.
Death is final truth in a man life. Little mishap here and
there is a lesson to teach the eternal truth, that is, death.
Unnecessary death is not allowed. If death is eminent, escape
route must be found so the battle can continue next time.
Virtues of the Paladins are very important in life. They teach
the ideal way to lead life. Saving a friends life and dying in
this process is NOT an unnecessary death, but an ideal death
of a paladin.
Morals can be formed according to the society a person is raised,
but certain code is imbedded in the heart to follow
Early Life
Added Mon Aug 27 13:11:40 2007 at level 9:
Once there lived a Storm Giant named, Hafir Ulthir. He was
a courageous warrior of the light. When he came of the right
age, his parents arranged his marriage to a beautiful woman.
His dreamt of becoming one the Champion of the Light. He
also dreamt of vowing Diana. But all remained dreams after
his marriage.
When his daughter was born, he trained her in the ways of a
Paladin. Ensuring she follows the Code of the Paladins with
all her heart. He named her Adina Ulthir. When she was young,
the warrior made her move to Galadon and study at the Galadonian
Guild of Paladins.
Three years after she moved to Galadon, she went to rescue a
young man from a beast. Adina barely had any experience in
combat. In two swift moves, Adina fell to the Beast. Death of
his loving child broke Hafirs spirit. When his second child was
born, he named her Adina Ulthir.
She became his purpose of living. All things he wanted in his
older daughter was already present in his younger one. To further
her studies, she moved to Galadonian Guild of Paladins. In Galadon
she heard of an ancient God name Guerric. The Lord of Fate/Time,
Pride and Courage.
