Description

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A massive humanoid lizard rises at least eight feet off the ground. His already tough, cracked skin is a deep green color. Scars of varying shapes an sizes cover the scaly flesh. A highly asymmetrical and misshapen face is covered with pox-marks. Slithering tongue constantly darts back and forth as if searching for something to snag... and digest. He only has one regular ea (decorated with small mithril earrings), the other is a mass of scarred flesh against the elongated head. Various jewels, albeit incredibly modest, adorn the front and back claws. In stark contrast to the rest of the appearance, the yellow feverish eyes are filled with warmth and compassion. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Role

Concept

Added Mon Jan 2 08:09:58 2023 at level 18:
Adozo is one day miraculously found alive in a decimated saurian village of
U'anhocci. He is maimed and disfigured and is seen as repulsive by all Theran
standards. The High Elves that found him nursed him to life and brought him
to Darsylon where he discovers to possess a healing touch. (His aura would
attract the living creatures to him, very nature-based.) Adozo, despite being
raised by elves is deeply into Saurian mythology and philosophy and exists and
lives under the Sphere of Death, of Weh. He believes that Sra is simply a
debt borrowed from Weh and that life and worth are measured by how a being
repays such debt. Do they waste it bringing harm and violence or do they
treasure it by embracing Sra and making the most of the little time they have?
As such, he prays to Lady Rarywey under the Sphere of Death. Personality-
wise, Adozo feels shunned and is highly self-conscious of his appearance.
Children run when they see him and mothers cover their eyes when he passes.
Only time will tell whether 'zo (short for Adozo) will gain sufficient
confidence to accept himself.

Philosophy/Sphere Death - Part I

Added Mon Jan 2 08:12:55 2023 at level 18:
"When beings live within the wilderness, they come to an acceptance of death
as a part of living, they see the leaves fall and rot away to build the soil
for other trees and plants to be born. The leaves gather strength from sun
and rain, gathering the Sra on which they live to return it to the soil when
it's their time to sense the Weh. Only for a time have they borrowed their
life from the sum of things, using their small portion of sun, earth, and
rain, some of their being - all to be paid back when death comes. All to be
used again and again."

"Our life is nothing but debt borrowed from death. How we pay off this debt
is what distinguishes us from one another."

Philosophy/Sphere Death - Part II

Added Mon Jan 2 08:21:22 2023 at level 19:
I am living on Borrowed Time.
I have been
for some time.
My whole life has been borrowed-
Time stolen away from Weh.
Born a few years sooner,
found an hour too late.
Time that was snatched away and given to me.
I have wasted too much time
too many hours crying
too many years lost.
I know
Im wasting my Borrowed Time.
So many years searching for answers
Why? Why? Why?
Why me?
Perhaps maybe
I was a little too young for many Firsts,
I was a little too tortured for many Seconds.
But time and Weh
are reminding me
to learn
to love
to live.

The Origin

Added Mon Jan 2 08:41:42 2023 at level 20:
Even the most battle-hardened of elves were in shock to have found piles after
piles of bodies of the saurian-kin in the village of U'anhocci. It was a
uniquely grizzly sight. However, despite all odds, surrounded by carnage, the
elves found a grossly disfigured but yet still alive lizardling - Adozo. His
body laid in a perfectly-shaped oval patch of mushrooms. He went unnoticed at
first, covered by a flock of butterflies, but when one of the Darsylonian
guards moved closer, the butterflies flew away, revealing Adozo to the elves.
They took him back to the Darsylonian healers where Adozo was nurtured back to
life.

As a lizardling, wandering the streets of Darsylon, the living creatures would
flourish and thrive about Adozo, while the mothers would cover the eyes of the
children when Adozo passed. In his youth he tried his hand with a dagger and
found himself unable to wield it - the claws could not grasp the handle and he
kept cutting himself. He tried his hand with a bow, and found no accuracy in
his pull. He even tried to recite the arcane incantations, but to no avail.
This did not go unnoticed by the High Council of Darsylon. Adozo was moved
from Darsylon to the healing guild of Eil Shaeria. The High Elves felt that
perhaps whatever gifts Adozo possessed, would somehow have an effect on the
darkness which crept into Eil Shaeria from the northern and southern gates.

And they were right, whatever was inside Adozo pushed back the darkness of the
ghasts and attracted life and living creatures through the otherwise
impassable portal of Eil Shaeria. He had something exceptional within him. A
gift. The High Elves wasted no time. Adozo was taught some of the most
basics of mending, rough patches to stem the flow of blood and ease the burden
of pain. He found that his gifts allowed him to keep the anguish of
others at bay. Even being around those inflicted by the darkness gave them
hope, bolstered their spirit, and put them at ease. However, Adozo quickly
reached a limitation on what could be taught to him in Eil Shaeria.

Seeking to find a way to cure not only the bodies of his kin, but protect
their spirits from the corruption of the void, Adozo left Eil Shaeria to
Greater Thera and pledged himself to the Fortress, hoping one day to become a
shield against the ebb of evil, and a shining beacon of hope to those who
would fight against it.

Philosophy/Sphere Death - Part III

Added Thu Jan 5 15:24:43 2023 at level 34:
Weh <-> Sra / Collectors <-> Borrowers

In the beginning there was only Weh. It was a dark and monotonous time.
Bleak. Empty. To break the boredom, Weh created an egg. The egg hatched and
Sra emerged. Sra was bright and vibrant and full of life. Weh got jealous of
Sra and squished it into the ground, leaving itself alone again. But the
remains of the squished Sra gave life to another Sra which was even more
vibrant and vivacious than its predecessor. The new Sra, now knowing the
jealous nature of Weh escaped and sprouted life everywhere it went, fleeing
Weh. So Weh created the Collectors. They were the agents of Weh made to
capture Sra and bring Sra back before it was Sra's natural time to die. In
response, Sra gave life to the Borrowers whose task was to interfere with Weh
and its Collectors and borrow more time for Sra to die of natural causes.
Collectors thus claimed lives, while Borrowers protected them.

At times, the Borrowers were successful and Sra lived to its natural death and
lands flourished with life and prosperity. In other times, the Collectors
caught up with Sra and the lands became bleaker and more monotonous until the
new Sra emerged.

This is the cycle of Sra, seeking to borrow time from Weh.
