Description
A tall, thin elvish creature stands before you. His face is pleasantly long,
accentuating the narrow points to his ears. His skin is not fair like elf
skin, and seems to be rather tanned and weathered. His thin built appears
weak, but upon closer inspection is just lean. His blue eyes hold a wise
look, when seen through the black tangles of curly hair. His clothing is
slightly muddy, with odd stains all around.
Role
The early years

Aerik was born near the tall grasslands stretching out from the Voralian city.
His parents were nomadic, and seemed distant in spirit. They were always
on the edge of flight from something, or perhaps to more plentiful lands. He
learned at a young age to travel lightly, both in packs and in mind. He gives
little value to acquaintanceship, and puts little value in friendship as well.
Once he reached an age old enough to leave his parents, and whatever secrets they
ran to or from, he made his way towads Aldevarri. There, he met a young band of
travellers much like himself, but with much brighter spirits. They taught him the
finer appreciation for music, and even a few simple tunes. He quite liked what he
learned, but as always, he found himself wandering further away.
He went to the east, and found council in the Holy Grove. Here, many druids and
druid novitiates taught him the finer things of nature. He learned of the cycle
of life and death, and how death begets fertility within the land. The seasons were
used both metaphorically, and literally, to demonstrate this. He learned a lot during
his years in the grove, but as always, decided to move on.
He has entered the world with a great appreciation for music, and with an underlying,
almost primal understanding of nature. He shies from civilization, and does not do well
near crowds of any sort. He is slow to anger, but also slow to warm up to others.
A dwarf

Aerik has met a young dwarf named Belgaffen. He has spoken with him before,
and this time he was invited to kill the undead in Barovia with him. He spoke
with him about the ways of the dwarves, and the will of the Ancients. He has
agreed to travel with him, in an attempt to bring him closer to nature. The
prey will be the undead of Barovia, so he anticipates being able to show the dwarf
the ways corruption of nature can cause such vile creatures. He hopes to show the
dwarf the ways of the Ancients, as the SunWarden has said he wishes to show him
wisdom as well.
New ways and old ways bringing knowledge
Added Sun Feb 20 20:31:39 2005 at level 41:
In Aerik's talks with Belgaffen, he learned that Belgaffen left his mountain as he
was born into service as a king's guard. Aerik respects this about Belgaffen, though
little else.
Belgaffen said, (in a loud, drunk tone), that he has given up forging metal and servitude
to the king. In Aerik's talks with Aesrira, he has come across knowledge of what
is to be done. Though Belgaffen has given up these things, he is still a dwarf, and
even if his people's sins are to be forgiven with him, he is capable of producing
more dwarves. Belgaffen's offspring would likely not follow the ways of their father,
especially as he does not see finding his own spirit as a pressing interest. Because
of this, Aerik has chosen to cease hunting Belgaffen for the moment, but his newfound
knowledge has pressed his urges to fight the dwarves. He also dislikes the way they
smell, the way they talk, their volume, and the drink they carry. They can't seem to
handle his drink, and slobber on his flasks anyway.
Aside from the dwarf business, he has learned more of the Coven and the way the seasons
interact with the Mother. He has spoken with Aesrira and Jekte, and has found the temple
of Amaranthe. He still asks and learns, and has given much thought to the Coven and the
ways it sees the world. He puts much credit into the seasons and the cycle, as he has
been taught of them since his youth.
He seeks one day to join the Coven, but does not think himself ready to request such a
role in the religion of his Goddess.
