Description
The elf before you seems short in stature compared to others
of his race. His overall build seems tone, however, as if he
is used to physical training or labor. His skin is a bit more
bronzed than other elves as well showing much time spent in
the outdoors. His eyes are classically elven shaped in both
appearance and color, being a mixture of green and gold in
His hair is cropped short and cut in a more human style rather
than the long haired flowing look of many of his kin. It is
blonde and golden in appearance and always neatly combed to
one side. He has kind features though at times they can radiate
with intensity. His lips are thin and his face is narrow,
though he is always quick to smile.
When fighting it becomes readily apparent his reflexes are superb.
His hands and knuckles appear calloused and often used for both
work and fighting. Clearly he has chosen the life of a fighting
monk.
Role
Farm Born
Added Thu Dec 15 06:24:18 2022 at level 1:
The Ethuil family of elves was one that stuck out in the community like a sore
thumb. The cause of this particular view was brought on by Aerithas' father
Tenethil. Tenethil was eccentric and humble. He did not enjoy the life of
nobility in which he was raised in Darsylon. When he found an equally eccentric
wife, Rosefaeh, he forewent his wealth and titles and moved to a small farming
village between Tir-Tilath and Voralian City.
For many many years he lived quietly with his wife, tending his flocks of sheep.
He had a human friend who sold his sheep at market for him for half the profits,
the family called him Uin. Uin spent a lot of time with the Ethuil family,
enjoying their hospitality and kindness. Uin and Tenethil helped each other when
various problems arose on their neighboring farms.
Tenethil and Rosefaeh had three children, of which Aerithas was the youngest.
The children adapted their parents humble origins and love of working the land.
Aerithas' oldest sibling, Rhapsody, loved music. She often played her harp in
the garden. She had great talent and magic in her songs, often coaxing the best
yields and largest fruits from the plants with her enchanting melodies. She
would leave the farmstead eventually to seek the great Outlander Refuge in the
Warden branch.
The second born's name was Valore. He was gifted with brawn and enjoyed the hard
work of the farm to the point that he became exceedingly muscular. His passion
was protecting the farm from predators and thieves. Tenethil was only slightly
disappointed that Valore returned to Darsylon to become a member of the guard.
While he would miss him on the farm, he knew his son's work would protect the
elves he grew up with and still loved.
Aerithas would happily grow on the farm and enjoy watching the sheep and other
animals. He would go with Uin to the market and meet the townsfolk and city
folk. This would eventually lead to tragedy...
..just kidding. Tenethil and Rosefae were hoping to keep Aerithas on the farm
longer than his brother and sister stayed. Unfortunately during a journey to
Voralian City he felt called upon to join the priesthood after several
discussions at the market with local priests of the Light.
And so Aerithas journey from one flock to another began. Humble origins, a lack
of 'properness' and decorum common with high elves, and a desire to serve the
light for the betterment of it's creatures.
Tenet 3 of the Paladin Code
Added Fri Dec 16 08:50:17 2022 at level 19:
3. Think and control your actions before bloodshed. Patience and diligence
will guide your actions.
Aerithas stood by the holy altar in Hamsah Mu'tazz, visibly shaking and glancing
around himself. He had just broken the law. The conjurer and it's imp had been
hounding him through the city attacking him, but when he had managed to push the
battle into his own favor, he pressed on and struck the conjurer in the city. He
nearly ended the conjurer's life, and was..excited? Scared? Nervous? Remorseful?
Ashamed? So many emotions pouring through him all at once after these combative
moments.
The first two drow he struck down had been murdering those of the light at the
moment and it was far easier to cut them down. This conjurer was no such direct
threat to the light, only to Aerithas himself. Breaking the law was something he
never intended to do, what would his brother think? What would the guild think?
What would his future goddess (hopefully) think?
He remembered tenet 3 of the Paladin Code once more, swearing to himself he
would do better. Actions have consequences, and though he was not caught
breaking the law this time, the thought of forcing those like his brother to
strike him down was not a pleasant one. Thought before action. Temper and
control your strikes always. He will do better.

Greetings Father and Mother,
Where to begin? I have been too long away from home but even now I do not have
the time to devote away from my studies and prayers for a proper visit. I do
plan to spend Yuletide with you both, I am able to step away from my duties in
the Fortress of Light for that for a brief period of celebration. I will bring
desserts from a particular confectioner I have come to enjoy in the faraway city
of Arkham.
We have so much to speak on. I know we discussed it in great detail, but I did
end up pledging myself to the Fortress of Light as a dutiful Squire and was
accepted into their ranks. It feels a lot less like the soldiering you
described, father, and seems more like a close knit second family of sorts.
Mother, you would greatly enjoy meeting the Captain of the Fortress. Her name is
Coqui. She too has an affinity and great interest in bees. I will leave the
insect work to you and Rhapsody though, they still give me the shivers. Perhaps
I can take down a group of anti-paladins in a pitched battle, but a small hive
of insects is just where I draw the line!
You both know I took the oaths of the Paladin, but you'll be very pleased to
know that I have found the direct blessings of the goddess Azorinne. I don't
know what I expected her to be upon meeting her, but it certainly wasn't what I
saw. She is a wisp of a girl, sitting atop her mountain bedecked in gold
fineries and jewels of the stones of her home. I am not displeased, her power
radiates with innocence and holy terribleness at the same time. Woe be any
wicked man who crosses her and may I one day carry the same threat. There are
many feelings associated with this business that I never fully comprehended when
I took my oaths, but I would not trade my position for anyone else's.
We have so much to catch up on, I should see you within the coming days. I hope
Valore and Rhapsody will be joining us, I miss you all dearly. There is much to
take my time these days, but family above all, I hope we never lose each other
to this war in any shape form or fashion.
Your son,
Aerithas Ethuil

Greetings to you Father and Mother,
Let me first apologize. I know I said I would do better at visiting and writing
while we were last speaking during the holiday. I feel I have not been true to
my word and know I will make a greater effort to stop by the farm for a quick
hug or bowl of stew. Things have been very busy for me of late.
You asked to write of everything including troubles, ups, and downs. Let me
cover the not so well things first.
I knew that this war would be a bit depressing at times, but here lately I have
lost many close friends. It is odd though. They do not fall bloody and anguished
never to rise again. You just simply look over at their bunk one day and
everything is gone, their weapons and war arms left in the chests of the
Fortress. If a fellow named Jerastan stops by the farm at any point, please
entertain him as a special guest. I spoke often of you both to him and we became
close friends. The same can be requested for another fellow named Yolrun, though
I was not as close to him. Perhaps he will stop by as well. I hope they find the
peace they left to seek and hold no ill will towards them.
I find myself getting frustrated from time to time with those I am sworn to both
fight beside and protect in combat and there is some sense of shame that comes
along with these feelings. Do you remember the brief months you attempted to
raise goats father? You had the best intentions, you wanted to protect them and
keep them safe, but they all simply wanted to bust out of the fence and run away
from you towards dangers unknown? That is what it feels like sometimes. Herding
goats. But even still we have our adventures and enjoy each other's company,
forgive me if I make things sound worse than they are.
There is one more individual I will be bringing by myself sometime soon to meet
you both, I think. She goes by the name of Zsarreyen. I have many feelings
surrounding her that I'm not certain how to process. She is a thief by trade,
and apparently a gambling cheat before that. She is brash and loud, opinionated
and stubborn when she wants to be. She has the brightest pink hair you will ever
see and curls like the ocean breaking. All these things but I still find myself
wanting to spend a lot of time with her. I don't want to list all of her
positive attributes, I'd rather you meet her for yourself. There is no real
guidance in the Code for situations like this. There has to be some sort of
balance between fighting a war and..spending time with the ones you..(last
sentence struck through)..taking time for yourself. I simply don't know where
the line between personal time and war time is drawn when I have a vow, a Code,
and a Creed to follow that are all far larger than myself.
Well this is getting a bit long, I will end here. I do hope to visit you all
sooner than later. Some quiet reflection would serve me well.
With love,
Aerithas
ATTN: Valore Ethuil of the Palace Guard of Darsylon
Added Thu Jan 12 08:21:18 2023 at level 51:
Brother,
First of all it seems that congratulations are in order. A Royal Guard under the
direct command of Lord Danellaran himself is a most impressive position. It
would seem having your little brother soundly whooping you in combat for a
hundred years really paid off, you're welcome. In all seriousness though, we are
all proud of you. Mother said that Rhapsody stopped by the farm and seemed
rather out of place and distracted the whole time, but that she was in good
spirits and sends her love to both of us.
The reason for my missive is this. One of my best friends of the Fortress of
Light who's name is Be'ellassanall'an, has recently..retired..to Darsylon. I'm
rather angry at the situation, mostly at myself for not seeing the warning signs
of the burnout in his spirit. War does this to so many, but I never expected it
to be him. He is one of the funniest, caring, and most innocent elves I've ever
met. I'm sending a war chest to the bank with shared access to you and I. I'm
encasing a thousand gold coins. I want you to figure out where he makes his
home, I'm sure it will be a tavern, and take your fellow soldiers there
regularly to hear his songs. Tip him well and make sure he is looked after, see
if you can convince him to come back to the Fortress of Light, though I doubt he
will.
A separate matter. I would like for you to look for someone. Someone...important
to me, though they don't know it and neither should you tell them if you manage
to find them. The family name is Laussellwairr. He is going to be a gambler or
thief by trade, he could also be using a different name. He will have spent a
lot of time in Ayr'Trinil. I know this is very little information to go by but,
I also know how well connected your Commander is. Send a scroll back hastily as
soon as you get any information, if you do. I don't want to lose him once he is
found.
That is all for now. May you remain ever vigilant to guard the innocent. May you
balance out emotion so that Justice is not a reflexive impulse, but a thought
out and inspired action. May you go about your duties with grace and strength,
and may the Light guide you home.
