Description

A faint scent of cypress needles, nutmeg, sage, and other less familiar plants wafts from the man before you. A mischievous twinkle seems to call attention to his bright green eyes. His golden-blonde hair sits atop his head in wavy curls. His face is smudged with charcoal and clay in various places. His clothing is that of a rogue, darker shades of gray, forest green, and brown depending on his environment. He also wears an assortment of armor appropriate for his activities, which given his lithe body type complimented with taught and fit muscles must be something martial. He has a charming smile and unmarred, if a little pale, skin. He moves silently when in motion, and rests easily with a subtle sense of alertness to his presence. He appears wary and alert. In a satchel on his right hip you notice several rolls of what appear to be field dressings. On his left hip you notice what seems to be a moist leather sack with herbal paste-filled bandages of some sort.

Ahjevhil and the Herbalist, Ahjevhil the Assassin: Backstory

Philosophically, Ahjevhil grew up under the impression that life itself is a
precious thing. He learned this concept from an early age when he had to
begin processing the death of his family. Ahjevhil grew up a part of a small
town off the beaten path but near Arkham. Mostly it was made up of farmers
and traders. There was an inn that the locals gathered to swap tales and have
conversation, but it wasn't overly frequented by 'out of towners'. 

When strangers came by, the town usually embraced them with open arms and
invited them to things such as dinner, drinks, general revelry. It just so
happened that the townspeople opened their homes and hearths to a Necromancer
and regretted it. They didn't know much about magic or big city mageries.
They were farmers and craftsman very cut off from the rest of the world. They
knew things were wrong after people started missing, and eventually they ran
the laughing Necromancer off. But not before the true damage was done. People
started getting very sick, people started dying. Ahjevhil was sent out on the
fastest horse to a local herbalist, but by then it was too late. Ahjevhil
returned to his home two days later and his family was dead. He left the
ghost town with the herbalist. 

The herbalist took Ahjevhil in, taught him the basics of living wild and
foraging. Ahjevhil learned how to make basic poultices, learned things about
anatomy and how to tie a bandage. He lived with this herbalist for a few
years, but he felt very empty. It just so happened that the herbalist sensed
Ahjevhil's discontent and realized this wasn't his place. He had a friend in
Arkham who took Ahjevhil in, this friend was a trader with ties to the
various guilds of Arkham. As it would turn out, Ajhevhil was given over basic
duties of running deliveries for the trader. He visited various guilds and
was particularly fascinated with various wall hangings of the assassins
guild. Pressure points, breaking points, the opposite of the healing anatomy
lessons he had learned from the herbalist. 

He began to study in the assassins guild at that point, and he took to his
training very quickly. In fact, he had to leave Arkham by boat in the dead of
night after stabbing a necromancer in the throat and setting the city guard
to look for him for the local crime. At this point he was old enough to find
his way, and eventually he found his way was in Galadon to finish his
training. He particularly enjoys fighting against those who stand for the
opposite of promoting life and creation. His main enemies will be
necromancer, anti-paladins, and other creatures of destructive magic. 
He will destroy the things which inhibit the creation of new life.

Village Applicant, Emerald Oak Aspirant

Ahjevhil has had much time to get to know the world. He has made several
realizations. The biggest of which is that magic itself is an unnatural
disease that is slowly weakening the mortal world. He feels that direct
magical diseases like scourge and plagues responsible for potentially
destroying the world, but also feels that any time a mage accesses the veil
they are allowing the disease of magic to potentially infect the world. Magic
itself causes the weakening of the mage and brings impurity, thus inhibiting
the potential for creation. 

Due to these realizations he has sworn the oath of the Battle Rager to
Tahren. He hopes to join the Village one day soon as a defender to use his
strengths in herbal lore to assist with the overall destruction of magic. 

He has spoken of his mission to Strienat, who he will call his Lord. He burns
candles and offers prayer to this natural God in hopes of having faith to
back his herbal remedies and fate.

A Defender's Hut

A man stands in forest colored clothing before a small burning hearth adding
what appears to be bundles of dried herbs to a boiling iron pot. The hut he
stands in appears tidy and well kept. Several hanging  plants and many more
potted plants line the thick hide walls on all sides. Each plant is well
tended and you notice most of the varieties have healing properties. You
notice a few plants separate from the rest such as nightshade and various
mushrooms and vines that are commonly used for more malicious purposes. 

A thin sleeping mat made of straw sits off to a corner and appears to be the
only object in the place that makes it appear to be a living dwelling. On a
long shelf rest no less than thirty knives, daggers, and short swords.
Caltraps, darts, and shuriken line another shelf, some clearly marked as
being poisoned. On a large bench in the center of the hut are several old and
thick books. You notice the cover of one that marks it as being a text on the
anatomy of gnomes and svirfnebli. The one beside it seems to be an herbal of
flaura in the Oryx Steppes. Each book appears to have a purpose and
usefulness to the reader whether it is how to set the bones and wings of an
arial or how to blind a man through pressure points on his arm. You notice a
battered and worn practice dummy in a corner with it's circulatory and
nervous system clearly marked and faded after years of use. 

Ahjevhil is here at this moment in time boiling herbs, clay, and charcoal for
poultices. He seems to be preparing for a great battle as he has many
dressings rolled in a pile.
