Description
A grim elf, cloaked in shadow is here before you. He looks to stretch to
about six and a half feet in height. His well-tanned and travel worn face is
framed by long, well kept black hair, pulled back in the style of many elven
warriors to keep it from his eyes. His face is particularly handsome, in the
manner of a rogueish and seasoned adventurer. His eyes hold no sparkle of
youthful hope, but rather the grim determination of one molded by the truth
of a harsh and cruel world. The green irises are flecked with red and
yellow, giving his eyes an unnatural, angry appearance. Taking in hiw whole
being however, you can see it is not a raging anger, but a calm and focused
one. His frame is lithe and well-muscled, although thin, as many elves are.
His clothing does not match, but it is in good repair and apparently well
kept.
Role
Overview
Added Thu Oct 4 11:08:49 2012 at level 12:
Ahmahrohtar was essentially raised as a human. As a baby he was taken in by
a farmer and his wife near Tir-Talath. He was raised as their own, and
enjoyed a happy childhood. A series of tradgedies and the resulting choices
has hardened him, in the manner of a human man who had lived such a lifetime,
and not as the young elf that he is. He has tasted adventure and defeat, won
and lost fortunes and lovers. While he is grim, and has a very much realist
outlook on life, he is beginning to realize that he is still young, and has
much life in front of him. The world holds endless possibilities for him.
He has found that he enjoys spending time at the Inn, and will likely seek to
join the Heralds. As he has a penchant for exploration, he will seek to
further his experiences in this and will look to make his name as a famous
explorer. He cares little for the various laws and codes of the land, having
witnessed the mortal weaknesses of corruption and self-preservation in his
travels before attending the Academy.
Name notes and timeline

Just a couple notes and a timeline to further flesh out the character.
Ahmahrohtar - The Doomed Warrior in elvish
Hleowloran - Lost his protection in Old Talathian
Key event timeline
(2)Real parents murdered, taken in by a farmer/former soldier and his wife
and basically raised as a human. Farmer was a friend of his real father.
Taught him to farm, basic martial skills, etc. Taught to appreciate the
land, and what nature offered.
(16)Fell in love with and married (18) a human woman, Aevi. Had intended to
go to the academy but chose the life of a farmer and family man. Had a son
with the woman.
(19)Wife, child and parents died the following year to a plague. The farm's
livestock suffered as well and a combined with a drought ruined the harvest.
(19)Baron's tax collectors came to take the farm because he could not pay the
tribute for the year.
(19)Murdered the tax collectors after uncovering some corruption and number
fixing by the collectors themselves. They were within the Baron's laws, but
their actions were basically corrupt.
(19-27)8 years in the Baron's prison.
(27-39)Joined the Baron's army as part of his parole. He was a well-regarded
soldier and while he never became an officer, he was looked to as a leader.
(40)Left the army and joined a mercenary band. During this time he
crisscrossed Thera, further developing his adventurous nature and apetite for
exploration, he also began his fall towards darkness during this time.
(67)The jade elf wife incident. He generally blows this off when speaking
with other Therans, but his jade elf wife was the eventual reason he fell to
darkness.
(80)Did some evilish stuff, slaughtered his mercenary compatriots. He found
out the mercenaries were complicit in not only losing his farm, but the death
of his human family as well. These murders, along with the murder of his
jade elf wife caused him to fall all the way into darkness.
(110)Fell in love again with an elf this time. She was able to bring him
back from the darkness, but a large part of the reason she loved him was his
rough and rugged nature. As he came back into the light, his gentle nature
returned, and memories of a strong family caused him to want to settle down.
(124)She eventually abandoned him after they lost a considerable fortune.
(124)Basically pub-crawled his way across Thera and ended up in South
Dairein.
(125)Spent time working as a hunter and finding his balance in the world. He
grew to despise institutions of order and authority even more as he had more
time to think, and also grew more strongly to believe that integrity was
very, very important.
(130)Raised enough money to attend the Academy.

On Truth. Truth to Ahmahrohtar is about being who you say you are. For
example, a Scion is Truthful, because they are conniving, evil, vicious
beings, and they represent themselves as such. The Tribunal, as another
example, purports to protect, yet they oprpress those who chose to live free
(Outlanders) and allow citizens and paid guards to be slaughtered like so
many cattle. He also personally witnessed cowardice by two Magistrates and
feels they should have protected a young storm giant and chose to save their
skins instead. To him, this is a false action. Truth does not mean always
being honest, or never telling a lie. It means knowing what you are, and
embracing it, consequences be damned.
He had come to enjoy the life at the Inn, and felt he was becoming part of a
family. This has changed considering recent events. He stood on principle
that he was robbed, with all evidence pointing to a particular thief as the
culprit. To Ahmahrohtar, even the stealing of a single coin would have been
too much. An attack on his person, or the person of one he feels protective
over cannot be tolerated. He feels betrayed by Maehayla over the incident
and something deep in his soul tells him to take vengeance. He is not sure
what to do about this.
Speaking with Scarabaeus about the Torch has awakened some old feelings of
darkness in him, and it scares him. He is not sure at all where his life
will lead him, and the only thing he knows for sure is that he would give
anything to protect those he has come to see as his family, the Heralds.
A second talk with Scarabaeus, immediately after the events that led him to
be thrown out of Herald has confused him even more. He is less scared of the
darkness than he was before, because he sees it as a possible way to better
understand THE Truth. Scarabaeus told him to embrace the darkness, and not
just in word. Time will tell....
Betrayal
Added Mon Dec 10 17:25:34 2012 at level 51:
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and still, Ahmahrohtar battled,
shedding the fat on his limbs and strengthening weakened hands with each
swing of his sword, each stabbing strike of his daggers. His mind worked as
feverishly as did his swordarm. His past, his future, each event of his
life, weighed heavily on him. His mood grew increasingly grim, and even
talks with women he once had feelings for could not budge him from his path.
Ever in the back of his mind, were the words of the Lich Lord. "Embrace the
darkness, and not just in word alone."
Ahmahrohtar strode calmly through the Inn, and down the path into the Lyceum,
his feet following a familiar path into the gallery. There, he cast his gaze
upon the Torch of Shadows. Deep in his soul, he knew the choice he would
make, but still, he argued with himself over it. "Am I truly doomed?" "What
will become of me?" "Will I even find the Truth I seek?" In the end, and as
he spoke the words, he knew the outcome.
"Rachiel, will you come and join me, in the Gallery? I wish to speak with
you."
She came willingly, ready to listen, with love in her heart and hopes of
mending broken bonds. Under the shadow cast by the Torch, Ahmahrohtar told
her of the murder of his jade elven wife. Of his first fall to evil. The
tide of the conversation turned argumentative, and Rachiel grew angry with
him. Then she spoke the words...
"Then kill me, like you did your wife!"
Ahmahrohtar looked up at her, and then, at the torch.
Rachiel continued on, angry at him for his stubborness, trying to yell sense
into the good man she knew, and had come to love. She spoke directly to him,
even as his next words formed on his own lips. They spoke at the same time,
face to face.
"You may have killed your brothers out of Justice, but you Murdered her!"
"That's why we're here," he stated grimly.
Betrayal (cont)
Added Mon Dec 10 17:29:33 2012 at level 51:
She was pleading with him to see his folly as his hands began to move. With
lightning quickness his first strike drove deep into her stomach and up under
her ribs. She gasped in pain and bewilderment crossed her face. Her
reactions took over as she tried to defend herself, but the betrayal left her
paralyzed. Ahmahrohtar slammed into her, knocking her to the ground as he
stabbed again, and again. She rolled out of the way as he tried to pin her
to the ground again, but could not regain her feet as he drove his dagger
into her and twisted. Blood sprayed and gushed from her wounds. She
staggered back, and instinct, more than anything allowed her to notch and
arrow and loose it into his chest. He faltered but a mere moment, and was
able to strike hard at her again as she tried to run. That strike knocked
her to the ground as she fled away from the North Gallery, her blood staining
the wood floor, and he was upon her as she crawled and scrambled through the
halls. She made it as far as the hallway before the entrance before slipping
in a pool of her own blood. Ahmahrohtar was upon her again and with her last
breath she struck a savage blow at him, as he went to finish her off. But
she had lost too much blood, and had no fight left in her. His last few
strikes drove into her neck, his final strike cutting so deep and hard that
her neck split wide open and her spinal column severed with a crack. Her
head rolled into a pool of blood, her flame red hair soaked dark with
crimson.
With his final strike Ahmahrohtar dropped to his knees and uttered a prayer
to the Lord of Truth. "For Truth, Lord Scarabaeus. I now await your coming.
I am the doomed warrior." With that, he realized the commotion coming from
the north, and looking onto the trail spotted his enemy, Rockeano, and guards
from the Inn, come too late to save the Strutter. Taking stock of his
condition, and grimacing at the arrow still in his chest, he unstoppered a
potion and drank it down, disappearing from the scene of the murder.
