Description
Aesthetically blossomed and brimming with life, Aiya is not an intimidating
figure. Her trim muscularity and silky smooth skin suggest a healthy
lifestyle, but betray no love of combat. Tall with an hourglass figure, her
long fetching limbs form into dainty hands and feet. On the palm of her
right hand is a tattoo of a quill, overlaid with a glowing scarlet crescent.
Incredibly detailed, Aiya runs her fingers over it when lost in thought.
She sports a natural blush, her face clean of any cosmetics, and a floral
aroma lingers around her. She moves about with a playful bounce in her step.
A bright smile of pearly white teeth routinely graces her cherubic face.
Small pouty lips speak with a soft accent, which deepens when she becomes
impassioned. Intricately patterened electric-green eyes reflect light with
unusual ease, one can recognize a wild spirit within them, not palpable at
first impression. Shoulder length, golden-brown hair falls from her head in
beachy waves. She keeps it out of her face with a simple side braid, oft
decorated with flowers, feathers and fronds. There is a mirthful air about
this wood-elf, and her countenance is very approachable.

The Lost Pup

Near the start of the 6th age, a friendship blossomed in Darsylon between Aiya
Wanwahina, a wood-elven child living in Arendyl, and Kai Hwenthalion, an elven
child of noble decent. They were inseperable and loved nothing better than to
play in the vale of Arendyl. No matter the season, you'd always see those two
together, or else you'd hear their laughter. The nobility of Darsylon castle
generally scoffed at the budding relationship, but Kai's parents tolerated her
due to the fact their eldest daughter had just recently run off to marry a
human. Aiya's parents were no where to be found, she was raised by wild elves in
the vale. Wanwahina means lost child in some older elvish dialects.
As they became adolescents, Aiya and Kai began venturing into Blackwater swamp
on All Hallow's Eve. Drawn by tantalizing rumors of a great dragon that lived
within. Their foolish young minds urged them towards danger, but they never
ventured too far in to get into trouble. However, one year, trouble ventured
farther out. An orc spotted them and gathered his foul comrades. As Kai and Aiya
returned to the vale to wash the muck off their feet, Aiya thought she heard
someone whispering her name. She looked under some brush and spotted a cooshee
pup panting, "H'aiya'aiya'aiya'h'aiya." Terribly amused at the situation, Aiya
crawled in to greet the pup. Then she heard a sickening thud. Turning around,
she saw Kai looking stunned and pained. As he fell forward, Aiya saw an axe
stuck in the base of his skull. She screamed before she noticed the orc that
was behind Kai. As soon as she did, the cooshee darted forward. Snarling and
growling as best it could. The orc, unaware of the presence of Aiya or the
cooshee fell back on his rear in surprise. The other orcs howled with laughter,
and spent so much time mocking the killer that the elven guard showed up and
drove the orcs back into Blackwater before they could touch Aiya. The elves
brought Aiya to the castle and questioned her about what happened. There was
some blame thrown her way for taking Kai into Blackwater, but that vanished as
she broke into tears. Losing Kai, Aiya had realized that she was in love with
him. As Aiya left the castle for the vale, a Sirine seamstress wrapped her arms
around the young wood-elf. The sirine had always enjoyed musing about the two
friends and their blooming romance, and as she saw Aiya broken, she could not
let this sorrow grow. She took Aiya into her home and tended to her spirit. Aiya
adopted the cooshee pup, like her, it did not seem to have any parents. She
named the pup Wawa, after her name and the adorably fierce display in the vale.
Focused Forward

The years passed slowly for poor Aiya, but her adopted family helped. She
loved cooking with the sirine, learning the nuances of sea cuisine. The sirine
had many friends from the marketplace and, knowing that preparing meals placed
Aiya's mind in a good place, invited them over to cook. Aiya soon knew how to
prepare some elven, human, halfling, gnomish, and even dwarven dishes. As her
interest in cooking grew, she one day came to realize that she enjoyed it so
much because it took her mind off of Kai. At first, this realization hurt but a
calm came over her. Kai would not have wanted her to live in pain. She knew that
in the heavens Kai must be smiling to see her moving forward. Rather than
revenge born of hatred, or hardening so that she could not be affected, the best
way to honor such a kind soul was to not let herself be tarnished by his loss.
She began training with the Darsylon rangers, to both know how to better protect
her loved ones and to hone her hunting skills. She did not intend to stop
cooking, nor to stop studying cuisine, and every chef knows the benefits of
fresh ingrediants. In cooking, a spirituality also began to swirl in Aiya's
mind. Living amongst the wild elves of the vale for so long, she knew of many
druidic tales of the many animals and the wisdoms they embodied. She believed
she could heal the spirits of others by feeding them different animals, and thus
the wisdoms they impart. Aiya's new peace was put to the test when her beloved
Wawa died of old age. Aiya buried her dog beneath the brush where it first
saved her life. Teary eyed, Aiya hugged her adopted mother and left the vale.
The sirine understood, Aiya was a young woman now and it was time to prove to
herself that she had the strength to move forward, untainted by cruel Thera.
Guidance of the Eternal Witch

Aiya did well in the Theran mainland. The rangers taught her many things,
many of which aided in her dream of being a chef, such as the proper way to
dress a kill and how to identify many different types of herbs. She met
with a few of the Heralds of the Eternal Star and they became fast friends.
It wasn't long before Aiya was a Herald herself. One day Aiya was asked for
help by some friends she had previously met with slaying undead that infested
the Mausoleum in Galadon. To her surprise, Graun, a spirited Herald dwarf was
waiting there. He assisted the young intrepid adventurers in their quest. The
eve turned sour as a pair of Scarab worshipping wizards attacked. The younger
attacked the wood-elf's companions, the infamous Undaraxyl attacked Graun.
Aiya again watched helplessly as those closest to her fell. She had pleaded
with the attackers to stop, but only seemed to encourage them, so she ceased.
Her friends were strong of spirit and wanted to press on, and so she stayed in
that wretched place, watching the corpses sway to and fro. She left shaken,
large crowds of people reminded her of the undead and so she spent her time
hunting and cooking, but even in the wilds that she had always found so
therapeutic, she could no longer move as surely. Aiya set out to find the
Eternal Witch, Ishuli, in hopes of focusing her fragile spirit. Ishuli was
extraordinarily presentable, a vision of proficiency. Aiya confessed her slip
of focus and professed her dreams of nourishing Thera in mind and body. She
promised to fill the Eternal Library with books of that purpose. The Eternal
Witch was very polite and well worded. She accepted the young wood-elf at the
library and offered advice about Graun, which worked like a charm. When Aiya
next met Graun, and after she had cooked a meal he claimed was the best he'd
ever tasted, she invited him along to go fishing for trout on the Nanthor.
The dwarf actually seemed to be having a blast on the rapids of the powerful
river. They had so much fun she suggested they raft her favorite river, an
unassuming brook that turn into even rougher rapids. As she unwound, the
inspiration she needed grew within. Page after page poured forth, her dreams
forming structure and direction. Aiya's confidence returned, her aim sure
as ever. As Aiya sat near a waterfall, pacing her writing with it's roar,
she penned the last page of her book. Ishuli appeared, pleased, and marked
the Herald's writing hand. An idea for a new book began to churn in her head.
The Manifestation of Wonder

Aiya's life had been hexed, favored, and won. Throughout it all she remained
young at heart and found happiness and camaraderie with many friends over
the years. She found somewhat of a fame for her efforts in the culinary world.
Around the time she turned 300 years old, Aiya found herself in her Lady's
shrine, looking upon a plot for a garden someone had tilled. Ishuli appeared
before her, looking tidy as ever. It seemed to Aiya there was a bit of pride
in the Goddess' smile whenever she looked upon her, something the chef took
great comfort in. Their conversation turned to food, as it often did, and
Lord Raltevio appeared. Whether curious of Aiya's talent, nurturing the
threads of fate, or simply hungry, Raltevio proposed a game. Aiya would cook
two dragon based dishes, one dragon of the Divines' choice and one of Aiya's.
Ishuli and Raltevio decided upon the ancient white dragon. Though a deadly
beast, there were two friends of Aiya already present when the game was
decided and the three quickly found more to aid them. After the hunt, Aiya
thought about the other choice. She had a recipe for bronze dragon, but
bronze dragon served with ancient white dragon seemed insignificant. She
thought about the midnight dragon, she did have a recipe for black dragon as
well. Then it flashed through her mind, that fateful All Hallow's Eve when
Kai told her about the dragon in Blackwater. She had found out that the
rumors were true in her travels, and not only that, but it was indeed an
ancient dragon which dwelled there. It was a much more difficult hunt, but
in the end, they brought down the dragon which had unknowingly started Aiya
on the path she now traveled. One of her companions happened to contract the
plague in the den, and ended up tainting the meat of the dragon during their
battle. Aiya hadn't realized, although was suspicious of the meat, taking
only two cuts from the tail of the giant beast. Those cuts turned out to be
infected too. Luckily, the immortals didn't seem affected by a bit of plague.
Whether intentionally or not, Ishuli and Raltevio had pushed Aiya to conquer
a mystery of her past, one that led her to ruin previously. As she thought
about the dangerous hunts, she realized how capable she'd become. She'd known
so many great warriors who flourished and got stronger, that to her it seemed
almost as if her own talents were standing still. She was no longer that
child, too scared to dart out from under the foliage. Aiya's mind gave way
to wonder as she imagined conquering the forgotten bastions of Thera's
brutal past.
