Description
Friendly yet stern eyes meet your gaze as you stare apon this slender
avian. His lithe figure moving with grace and fluidity makes barely
a sound as he passes by. From under light leather armor you see patches
of brilliant white feathers giving way to mottled tufts of deeper gray
feathers, signs of weathering by age and battle. A sharp beak chipped
and cracked from what could only be vicious blows, protrudes from his oval
shaped face, below two obsidian eyes dotted with small gray points.
Under a hooded shawl only a small remnant of a crest can be seen topping
his feathered head, obviously torn off in combat.
Role
Akiran's Past
Added Fri Sep 9 23:53:18 2005 at level 33:
Akiran was born, like most of his kin, in the Arial City. His parents
raised him on the simple priciple that in life if something does not
feel proper, then it probably is not. Learned at a young age what his
parents were talking about when they said such. He knew he felt bad
inside when he did something wrong, as all children do at some time
in thier childhood. And he also know the goodness and warmth he felt
from doing things proper, and helping those in need.
And so Akiran lived, lending a hand wherever he could. Giving spare
food to beggars, handing a few hard earned coins to someone in need were
just some of the little things he did to honour his parents teachings.
He even joined a small martial arts club high atop the clouds to help
condition his mind and body to the same feelings he had in his heart.
All was good until one day Akiran returned from his lessons with
his Sensei to find his home raveged, and the lifeless corpses of his
parents stiff and cold on the floor in an increasingly large pool of
blood. He could tell thier death had been long, and full of pain.
Observing his surroundings he noticed the family's safe chest had been
broken into and looted of all that was in. Choking back the tears and
realising his parents were dead to a pack of simple burglars whose greed
was larger than thier hearts, he sweared vengeance on all that is dark
for he knew nothing that embraced the goodness in people such as he,
could have commited such an act on his parents. He gathered his training
sword and headed off to his dojo, to continue his studies. Once he
had mastered more of his art he would put it to the task of destroying
all things evil.
Akiran's Curse
Added Sat Sep 10 00:03:42 2005 at level 33:
After a few years of training, Akiran set to his task. He had been
in a few skirmishes with those of tainted hearts, but he had never
really slain any of them. He fought a giant of fire one day, and
with passion and fury slew the beast. As the last breaths flowed from
the anti-paladin's lungs, the young assassin though of his parent. He
had feelings of happiness and vengeance, but welling up inside him
was something else. He felt like he was just as bad for murdering
the dark knight as the feind was itself. What made him any different?
He knew he was fighting for a greater good, but taking a life is just
that, taking a life. Akiran used his mind to calm the feelings and
hide them deep beneath for he knew he could not waver on his task.
And so he drew his sword one last time from the beast, wiped the blood
from it and set out to slay another who would harm the innocent.
Time wears Akiran thin.

The feelings would not go away. They haunt him every time he slays
another, yet still the mature assassin puts the feelings deep into his
mind, locking them out of the real world. As he has grown older
he has also grown just that much wiser. Akiran beleives that with
causing the destruction of evil will eventually cause the destruction
of himself. He has to accept the fact so he can keep burying it
within himself. With every darkheart he slays, he gains a peice of his
parents back, but also loses a piece of himself. His sharp humor, wit
and debonaire style mask a tormented soul beneath.
He has yet to let any know of his feeling for he thinks it will only
make him weaker and unable to complete what he had vowed to do.
Enlightenment

The pain welled up for years, Akiran finally decided to speak of his
problem. He chose the most unlikely of people to discuss it with. One
who he had barely met, but yet seemed to sparkle in his eye. A young
human warrior, female, who showed the light shone deep in her heart, as
Akiran felt it used to within his own. He spoke with the woman about
how for years he had stalked the darkfriends to avenge what he had
lost early in life. He has lost the qualities that made him stick out
when he was so much younger. Instead of going out of his way to help
those in need, he was out to slay those who would take as he was taken
from. He should have been focusing on protecting those who could still
lose what he has lost. Only through the destruction of evil can this be
achieved and putting others above himself will help put the dark
thoughts that plagued him for so long, into the past forever.
