Description
An imposing woman born from the wilds, Alanabra's unkempt black hair is wild
as a mane as the most ferocious beasts.Dark smears cross her bare skin, and
sticks and leaves in her hair completes the barbaric picture of this woman.
A large and pointed, yet not excessive, nose is flanked by sparkling golden
eyes, giving her face an almost regal appearance amongst the unruliness of
her hair. She is over six feet tall, and her lithe muscles lay tautly under
unusually pale and weathered skin.
Role
Totem of the Hunter King.

Ages ago, one known as the Wolf of Joheem walked the realms of Thera,
bringing about the Hunter King's return with the aid of the Goddess
Amaranthe. His clan was the bearer of the Totem of the Hunter, carried forth
from his clan's ancestrial lands as they sought to establish a new home which
they called Askan-Joheem. As the last of the line, Andrlos bore this duty.
The Totem of the Hunter King was not forgotten in the barbarian city of
Ulun-Joheem. It took ages until the city grew enough in strength to be able
to send forth a recovery party to find the fabled Hunter's Totem, twin to the
King's Standard held in the high halls of the Holy of Ulun-Joheem.
From the portents of her birth day the eclipse of the rising sun by the
setting full moon, Alanabra was the prophesied child to be sent. She was
raised within the temples to Joheem, and taught the ancient ways of the
Askan-Joheem. She was taught to commune with dreams the Hunter King who once
more slept. Joheem knew not where his Hunter's Totem lay, but knew it was
beyond his reach or any of the Ulun-Joheem as they lived currently.
Journey to the Theran Lands.
Added Sun Jun 28 12:43:54 2015 at level 1:
It was upon her eighteenth birthday that Alanabra set forth on her foretold
journey. She left with a great escort of barbarians and clerics of Joheem.
They traveled through the seasons, over verdant forest and fruitful plain,
mighty river and sweltering deserts to ascend the spine of the world in the
harshest of winters, separating what she knew, from the mythical. Over these
great passes this party traveled and many perished, unable to withstand the
elements, and with no knowledge to navigate the great peaks many avalanches
claimed lives.
This band was downtrodden and weary when they finally descended from the
great peaks into a great dark forest. Things beyond their dream waited in
the shadows. Corpses come to walk once more. These foul creatures were torn
asunder, but not before they were able to encircle the remnants of this rag
tag party. Her escort circled tighter and tighter in a wall of muscle, but
it was the whispers upon the wind that saved Alanabra from the fate of his
fellows. She knew he would not live to see another dawn if she fought, and
there are times, when even the Hunter must retreat for rest. It was to the
tree tops she took, and swung from limb to limb to escape her pursuers.
It was not until she neared a small settlement that these undead stopped in
their pursuit. Alanabra stayed to the shadows near this place, stealing food
as she could, and listening to their odd tongue. Slowly she pieced together
a garbling of this language and set forth deeper into the woods further from
the town to her front and the foul beings to his back. She set forth to find
the Totem of the Hunter.
It was here in this foreign land, her story truly begins, armed with only a
broken tongue and rough mannerisms to speak, and with the might and cunning
of the Hunter to aid her.
Tracking the Harvest Moon.
Added Sun Jun 28 13:44:07 2015 at level 5:
From her early days in this bewildering land, Alanabra had heard speak the
name of Joheem's mate, Amaranthe, from outside the windows of cabins in the
woods to whispered in thanks in the fields of harvest. She stalked the
shadows near these people, even hiding in the open helping in the harvest
with shawl wrapped around her face in order to find out more about this
Goddess. Only after much effort to find her in the words and deeds of humble
folk, did she turn to her ancient practices of meditation. She delved deep
into her slumber of prophetic dreams to seek the Hunter King to ask of his
Mate. In this foreign land, her dreams only spoke to her like whispers upon
the wind, unlike the reverberating howls that would shatter her thoughts as
she dreamed in Ulun-Joheem.
In these distant voices she heard speak of the Goddess of the Havestmoon as
one of three. All three were what attracted Joheem to his mate, but one above
the others. Alanabra heard the delightful yelps of love making maiden, and
the Crone's sorrowful call of the successful hunt, both of which pleased the
Hunter King.
But it was the steadfast words of the Mother that he claimed drew him. The
mate that would produce time and time again. The mate that would teach his
young. The mate that keep stride in the hunt, and tear the throat out of
their prey. The mate that would wrap her young in her bosom to protect from
the harshest winter winds, and the mate that knew the paths to the watering
holes in the deepest droughts of summer. This was the mate, the Mother, that
attracted him first to the Goddess. This was the mate that kept his fury in
check until the day of his slumber.
It was the fate of the Moon Goddess Alanabra must delve into, to find herself
closer to Joheem, and the path of Andrlos, the Wolf of Joheem. This Trinity
must be uncovered if the Hunter's Totem was ever to be found.
Covenant of Joheem.

Many moons passed into many seasons. In a quiet moment upon her third Summer
Solstice in these foreign lands, Alanabra sought direction in meditation. Her
dreams of Hunter King had become more infrequent the further she was from
Ulun-Joheem.
But she knew that if she did not keep the Covenant of Joheem, and repeat its
Litany, then even the faintest whimper from the Hunter King would be missed.
Keep holy the Sacred Hunt.
Dispatch the weak, and harry the strong.
Accept an honorable surrender and submit to those of a higher station.
First share of the Hunt goes to the strongest among the Hunt.
Do not suffer the Pack to tend your sickness.
Tend to the Den, and raise the Pack in the Hunt's traditions.
Do this, and Joheem Hunter-King, shall bless the Hunt and grow the Pack.
Hunt of the Seasons - Prelude.

One day, as Alanabra was traveling down a road reeking of blood and carrion,
a mysterious howl upon the wind was heard by her. It was not until she found
solace in the forest that it became clear, and its purpose known. Within the
howl she heard of the murky path that laid ahead of her, that the scents are
ancient and obscured. And that where the Hunter's Totem would be found is
known by some, but those that know it hoard its location close.
Upon the howl, she found direction. Increase the pack in the lands, she heard
call. And it with this direction, Alanabra's nose carried her south upon an
ancient and musky smell, mixed with blood and dust.
It was in the furthest forest, that the smell of old faded, and the smell of
blood and pain took over. She looked about her, and saw wolves lopping
through the woods of moving ancient trees. It was the end of Winter, but not
yet spring as the snows still clung like a blanket to the ground. She found
the trail of these wolves, where one track, became two, then four, and the
packs trail lead to the Hollow, their den.
Outside this den, bad spirits gathered, spirits of Agony and Misery were
feasting on the spirits of pain and death. With deliberate steps, Alanabra
entered this Den Hollow, to find the Red Mother in the throws of labor. Six
mewling pups sought milk, while the Red Mother still thrashed in the process
of birth. Alanabra pulled from her satchel herbs, and calmly applied them to
the swollen mother, and slowly massaged out a baleful green eyed black pup,
the final of the litter. The spirits of Life slowly took back this sacred
Hollow, and banished the banal spirits.
The Red Mother with a sigh lifted her head as her pups sought their feeding
places. This sign of acceptance is where Alanabra would begin her Four
Seasons of the Hunt.
Hunt of the Seasons - Spring.
Added Mon Jul 6 13:37:34 2015 at level 23:
Alanabra was familiar with the Hunt of the Moon, and how it changed depending
on the Moon's Face. But it was with the Red Mother's Pack that she began to
understand more, how the Hunt changed through the seasons.
The Spring is a time of plenty. A green flush overcomes the land, and with
the prey's young flourish. But also at this time, the Pack's mouths are
growing, and becoming increasingly more ravenous. The Hunt must provide, from
this time of plenty, if the Pack is to grow.
But at this time, the bearers of the young prey grow extremely weary and
protective. This young prey is slow and cumbersome, not knowing their own
feet. To hunt at this time, speed is used to separate the young from the old.
Often times a single wolf, can separate a deer from fawn, or sow from piglet
during the Spring with speed alone, drawing off the parents, and then
returning to the abandoned prey.
Hunt of the Seasons - Summer
Added Mon Jul 6 13:38:51 2015 at level 23:
During the Summer, Alanabra realized how far a pack must travel. By now the
pups have ventured forth from the den, following the Red Mother for miles.
Their endurance an innate gift they were born with.
It is during the summer the Pack must rove far to find their next meal. Their
prey, like their pups, have grown accustomed to their feet and hooves, and
move far with their parents. It is during the summer that tempers grow short,
and the spoils of the hunt are often fought over, because food can become
very scarce and the Hunters very weary.
Once upon the game's trail it is still a long hunt. They pack moves quickly,
following the track often time for miles. By now the game is often aware they
are being stalked. But eventually the game must rest, and it is in this lull,
that the Hunt succeeds, if the Hunt can fight the temptation of exhaustion.
Hunt of the Seasons - Fall.
Added Mon Jul 6 13:40:38 2015 at level 23:
The fall once again brings a time of plenty. Alanabra was taught by the
wolves to watch the animals in the fall. They grew fat and slow, as their
kept their heads in the brush and grass to feed. They put on thick layers of
fat in preparation for Winter.
But also in the fall, the Rut happens. Great bugles can be heard echoing
through the trees and mountains. Scrapes on trees tear the velvet from their
antlers, but also leave a clear trail to the prey. The stalk grows short, as
the male animals clash with each other in great bouts of strength, but often
leave the lesser of the two weak and injured. When possible, the pack quickly
dispatches the injured.
But when injured cannot be found, still the great males are raging. Guile and
Misdirection are paramount now. Alanabra watched One-Eye lead a great elk
maddened with lust and hate into a thicket, to great for its mighty rack of
antlers. One-Eye nipped and darted about, causing the elk to grow even more
irate and irritated, until it became too encumbered by the brush to move.
When it could move no more, One-Eye ceased its bugle in its last call,
tearing out its throat. One-Eye also bears the scars and lessons of not
hunting this way successfully, his missing eye.
Hunt of the Seasons - Winter.
Added Mon Jul 6 13:42:27 2015 at level 23:
The Winter, like Summer also is a lean time of hardship. The Red Mother is
pregnant once more, and the pack must prepare for the litter of Spring. So it
is in their Spring Hunting grounds that she makes her den. In the winter, the
smell of the prey lingers a long time upon the snow, so finding prey is not
hard. Unfortunately, many of the easier prey such as deer and hog have long
since fled the forest for much lower meadow lands.
This leaves much larger and braver or smaller and cautious prey near the den.
Rabbits and voles are easy enough to track and kill, but often not enough to
feed the pack. No, it is the bison and elk that remain in the thick forests
that are the prize. One kill can last a pack nearly a moon cycle. But these
animals are often too large to hunt alone.
The Winter tests all the hunting skills the pack has learned, and culminates
in the greatest hunts. With strikes and harrying tactics, One-Eye leads the
pack in the hunt of a bison. The Bison charges through the deep snow, but the
leader stays a step ahead, leading the prey up a mountain. Quickly Blood Maw
and Sister Moon, so called for the mark on her chest, tear at the great
beasts haunches, before breaking past his nose, again leading the beast up
hill. Eventually, the Bison to its knees in exhaustion, proving their birth
right of endurance, speed, and guile greater than that of the Bison. Most
importantly, it is in the winter, that the true blessing of the Hunt, the
combined efforts of the pack, can overcome the greatest of prey.
It is here, over their greatest adversary, the Pack lets out a great Howl. In
this Howl many things are conveyed. A prayer to the fallen's spirit. A cry to
gathering of the pack. And perhaps most importantly, a prayer of thanks to an
ancient spirit, Joheem.
