Description
Her hair is an untamed mess, wild curls tangled with leaves, twigs, and a few
stray feathers. Smudges of dirt streak across her skin, uneven and haphazard,
as if applied by wind and careless movement rather than deliberate touch. Her
almond eyes flicker unpredictably, ever seeking, ever aware, filled with an
untamed energy. A streak of dried sap clings to her forearm, its presence
unnoticed or simply disregarded. She gives of a scent of earthy moss, crushed
herbs, the faint sharpness of smoke. Her posture lacks stillness, shifting
fluidly, as if guided by instinct rather than thought, ever restless, ever
ready to leap into motion.
Role
The Ritual Begins

A kindling fire crackles in a dimly lit hut. Three elderly men sit in silence,
their faces etched with the wisdom of countless seasons.
The First Elder of Dunge finally speaks. "First Ranger Jhail reports increasing
skirmishes between the forces of nature and the undead along our borders."
The Second Elder of Dunge exhales slowly, his voice grave. "We can no longer
remain isolated. It is time to understand what is happening beyond our land.
Though our ancestors fled Thera long ago, we must take action yet again."
The Third Elder of Dunge nods in agreement. "The ritual of Dunge must be
initiated to find the most suited youngling and send them into the world. The
fate of Dunge hangs in balance. It has been generations since our forefathers
abandoned Thera to live in peace, but peace is fragile. Our strongest children
must undergo the Ancient Rite of Dunge to determine our path forward. We can no
longer remain hidden, we must partake in the civilized world once again."
The First Elder rises, his gaze unwavering. "Our children will face the rite.
Only one will succeed." He lifts his head to the heavens and utters the solemn
words, "Nature gives, and Nature takes."
The elders chant together: "Nature gives, and Nature takes."
The ancient Rite of Dunge, once known in earlier history as the Ancient Rite of
Survival, was used as a means to choose the strongest leader in times of dire
uncertainty. Only the strongest and most suitable child would survive to become
our leader, our fate, our hope.
The villagers gather at dusk, chanting together "Nature gives, and Nature
takes". Drums are heard, herbs and incenses burns. The four children that
has answered the calling of Dunge arrives.
Peliea, first daughter of First ranger Jhail.
Andianna, second daughter of First druid Arn.
Torn, fourth son of First warrior Baez.
Lhio, adopted son of First Magus Sheolnion.
The four children are led into the forest to a location known only to the three
elders, and thus, the ritual has begun. The villager's chanting will continue
for one day and one night, and if no one comes back before that, the ritual is
deemed a failure.
Thunderborn
Added Tue May 13 16:15:08 2025 at level 18:
Early dawn, in just under twelve hours a scream can be heard in the fringes of
the nearby forest.
Led onwards by the chants, Andianna comes crawling out from the forest towards
the chanting villagers, she could not walk, only crawl, she could not think,
only react to instincts, her body was torn asunder by the four elements, fire,
earth, air, and water.
The three elders approached the terrified, witless child and through sheer
force they are able to forcefully pour the prepared ritual healing drink of
Dunge known as "Forgotten dream", down her throat. Andianna quickly passes out
and her limp body is carried into the elders hut, as soon as the hut is closed
the chanting quiets down and the villagers return home.
Within the hut the Childs body is prepared according to tradition. Scars and
burn marks are covered in natural dye tattoos, her wounds are treated with
special balm which quickens the effect of Forgotten dreams.
The child Andianna, second daughter of First druid Arn, exists no more, the
child's body is now considered the embodiment of Dunge's spirit, its force of
nature, and next leader. The forgotten dream erased past memories, all that is
left is the now, and the Childs destiny and willpower.
The child is now known as Andianna Thunderborn, the embodiment of natures
wrath.
Two days after the hut was closed, Andianna Thunderborn takes her first step
westwards to Thera to find the way forward for the village of Dunge and its
inhabitants.
How Andianna joined the resistance
Added Thu Jul 24 06:29:45 2025 at level 51:
Andianna had been sent to Thera as the weapon of Dunge with a clear mission.
Find out what could threaten the peace at Dunge, she did this by enrolling at
the grand Academy of Galadon to find the knowledge her people desperately
needed.
The politics of Thera ran deeper than she'd expected. Among the scrolls and
lessons, she found writings of the Outlanders, however they spoke not of the
Sylvan Order where her ancestors said they came from. She naturally joined the
druid guild as her spirit was wild and close to nature. She also thought that
the druid Guild master of Galadon would be able to inform her. However this was
not the case, the Guild master of Galadon was someone who did not live as he
preached, it became evident quite quickly as he tried to teach the pupils that
he was not at home within the wilderness, his knowledge was from literature and
not empirical.
After graduating the Academy she sought knowledge in the wilderness and from
the grand library of the Lyceum. There, amidst forgotten lore, she uncovered
glimpses of Thera's ancient past and the truth behind the Sylvan Order's
decline. Combining the tales of Dunge and the knowledge of the Elysium she was
able to locate the ruins of the Sylvan Order, and within it an artifact filled
with knowledge of what really happened. Over months, she journeyed across the
wilderness, unearthing two more stones. Each deepened her understanding of what
had befallen her ancestors and what was now stirring again.
She now understood the link between the Outlanders dream of Thar-Eris, her
ancestors path, and what lies ahead. Her journey lead her to a great tree where
she spoke with the Harbinger of Thar-Eris about the restoration of Thar-Eris
and how it tied together with the old tales of Dunge.
With the wisdom of the Outlanders Andianna was able to reach the shrine of Lord
Ergush in search of empowerment and to gain the strength to complete her mission,
which was to join the resistance against the unnatural forces that has invaded Thera,
and those that destroy wilderness to hide behind stone walls and man made laws.
But it was not as easy as that, Andianna was sent on a quest by Lord Ergush to
learn and understand the laws of Nature.
Finding herself
Added Thu Jul 24 06:47:02 2025 at level 51:
When Andianna completed her training at the Academy and joined the Outlanders,
she still carried the hardened, emotionless shell shaped by the Ritual of
Dunge. There was no space for joy. No time for friendship. Her purpose was
survival and resistance.
But that began to change.
Within the Outlanders, she felt something unfamiliar, a kind of warmth and
security. The camaraderie of the Wardens, the brother and sisterhood among the
Sentinels, and the shared thrill of the hunt with the Reavers. Piece by piece,
she discovered new emotions, formed new bonds. And as those connections
deepened, she began to transform and grow into her true self that was always
meant to be.
She became both teacher and pupil. She guided those newly called to the Tree,
encouraging them to venture into the wilderness alone, just as she once had,
trusting that the wilds would uncover its secret to them, as they had to her.
In those quiet, hidden places, she had uncovered secrets few others knew.
It was an experience that reshaped her inner being, completing what the ritual
of Dunge had begun. A path that strengthened her spirit.
From the Nightreaver, she learned the art of the hunt. From the Sunwarden, she
gained wisdom and the weight of responsibility. From the Harbinger, she learned
balance, to remain calm and analyze and balance the force of the Tree. Each of
these teachings became a piece of the greater whole needed to restore
Thar-Eris.
Andianna was no longer simply of the Tree. She was at home where her instincts
and morality was at one with the Tree, with her brothers and sisters, and with
nature itself.
She had found herself and with that a force planted by the ritual of Dunge was
set loose, as it was always meant to do.
Return to Dunge, and the future ahead
Added Thu Jul 24 06:51:17 2025 at level 51:
It was a long walk back to Dunge, but for Andianna, strengthened by her
journey, it required far less effort than the path she once took as a young
girl. She moved with purpose and ease, a far cry from the uncertain steps of
the girl who had left what must have been ten, maybe twenty years ago.
She had grown in many ways, body, mind, and spirit. Her senses sharpened, her
presence secure and calm. As she drew nearer to Dunge, she felt the shifting
pulse of nature around her, a quiet familiar joy rising in her chest with every
step closer to home.
She even managed to surprise the First Ranger, who had grown old in her
absence. Their reunion was strange and warm. When she left, Andianna had been a
weapon, but now she returned as a fully realized person, forged anew by her
experiences.
The First Ranger greeted her cheerfully, though not without a touch of
embarrassment. In classic Outlander fashion, Andianna had dropped a small burst
of flaming seeds from the Tree above him, down the back of his shirt, a playful
gesture, a running joke among the Outlanders though not something that the
First Ranger had ever experienced on duty patrolling the fringes of Dunge, like
an elemental game of tag. It surely broke the ice after some initial alerted
footwork.
The village of Dunge had not changed, it was like a village frozen by time, the
faces were older, children were playing freely, and even though many did not
know who Andianna was, they felt an unexplained bond with her as she passed
through the village.
The tent of the Three Elders stood open. She was expected. Whether they sensed
her return through instinct or through the lingering magic of the Ritual she
knew not, but they knew she was near and they had known that she would come for
many moons.
Long discussions followed, spanning days, then weeks.
Andianna reported all she had learned, the fall of the Sylvan Order, the rise
of the Outlanders, the Reavers joining the cause, and the balance that had been
forged within the Tree between the forces of evil and good, all for the sake of
restoring Thar-Eris. The three Elders were eager to hear every detail. A young
boy scribbled diligently beside them, tasked with recording it all for the
Barks of Wisdom, something that had not been updated in generations.
When the First Ranger joined the discussions from time to time, Andianna shared
stories of her hunts, how she fought the different unnatural beings of Thera,
and those that brought them into the world, it would prepare Dunge for fights
that would soon come, if Andianna were to fail in her mission.
The Elders reached a decision: Andianna was to relocate her grove to the
Outlanders and take up the mantle of leadership and fill the vacant position of
Harbinger of Thar-Eris. She was to lead the forces and the village of Dunge
would train more fighters that would seek out the Tree, now that Dunge knew of
its existence.
