Description
A monstrous yet handsome looking beast lumbars before you.
Normally the dirt covering their smooth human like form and
beastly legs affirms their ugliness. In this case the dirt
seems to add to the handsomeness and bravado of the beast.
His most distinguishing feature is that even though he is
covered in filth and dirt, his hair and fur are perfectly
kept. Darkly tanned skin shows where the armor and dirt do
not protect him from the sun. His bright green eyes catch
your attention as you look her over. He lets out a glint
of a smile as he notices you looking as he continues humming
his song.
Role
Basics
Added Wed Apr 8 20:55:19 2020 at level 22:
Arjandrou believes in the love, enjoyment and preservation of life and
he will go to extreme means to show his foes. On one hand, he does
respect the forests and chose to live there. On the other,
he realizes what must be done and understands the
cycle of nature. A creature dies, and it's remains feed
the plants. A wolverine hunts a gazelle, a lion eats an
elk. This is all nature. Death is part of nature, as is Life.
This is why every creature must cherish every day he is
alive, the other side of cherishing, what ever form it takes,
is true blasphemy. Death can come swiftly, without warning and
in many forms.
++
Arjandrou dislikes being a pawn to civilization. He
wants freedom in it's purest form. He finds his own
means for survival, if he must succumb to purchasing
an item from a city shopkeeper, he will make the
sacrifice, but will do more damage than benefit the
city. There are many means to the same end, the righteous
path to that end is the right path. There are countless
who are bound by the cities and make unnecessary
purchases regularly. And Arjandrou refraining from his
scarce purchases will not put a dent in a cities economy.
He has noticed most of his guildmasters spend their time in the cities.
This is unfortunate. Additionally most of his profession go about
entertaining in cities for their small piece of the pie.
They need to be shown the proper path but the best way
to do this is to bring the city walls toppling down. Then
they can go back to the true nature. The right nature. This
is what Arjandrou sees as the righteous path. Building
rapport with them requires some sacrifice. But the ends
to him justify the means.
++
He was sixteen years old when he decided to dedicate his life
to the bard's guild. He hates staying in cities, but being a
bard seemed to make the most sense given his talents and gave
him the most choices. It was as free as it he could be at the
time. This decision made without knowing his true origin or origin
of his Kin. All he remembers is waking up in the Emerald wood
one day. After giving it a chance, city life seemed so meaningless
to him, bound by laws, restricted by walls, he wanted to be free.
Free of ties, free to roam the wilds, free to fulfill his will, and
free to fulfill the will of the ancients. But the only way he can
truly be free is by ending structured, ordered civilization. He
sees the only true freedom is achieved by restoring Thar-Eris to
it's rightful state. And it will take many like Arjandrou to fulfill
such a task. Any many sacrifices on all their parts.
++
Arjandrou understands those that live in civilization are
ignorant, and it may be possible to illumine them. But,
those that thrive on civilization's structure and uphold it's
values don't deserve any sympathy. Those that covet
Thar-Eris for their prosperity, the ravenous swine, the Empire
that fall. Him and many others like him.
Understanding and Core
Added Wed Apr 8 20:56:25 2020 at level 22:
Arjandrou understands the changes that occur in Thera.
Destruction, creation, the changing seasons bring both. Throughout
all this one must appreciate life, living it, enjoying it,
grasping it. He also understands that all things renew themselves.
Every day he is alive he thrives to renew Thera to what it once was.
And it is time for Thar-Eris to renew itself, all it requires is a
catalyst.
Dark Gods
Added Mon May 4 19:13:48 2020 at level 51:
Arjandrou has had run-ins with the darker Gods, Nalasul and Jormyr,
both of which he found himself surviving.. barely.
++
He fell into a collapsed mine shaft, prayed to the Gods of light and
Nalasul showed up. He had a finger he found on the ground in his
possessions and she found it amusing. This was good, he was able to convince
her not to ride him down the Eastern. All she wanted was the finger and
a ballad. He made the deal, used his words carefully, and sees it as getting
a Goddess of darkness doing a good deed. He mentioned her in the ballad but
it was mostly about him.
++
The run-in with Jormyr was more philosphical. The God was near the tree,
watching the chaos of battle, and grew disinterested. Just before he
grew disinterested Arjandrou asked him another question that peaked
the Gods interest. They continued the conversation, each trying to
make their point. Jormyr saw the Empire as necessary and just part
of the cycle, same as the Tree, otherwise it would be.. boring. Arjandrou
wants to see the Empire burned and That-Eris regrow in its ashes.
Jormyr called the bard's perspective limited and short-sighted. Jormyr
described the Empire like the fire caused by the storm. But the storm
does not subjagate for power, wealth, argued Arjandrou. Arjandrou asked
for an explanation. Tir-Talath, a city just south of the mountains was
the first example. Arjandrou still did not understand. According to
Jormyr the tree looks has little quarrel with the village. But when
Jormyr showed him the place, he did not think highly of it. Arjandrou
thought it was small, but the militia seemed very militarized and if
not weak, would be doing more to destroy Her. The next example was the
fortress, and then Darsylon. The village of Darsylon is akin to a bound
and gagged Arjandrou, was the Gods point. And almost killed him in the
process. Arjandrou believed the elves living in the trees was more
akin to a fly living in Arjandrou's coat. While the Empire was more
like a Frost Giant on his back. The God grew disinterested and grabbed
Arjandrou by the tail and flung him across Thera.
Realization of Inner Light
Added Tue May 5 00:22:14 2020 at level 51:
The dark Gods seem to have much interest in Arjandrou, but he
does not have as much interest back. Circumstance seem to favor the
dark Gods contacting him. And paying him interest. Perhaps a soul
they want to feast upon. But he is strong and the light inside
of him is shining brighter. He continues to live, love and enjoy
life. Nurture it and know his place in the cycle. He has begun
more greatly seeking the Lady Padwei, his Patroness. He has found
the place she commands and has begun his worship. Arjandrou is starting
to get some of his memory back. He has drunk from the pool of awakening
after wandering around the dunes. He looked around at the guiding stars,
the guiding heavens. He is where he needs to be.
Ardmund and Theorendus - The Shadowplane
Added Sat May 16 22:35:16 2020 at level 51:
Ardmund has been pressing the Wardens to strike the fortress, the
watcher, for actions Theorendus and some of his squires are doing.
Going to the shadowplane. Leaving the portal open for things to
escape. Arjandrou does not like it. Does not like the pressure
and infatuation from Ardmund. It is making Armund see in absolutes,
making Ardmund see in hate. Ardmund could not believe Theorendus
can also do good things. No this does not mean Theorendus does
not defile, but it does mean things are not so.. static and
absolute. Arjandrou was insulted by Ardmund, Ardmund seems
blinded by his hate. His mind is made up. Arjandrou has
reasons to think Ardmund is doing this to create a divide
in the tree. No longer can Arjandrou talk sense into him.
Arjandrou also does not like Theorendus constantly going
to the shadowplane. From what Arjandrou has learned, the portal
remains open and things can sneak out. Unfamilair with the place
himself, he does not know what is there but knows it is unnatural.
Theorendus does not leave a guard at the door and brings items out.
From the conversation Maeneekoni had with Theo, that Arjandrou was
witness to, Theo claims to want to close the place forever. But
wants to rescue his kin first. Arjandrou does not know that closing
it is even possible, nor does Theo, but the cost of constantly
going there, to learn more of it, is not worth the cost of potentially
sealing it. A better way to seal it is to guard the Scepter. Not
once has Ardmund gone with Arjandrou to retrieve the Scepter.
It is another reason Arjandrou does not trust Ardmund. Ardmund
also followed Theorendus to the place, again, to confirm Theo went.
Very odd behavior.
Ardmund believes the Wardens striking the Watcher is the only
way to stop Theo from opening the door again. Arjandrou does
not believe this is the only way and does not look forward
to the day he will have to make this decision. The Watcher
is innocent, and his life is precious, as is all life. While
this bickering about the orb as a key and the plane is going on,
Ardmund does not join Arjandrou on fights against the imperials,
or other defilers. It is very odd, and actions speak louder
than words. Admund needs to prove himself in the eyes of
Arjandrou. Theorendus needs to be convinced to stop going
to that place. Arjandrou also does not trust Theorendus.
Arjandrou hopes to seek Lady Padwei's guidance on this.
The End is Near?
Added Wed Aug 19 19:20:24 2020 at level 51:
Some of the memories from his early childhood are returning. Dancing
and singing with the pixies around in the Emerald forest.
"That is where I learned to sing and dance," he thinks to himself.
Some other memories return. But he is overshadowed by his imminent demise.
He is the only one left, from all his kin. He remembers Frahyel, the
tortured cursed Theorendus. He tried to save him. So much stubborness.
He partly remembers his family, but he is not sure. Maybe where he goes
will be where his family is. For now, though, he will continue to enjoy
every minute of every day.
