Description

An extremely bright shade of orange, almost of a blazing kind, seems to Surround this creature. Upon further inspection it becomes clear that almost Her whole body is covered with a vivid shade of that offending orange hair. The color of the face, the only noticeable feature lacking the hair, Seems a bit too dark, almost recessed in the shadows of the blaze. The black eyes are lost on that dark face, making it impossible to read The expression they carry or whether any emotion crosses the dark features. The strangely bulky frame and the tallness of the creature looks like Something to contend with, all the brightness nonwithstanding.

The Background

Alra was brought up in a brute-strength environment.
Those who failed were always laughed at, no matter how 
Hard they tried. And by all accounts, Arla has tried very hard.
But sometimes, all too often it seemed, there was no match for
A male strength in many of the endeavors. The parents urged her
To partake a more traditional, subsidient role in the society, 
But she had wanted none of it. Secretly coveting the fame and glory 
Often associated with the most renowned of the Fires, she has trained
For a long time, finding and picking the fights whenever she could, 
Only to be beaten in most of them. Then she happened to stumble upon 
The world of Magic. Accidental, really, for her wanderings and lust for 
A fight she can win in has taken her far beyond the home northwestern
Village of Klo, population 73, and into some mysterious place that she 
Only remembered falling through the earth to get to, and the wondrous cave,
Full of stately, if short, guards, and people in regal dress. 
In that place, there was a lesson under way, one for "Your Highness."
Arla vividly remembered the particular flicking of fingers just so
That a very old and odd-looking witch gave to that Highness that the
said Highness just could not grasp, and, upon somewhat involuntarily
Repeating the motion, an ice-cold something was felt through Arla's hands.
Just then, the witch face the curtain Arla was hidden behind and quietly spoke,
Seemingly both glaring and somewhat condensending "Begone!" 
Arla then found herself next to her small mud hut just on the fringes of Klo,
Population still at 73, and nothing much changing. After that, she knew 
She wanted to find out more of the outside world and its fights and, 
More particularly, how else "just so" motions can be made.
She is ready for the Fame and the Glory, although they are not yet ready for her.

The Empire

Compellingly simple entity to be recognized and work her way through,
Becoming one day a force to be reckoned with and perhaps more powerful
That everyone she ever knew, including her childhood friends.
The glorious Empire, to which she has decided to pledge her life, 
Will one day provide her the power and the recognition that she covets.

Education and fair speech

Some have observed that Arla is unusually well-versed for a fire, and 
Typically well-mannered, reserved and very calm in all matters.
Polite and at times even warm are not the traits associated with the giants.
The reason for that lies in her education during over a hundred years
She roamed around Thera, seeing all manner of people and places.
Especially helpful are her Magic studies, where it's very difficult
To flick a wrist just so and mispronouncing the words of Power leads
To a fizzling spell. That requires utmost concentration and thus she
Conditioned herself to be very calm and reserved, and, typically,
Polite to the extreme, even to her enemies, since that is a part of her
Concentration and focus. It is extremely hard to maintain that composure, 
But in order to make the simplest of spells work just some of the time 
Has required years of practice, and soft manners are much easier to maintain,
And it is especially pleasant to kill and maim someone after speaking softly.
In order to achieve a position of recognition it helps to be composed.

The seemingly short commitment to Empire service

Arla has always devoted her full attention to the matters of Empire while in Thera.
While some blades are out adventuring, she would be guarding the Orb or retrieving the Codex.
However, it is regrettable that the time she is forced to spend asleep is unpredictably
Large at times. Thus, it would be difficult to reach a position of power and glory
That she so desires, but she will sure try her best in the limited time she has.

Being on track

It took a few years, but the career has been developing just fine.
I have managed to garner a coveted Elite position within the Black.
I have also finally managed to find two rods of great power, 
Albeit it took a few decades of hard searches. The only setback 
That seems in the way of the greater power is how long the road took.
That is alright though, Arla doesn't despair at anything and will prevail.
I have given all I could, my life, my heart, and quite a few of my souls,
In order to serve the Empire. Rewards will come, yes, as they have.
