Description

This dwarf appears rotund and hearty in every sense of the words. His short stature, mingled with a round belly, make him look a melon. His skin is pale white, though most of it is hidden behind thick hair. He seems to take great pride in his hair, keeping it braided and oiled. The locks of hair dangle over his shoulders and belly, to his feet. His fat nose seems to be broken in a dozen places, ugly and deformed. He bears scars upon much of his exposed skin, indicating a life of combat. His meaty hands seem calloused and rough, with a couple fingers missing. His big, round eyes are brown, and set deep and high within his skull.

Role

Arisen from the depths of Thera

Added Thu Jan 6 10:48:57 2005 at level 11:
Sweat clung to Aroyang's brow as he worked furiously with his pickaxe.
With every stroke, came the satisfying release of rock from the mount.
And then all at once, the soil suddenly gave way to a hot white light.
Aroyang nearly went blind, his eyes having to adjust from the darkness.
"What thing could this be?" He asked himself, knowing it wasn't gold.
Once his vision had cleared, Aroyang beheld an image of magical power.
In the lower portion of the image, a village was nestled among mountains.
The townsfolk of the village could be seen fending off orcs and bandits.
One woman was being raped by two men whom wore imperial signet armor.
In the upper portion, Aroyang recognized his own mountain, the Arac.
Somehow, Aroyang knew in heart that this was a vision of today's events.
He had spent the last fifteen years in solitude, beneath his mountain.
And all the while, the world went about their business without him.
What terrible cost did that woman pay because he did not lend his arm?
Was there anything he could do to help send those orcs into Hades fire?
He had to find out, of that his heart was achingly certain. He screamed.
His outcry bellowed throughout the mountain, shaking the tunnel walls.
Only his expertise at building supports kept them from crashing down.
When at last he had expelled his last breath of rage, he made his exit.
He gathered all the supplies he could carry and headed for the village...

Aroyang Thul Arac

Added Thu Jan 6 11:01:24 2005 at level 11:
Aroyang was given Mount Arac by his father, Amaglask Thul Rihoem.
It is a matter of high pride for such a young dwarf to acquire such.
Which is why it came as such a shock to his kinsman when he abandoned it.
Aroyang left his home, knowing there would be no reward for his service.
But knowing all the riches in the land could never reward him enough.

The Adventures of Roy!

Added Thu Feb 10 23:05:06 2005 at level 40:
Aroyang has been living out his life upon the surface world for years now.
His adventures have included an encounter with the dwarf god Aarn.
In the encounter, the god Aarn congratulated him on a victory over imperials.
As a reward, the god gave him a barrel of ale and imbued him with new power.
His adventures continued, his quest against the taint taking him to the Chasm.
Shortly after slaying two enemy scions, the dark goddess Eshval found him.
She thanked him for his 'artwork' and offered him a place within her fold.
His keen sense of her terrible beauty brought trepidation. He tried to hide it.
He told her there was no place in her Fold for him or his beliefs.
And that he would continue to cut down the 'filth', not for her art, but the Light.
His life in the Light has become a steady walk now, though no less difficult.
As he sees it, the lustful and beautiful temptations of evil are to be expected.
It is one's reaction to that temptation that determines the fate of their soul.
