Description

As you look upon him you see that he is well built, tanned and have a rugged look. His facial features are hawkish, with a long pointy nose and a small sharp chin. His eyes are set deep in its sockets and are sharply outlined by dark-brown eyebrows that almost grow together. His hair is fairly long and held back from his face with a leather string. He is about 5'11" with long slender arms, though still quite muscular. His skin has a few scars and scraps, by the looks of it from fighting.

Role

Artonaar, A powerhungry hypocrit and fool.

Added Wed Jun 2 13:15:34 2010 at level 3:
Artonaar was born a farmer's son. His mother, a
calm and kind soul had died during childbirth so
he never did know much about her, except what he
had been told by his father. Artonaar's father
was a mean drunk, the little time he was present.
Most of the time he slaved away in the crop fields
trying to put food on the table. He loved his son
but he couldn't show it. The loss of his wife had
been too much for him, and in a way he blamed his
son.

Artonaar was often left to himself for several
days in a row. He spent that time on the streets
of Arkham, pestering the merchants with mischief
and practical jokes.

One sunny and hot day, Artonaar was particularily
bored. It was humid and the ocean breeze did not
do much to eliviate the heat. Artonaar, in his
usual mischievous way suddenly felt inspired to
go see his dad. This was not a common occurance
and Artonaar felt like playing a joke on his mean
dad.

With bow and string and a couple of arrows with
blunt tips he went to the fields and snuck silently
throught the high wheat. He had brought a bit of
flint, hoping to set a small fire to scare the
farmers. He snuck up on three farmers unnoticed and
set a small flame to one of the arrows he had prepared
in advance. Snickering to himself and his masterful
plan, he drew the string and let loose!

No action without an equal and opposite reaction.

Added Wed Jun 2 13:17:48 2010 at level 3:
He hadn't thought much about the heat and how it
dried up the fields totally. With water scarce at
this time, the farmers couldn't do much else than
stand and watch while a whole season of crops went
up in a huge blaze of fire.

In a panic, Artonaar turn around the way he came and
started to run. Unfortunately, he was spotted and
later scolded badly by his father. Later, it was
decided by the farmers that Artonaar badly needed
to be disciplined, and the thought of quite a harsh
to be disciplined, and they thought of quite a harsh
punishment. Getting rid of him was their top priority.

He was sent to Hamsah, and from there to Galadon.
His father had an uncle there, working in the docks
by the lumberyard. Not wanting anything to do with
this Artonaar, stubborn and selfish, saw a good
opportunity to work toward something grander. He
used what little guile and street smarts he had
gathered from growing up in Arkham, but it would
prove a difficult path to walk.

A couple months later, with the streets of Galadon
proving unforgiving and quite difficult to live on
Artonaar heard loud yells from the market. The Empire,
ever expanding and ever recruiting was promising
riches and power in exchange for loyal survitude.
These were words that struck right at the very core
of Artonaar's dreams...

A glint of power in the distance.

Added Wed Jun 2 13:19:26 2010 at level 3:
A priest, preaching about his god, Enlilth, caught
Artonaars attention more than the Imperial recuiter.
This was the first time in his life that he felt so
mysteriously drawn to something. At the same time he
was annoyed by the fact that he couldn't explain what
it was he felt. He had to know more.

This is where it began for real. Artonaar had his
mind set, and as stubborn as he is, none could disuade
him.

Artonaar's characteristics.

Added Wed Jun 2 13:21:05 2010 at level 3:
Artonaar lies, deceives and impose what little power
he has on others to gain what he wants, when he wants
it. When confronted he often turns tail and waits for
a better opportunity. He has a twisted image of
himself, and feels that he is worth many times more
than others. Arrogant and narcissistic. His quite
misled belief is that people exist to serve, and he
is the proper ruler. Though he wouldn't dare voice
these beliefs in risk of being mocked, killed or
worse, being put back on the streets with nothing but
the clothes he wears.

If he by no means can impose himself on others, he
will weave them into some false sense of loyalty and
and trust, then when opportunity arises, use it for
his own benefit. He doesn't know sympathy and he
doesn't care much for friendship either.

He isn't always very talkative, in fact, he usually
only talks when he requires something. Chit chat is
for the common man, and he is by no means common.
Talk is a waste of time, unless it is he who speaks
and then everyone should listen.

An earned promotion!

Added Mon Jun 7 15:28:06 2010 at level 27:
As the Imperial Assassin decided that Artonaar had earned
a promotion, a grin displaying much satisfaction played
over Artonaars lips. He felt that the shame pulled over him
by Odessieu, who gave the bloodoath and later became
anathema, had been leviated somewhat. Though this recent
success, he knows that trying times is ahead of him. Jiomar
who aspire to take his place as Shadow Lord have proven
to be a driven character with high standards, and a hard
to like character.

For now, Artonaar feels it is best to stay on his good
side, and later rip the rug from beneath his feet and
show him who the rightful Shadow Lord really is.

"Suffer through the hardships, grow stronger and more cunning."
Artonaar thought to himself, "they'll learn eventually that
it's my good side they should cater to..."
