Description

Black, feathered tufts stand up in crisp order atop the head of this multihued avian. The dark feathering gives way around his eyes to circlets of pure white, accentuated by numerous silver piercings that run in straight lines from the sides of his face across the top of his white-brown beak. His build is modest, though his movements seem crisp. Dark, feathered wings tipped with white are kept tucked behind his back, and appear as though they could open to a great span. His arms and legs terminate in sharp, gnarled talons that in spite of their curvature seem capable of deft manipulation of his armaments.

Role

Aseedz Descends

Added Sat Jan 28 10:07:32 2006 at level 1:
Aseedz, the third male offspring of a captain of the Arial City
Guard, was always something of an enigma to his family. Prideful,
selfish, and at times perverse, he snubbed his peers as the
royal training academy, and often clashed with his superiors.

The officers insisted on training them in the use of rapiers,
knives, whips, and the like. But Aseedz, while acknowledging
the uses of these weapons, insisted on fighting with much
larger and heavier arms. While many thought him mad, he trained
with great focus and dedication and eventually earned the grudging
respect of those around him.

Once graduated, however, Aseedz scorned the notion of joining the
palace guard. He knew he was destined for greater things, and so
left the city in the clouds for the realm below. His focus
remained on his training, and he believed that the breadth of
experience offered by the lower realm would bring him to even
greater prowess. For now, he would channel all of his will and
focus into self-improvement, until a greater vessel for his
dedication could be found - a vessel that would bring him to
power and renown.

Aseedz develops an interest in the unknown...

Added Fri Feb 3 20:55:47 2006 at level 24:
As Aseedz grew in power, his skill as a fighter became known
by his peers. The Empire tried to recruit him. The Tribunal
tried to recruit him. Falling victim to his clever tongue,
even the Eternal Star tried to recruit him. All knew, however,
that his combat skill was supreme, and there none who challenged
him that he did not find pathetic in their skils.

Aseedz pondered his future, and the power that would be his through
the riches of his dedication. Several he had spoken with talked of
a great power in the lands, great than that of the Empire - more
ancient, more secret. Aseedz now sought this power, knowing
only that the answer lay locked within the mind of one he had
thought a simpleton - the duergar Kruntorr.

This warrior had been the only one to present a remote challenge
to Aseedz, but beneath his skills there was clearly a knowlege
of the forbidden that drove him. Aseedz envied this knowledge,
sought to use all of his energies to learn these secrets for himself.

If it meant research, so be it. If it meant sacrifice, so be it.
Aseedz knew that above all, he had the dedication to succeed, and
the motivation to pour into his lust for power.

With his head filled with visions of power and victory, he now
roamed the land, seeking the knowlege of the forbidden.

A Turning Point

Added Thu Feb 9 17:56:54 2006 at level 41:
And so Aseedz searched the lands, speaking with many who
professed to know or to serve dark powers. Some would say
that such powers came from the Gods, and to seek them out
in their shrines. Others spoke of dark powers as secrets
even beyond the Gods, obtainable by only the most driven and
ruthless explorers.

The Gods of Darkness were as good a place to begin as any,
and with the dark approval of several of the Scions of
Eternal Night he sought out the dark gates of Eshval's
shrine. There he sat, before the shadowy archway, drinking
blood from the font of Eshval and calling upon her to bring
forth her dark power. While there, Aseedz met several
priests of Eshval. One, in particular, said that Eshval
carried a blank page on which to rewrite his destiny -
this interested Aseedz, whose destiny he felt, would be
mighty if determined by the Gods.

But in time Eshval did not appear, and even her priests
grew angry as the dark mistress did not answer their
summonses. When Aseedz asked them why they were ignored,
they would respond that the Gods had their own schedules,
and were not answerable to mortals. Aseedz grew disgusted
as time elapsed. What good are great powers they are never
available to be called upon? What good will a lifetime of
searching bring, if in the end there is only death and
finality?

And so, as Aseedz was traveling away from the shrine of
Eshval, he was set upon by the Imperial Blade Gharakha.
Forced to retreat, Aseedz was (once again) offered the
Blood Oath. Perhaps this was a message from the fates.
And so Aseedz took the Blood Oath, vowing he would not
remain long with such pathetic stature. He knew that
great power would soon be his - and it would be the tangible
power of control over the life and death of his subjects
through his dedication to the Empire.
