Description
A sinister human mage stands before you, wrapped in flowing black robes. His
ebony hair has been intricately braided and hangs evenly from the sides of
his cowled hood. Piercing predatory eyes survey his surroundings from within
the shadows of his cowl. His skin has been branded with strange signils
and markings of three snakes intertwining lightning bolts. The signils cover
every inch of his body, giving him a demonic aura of darkness and despair.

Mother, the end is nigh;
Heed my words now as I prophetize what will come to be. Thirteen death
knights work their unholy magic striving to free their imprisoned lord.
Zurcon the demon-god slumbers in his trapped oblivion. The Lords of the Light
and the races of Thera that joined forces to trap him must be punished. As I
begin my pursuit of magery to gain the power needed to serve my lord I give
warning. Those of the land that oppose my goal will be culled. The dark
beast will reward my loyalty when he is freed and I will revel in his terror.
Lord of Annihilation is coming and his legions of death dealers will
race across the heavens. I am dead to you mother. May you die alone and
wander what you have given birth to. I tell you this to bring you sorrow in
your final years. Your son the healer will never be.....

Report from Galadon

*Please add this report to the dossiary on Zurcon in the Templar library. It
relates to the growing number of the demon-gods disciples.*
My Templar-general,
As your initial concerns were investigated I would like to report my
observations to you at this time. I have been watching one of the suspected
disciples of the demon-god Zurcon. One Atengsul Parl whose exploits were
brought to my attention by your initial findings. I have been following this
young mage for several months as he has been excelling through his studies at
an astounding pace. I have not witnessed any public support of the demon-god
and the mage has been traveling and aiding lightwalkers and those in need. I
have not witnessed any dark deeds or his participation in the rituals of
Zurcon.
Yet, despite any lack of direct evidence and his outward charitable demeanor,
I cant help but loathe this young man. My holy abilities tell me something
is not right. There is something dark at the core of his being and I feel he
is masking his true nature. I cannot openly accuse him of this but I will
continue to watch and wait. I do not believe he suspects he is being
surveilled but as he gains power I must be cautious.
On an unrelated note, I was awoken several nights ago to find an unseen
presence in my bedchamber. Some small creature, radiating hate, had broke
into my home. It fled immediately upon my waking. I have not located the
source of this fiend or identified its nature.
I hope all goes well with the Templar counsel,
Yours in faith,
Beldin ac Demenoth, Squire knight of the Templar Brigade.

*The following parchment was delivered to the Templar counsel on the 27th of
the Month of the Heat.*
Please accept my condolences,
It is with my deepest sympathies at I inform you on the untimely demise of
one of your young Paladin knights who was residing in our city. He was found
dead in his humble abode, murdered it would seem. Squire Beldin ac Demenoth
has been identified as this victim.
Our finest Tribunal detectives are working on the murder investigation. It
appears robbery may have been a motive as his possessions were disturbed.
Our initial autopsy has been inconclusive and the cause of death is unknown.
He bares several large claw marks on the sides of his face; origin unknown.
It also appears that something was shoved into his mouth, as evident by the
bruising on his lips. There was a thin layer of foul smelling slim around
this area.
Upon the conclusion of our autopsy we will be releasing the body to the
Galadonian Clerics guild for a proper funeral.
Yours in condolences,
Sgt. Anton West
Tribunal Magistrate
A call to arms

* This missive is to be passed to each of our order. *
Call to arms,
I am informing all knights and squires that Atengsul Parl is to be hunted
down and made to pay for his crimes. Our investigations have led to the
discovery that he is behind the recent murders of several of our order. He
has been linked to the corruption at Loch Grymnear temple and for the recent
spread in Zurcon worship. This extraplanar mage bares the foul mark of
Zurcon on his flesh and commands a mastery of the foulest denizons of hell.
Be on your highest level of alert for once he has identified you as foe, you
will be met with the fiercest beasts imaginable to garner your silence. The
blood of many innocents has been spilled and we must strive to ensure this
corruptor is slain.
Yours in faith,
Commander Rex Dulonsen, Templar-General
Enter the night

The archmage whispered the last words of corruption and the thaumaturgic
circle flared under the magics unholy pull. From within the protective
circle the shadows deepened and a monstrous being stepped forth. Cloaked in
darkness it surveyed its surroundings with feral eyes. It glanced at the
mage as it suddenly lashed forward with an explosion of movement. The circle
flared again as the hellspawn tested the limits of the containment circle.
As quickly as its rage was vented the demon turned calmly and nodded its
horned head to the mage.
The archmage began to chant as he walked toward the protective circle.
Without looking down he stopped mere inches from the outer edge and removed
his cowled hood.
I bind thee, Azutar, Greatest of the Mors-Gravis, Pillager of the Limbo. By
the power of Zurcon, I bind thee to the Annihilators will.
The demon clenched his fists and leapt to the mages side as the binding magic
became complete. A swirling vortex of air suddenly appeared at the mages
other side, and focused upon the demon with an aire of intelligence. The
demon barked out a triumphant scream of rage as the mage whispered a second
word of magic, sending the unholy alliance through time and space.
The war against the enemies of Zurcon had begun.
