Description
This man appears to be about 5 foot 9 in height. Dark black
greasy but tidy looking hair that falls down to his shoulders.
He has a smooth looking face, with a well sculptured nose and
two pale blue eyes. A well trimmed goatee hangs about two inches
below his chin. He looks to take a lot of pride in his appearance
but seems to fall a little short when it comes to his outfit.

The establishment was unusually full this evening, the tables packed and standing
room only at the bar. There was a restlessness in the air, as the previous act
had just departed to only a mild chorous of boos.
Atrellio looked from behind the curtain nervously, this would be a difficult crowd
he thought. He was down on his luck already and he needed the coin, unfortunately
as dodgy as this place was, the more upmarket bars had already rejected his request
to perform.
Trying to put other thoughts aside and solely focusing on the coin he might make,
Atrellio stood and marched out on to the stage.
Clearly he was not the act the people were there for though as the grumbling begun
as soon as the patrons laid eyes upon him. They were perhaps expecting someone of
the opposite gender and wearing far less clothing he thought to himself.
With a flourish of his cape Atrellio introduced himself and began to strum on his
guitar, a family heirloom passed down from his father, and his father before him.
The crowd began to quiet down as the music began to calm them down. With a change in
chord Atrellio began to sing, and as he did so one of the strings on his guitar broke.
With a twang and a screech Atrellio lost his place and stuttered for a moment.
It was all it took as the crowd started to jeer, and as he looked up from his guitar,
some kind of vegetable, perhaps a tomatoe smashed him squarely between the eyes.
The jeers quickly grew to laughter an all of a sudden an onslaught of vegetables were
flying his way.
Atrellio jumped to his feet and tried to escape the stage as he slipped on the floor,
now covered with vegetables of all kinds. The laughter grew in intensity and as he
picked himself off the floor, he saw a dark shape approaching at speed before the thrown
chair hit him on the side of the head. As Atrellio fell to the ground he had a moment
of clarity before falling onto his guitar, smashing it to pieces as he blacked out.
Minutes perhaps hours later Atrellio came to his senses, he was lying in the stables
with all his belongings. Which mounted to a purse with a few copper, and now a guitar
broken beyond repair. He couldn't even make out his family name D'Shari on the the base.
His cape was torn in a large number of places, but that at least just took new patches,
and well it was probably more patches now than whatever the cape once was.
With a head that felt like it had been run over by a horse, Atrellio struggled to gather
his thoughts, but one thing he knew, he couldn't keep this up. There had to be a better
way, a better life. One with respect instead of constant indignity.
Chapter One

Atrellio gathered his coin purse feeling the weight of it. He had long given up being picky
about who he played for. As long as he could get coin out of it, one way or another. Whether
via coin in hand, or by selling the possessions of the slain. Coin was coin at the end of the
day. The type of music, well the audience would get what they desired, not what Atrellio cared
for. It was a means to end though, coin would help him establish himself and gain the respect
he knew he deserved.
He was not sure how his father would have thought of such things. But then his father had died
some time ago now. His illustrious performances on the stage, and the fame amounted to nothing
when lying ill on his death bed surrounding by hands reaching for his last few coins, those
few that had not been wasted away on women and cards.
The last remaining reminder, well the guitar was gone now too. A tragic tale perhaps but coin and
drink bought numbness to dull that when needed.
As Atrellio headed back to the guild hall, he could hear the Imperial Recruiter yelling out about
the Empire, the power and the glory.
Now an entire Empire as an audience, well now that might be something. Perhaps worth a thought or
two.
Chapter Two

So it was a few days later, enticed by the Imperial Recruiter once more, Atrellio took that blood oath
and bound himself to the Empire. It seemed that Atrellio was the last in the current batch of recruits,
and often he found the others training had already advanced beyond his. But he took what audience he
could even if it was smaller than desired.
With citizenship came many benefits, a target audience for one. An actual Palace to meet with the
other Imperial citizens. An actual Palace...
It also brought with it new enemies. Seemed that taking citizenship put a target on his back, but well
considering in the past he got vegetables and even chairs thrown at his head, was that really such a
big change. At least now he could put a name to his foes.
The Empire was currently without an Emperor. There was a full council, and Atrellio had no way of knowing
how the vote would go. So he went out of his way to assist the council members whenever he could.
A little inconvenience now, could bring great dividends in the future, or so he hoped.
