Description
Elven eyes with a bright emerald color peer out from beneath loose bangs
of bright orange hair. Pulled back into a loose ponytail, which falls
down below her shoulders, pointed ears become very obvious on the side of
her head. Her face carries with much of the beauty of the elves, with an
almost unblemished, golden skin. There is, however, one notable
difference. While tall and slightly slender, it's very obvious she is
more muscular than an average elf. Her human heritage becomes obvious
further down from her head. Her armor covers a modest bosom, and her
legs show both muscle and grace. At full height she stands at about 6
feet tall. Around her neck is a small medallion, engraved with the mark
of one of the houses of Darsylon. When you look closer, you see that....
Role
Rebellious Spirit

Laurenthillias Aye'lya Xyrriethwathas, daughter of the minor noble house
of Xyrrieth, always seemed to have a rebellious spirit. Despite her
father being especially hung up on non-elves, she found herself in love
with a human, and despite his protests, brought home Nuvar Kittitatz, son
of a wealthy merchant. His bright orangish-red hair always stood out
among the elves of Darsylon, but despite the whispers and glares, he was
always smiling when with Laurenthillias. Making sure his protests were
made apparent, Laurenthillias' father allowed Nuvar to stay, for he knew
she barely in her second century, this was just a phase, and he was but a
drop in her long life. Throughout the years there, Nuvar was slowly
given more leeway in the house, eventually accompanying Laurenthillias
and her father to the palace of Darsylon for a few days. It was shortly
after this trip they learned Laurenthillias was with child, and that was
when Nuvar re-earned the contempt of his father-in-law. Thus,
Avellirellas Aye'Lya Xyrriethwathas was born into a family with a loving
father and mother, but was always looked down on by her grandfather, and
most other elves.
Despite looking very elven on birth, the keen, discerning eyes of the
other elves could tell of her mixed heritage, even if her hair wasn't a
bright, flaming orange. She grew up always slightly ostracized, and was
forced to spend a lot of time with her mother and father, never truly
having a playmate. Despite his contempt, her grandfather would still
take her on trips to the palace, and it was there she finally met another
full-blooded elf who didn't look down on her and accepted her for who she
is. Dallithirillenas, a member of the royal guard for the palace, began
to volunteer to watch the child while her grandfather was meeting with
the other elven nobles, or outside guests to the palace. It was here she
finally forged a bond with another full-blooded elf, and as she grew,
Avellenirinellas looked up to him as second father.

Now 16 years old, Avellirellas trains with Dallithirillenas, while her
family meets with dignitaries and merchants. With sweat dripping from
her forehead to the ground, she takes a seat and sets down her sword and
shield. Dallithirillenas knelt down next to her, and chuckled. "You
shouldn't tire yourself out so much, I get you feel you have to prove
yourself, but you don't have to." Without looking up she gave a weak
smile, and just as she looked back up to him to respond, there was a loud
crash down the hallway, followed by shouts and the clanging of metal.
Dallithirillenas quickly snapped his head toward the door and yelled
"Stay here!", as he swiftly and silently moved to go defend his home.
Of course Avellirellas wasn't going to listen, and was close behind her
mentor. Before he realized she was behind him, she caught a glimpse of
the aftermath of the commotion. Three bodies lay in the hallway of the
palace, an elf and two humans. It took her a moment to realize one of
those bodies was her father. Tears rolled down her eyes as she tried to
push her way toward him, but was held back by her mentor. "No, you
shouldn't be here!" Eventually her struggles turned to sobs as she
collapsed into his arms and he just held her, comforting a girl who just
lost her father. Dallithirillenas carried her to a guest room after a
few hours, where she promptly collapsed into sleep, exhausted both
physically and mentally.
The investigation into what happened lasted days, and Avellirellas
couldn't stand not knowing anything. It wasn't until her training
sessions with Dallithirillenas resumed that she finally got answers.
"You're father tried to rob us of a precious artifact, and had an
accomplice.", he told her with the most sympathetic voice he could must.
He gave the girl a small brooch, made of silver, and encircled by a ring
was a dagger that seemed to be on fire. "The other man had one of these,
as well. I'm sorry...", he trailed off, as he lost the words in this
girl's tears, a girl he had grown to love as his own daughter.
Justice, Purity, and Retribution

Now in her late twenties, Avellirellas combs through book after book.
She has taken to absorbing as much information as she can, on gods,
secret societies, and the world in general. She's searching for a
reason, any reason, her father would have betrayed her and her family,
her home. Dallithirillenas told her all he could about what happened,
but there was one thing she could never figure out, and that was why he
did it. What compelled him to steal? Was it money? What about power?
After years of trying to solve this riddle, she came only to one
conclusion. He was human, and he was easily bent away from his place in
the light. She knew his blood ran through her veins, so she would
dedicate herself to being as pure as possible. Having already made plans
to leave Darsylon, she read up about the world, and found her path in
life. She would take the training she had with Dallithirillenas, and
combine it with prayer, become a paladin, so that she may live a pure
life, and push away that human drive to do evil, as she saw it. She
couldn't stand that such evil lived in the world, and so she would squire
herself to the fortress, and bring retribution unto those who would bring
harm to innocent lives. She found purpose in the teachings of the
jaguar, and live to fight those who would threaten the purity of the
realms, as well as to prove to herself she was pure.
The time soon came to leave, and after a long farewell to her mother and
her mentor, Avellirellas set off to take her place in the world. As her
mother waved, she couldn't help but smile faintly, knowing as much as
Avellirellas tried to avoid her human heritage, her drive to prove
herself as pure also came from that side of her.
Being a squire, my journey, and the Virtues
Added Mon Oct 23 10:22:55 2023 at level 34:
*A small journal lies open as an orange haired half-elf takes her time
writing in it.*
So my real journey has become. I have been to see with my Lady, I have
been accepted as a squire to the Holy Brigade, and my first visit with
the my Goddess has truly shown me how much I don't know. First, though,
being a squire. I expected my life to change dramatically upon taking
the mantle of squire, however, it's change in a much smaller way than I
anticipated, but also in a way I did not. Perhaps my naivety led me to
believe that I would feel a surge of purity, or strength, upon being
accepted into the brigade. However, I feel much the same, just much less
lonely. It's a place I feel accepted for just me, which is far from my
norm. Before it was only a select few who would look at me like a
friend, or family, but now there are many. My biggest fear, however, I
can see possibly coming to fruition. It makes me glad I'm not taking
this path alone. Bazz has reassured me they are always there to help,
but each fiend I end, I feel the impact of that kill less and less. I
have only slain a few, but I can already see the path this leads down.
Numbness, apathy, both easily ways I could find myself corrupted. It is
not so plain to feel yet, but I must be vigilant, and I'm sure there will
be many more to come, for it is my duty to leave the world better than I
entered.
And now, my goddess. Lady Baerinika, has already shaken my own thoughts
on purity. I quickly realized I have much to learn, the books I read
didn't do her, or my path, true justice. I believe I sought purity of
myself, and I think I still do, but it feels more seperate from what I
believe purity to be. An evolution, she called it, not perfection. As
I've thought and thought, I see it, I think. An evolution, change. Our
spark to change the world, make it better, even if only a little, that is
purity. And I've thought much on the Virtues as she asked. What each
means to me, and which fit me and why. I believe I'm almost ready to
face her again, I already feel changed from my journey, more confident,
but I know I still have so much to learn.
