Description
A human of average height stands before you, his face slightly
shadowed by a hood loosely pulled over his head. Beneath
the hood, however, the young man's face is entirely nondescript -
boring even. His nose is straight and fair, his jawline
narrow and showing just the lightest hint of stubble, and
although your gaze seem to lock momentarily with his dark hazel
eyes, you're not even sure he notices you. His dusty black hair
is neither long nor short, and styled unmemorably. His clothing
over his light armor looks loose and comfortable, but is nothing
that would draw any attention or notice.
If you happen to look a bit closer, you also notice:

"Excerpts from the Journal of a Quiet Trapper"
Of late I have been seeing a strange child in the market
begging for scraps. It certainly looks like a boy, but
childhood often blended sexes to my eyes. I'd like to think
it's a boy, because I've seen what happens to wandering
girls who have become lost. Why, I often see the same
little girl crying on the western edges of the market,
waiting to be reunited with her mother. What will happen
to her if one of those Blades, the truly monsterous ones,
get their hands on her? She'll be ch__

My Childhood (Character Narrative)
Added Sat Jun 6 20:46:35 2015 at level 10:
I do not remember my parents. My first memories were of
silken markets and hungry eyes. It was difficult, but
there were some who did not exploit me. There were some
who would not prey on my weakness. I did what I could.
I remember the first time I was sold. I was six, and had
recently grown taller than a large gnome. Larger than
the one who bought me. A pity he was eaten by a demon.
He was not one of the bad ones.
I remember the first time I was raped. I was twelve.
The Master had a taste for young boys. It was difficult
but such was life. I would not let it kill me. Pleasing
that one was easy, I went to his room and let him paw
at me until he had his fill. It would only take a few
moments before he'd climax and cast me aside. It was
fourth time it happened I noticed his boning knife on
the table next to the bed.
Aife (Backstory part 2 - An outsider's view)
Added Sat Jun 6 20:47:46 2015 at level 10:
Aife, the odd boy Master Saeresae bought in his last trip
has not been getting along with the other boys. He never
speaks, and a couple of the more braver boys have been
calling him Ahtieli's Last Bastard. I believe it's more
in reference to her golem creations, for the boy truly
seems almost...dead? He does get along quite well with
Master Saeresae I'm told, though I do hear the screams
that come from his room at nights...
I caught Aife staring at me the other day, though I did
not notice him at first. I've noticed he sometimes
almost seems to carry his own swath of shadows with him,
as crazy as that sounds. I don't think he knows any
sorcery, and that crazy nickname couldn't be real...
could it?
Keanad has disappeared. The other boys are distraught.
The Master had summoned him to his chambers, but I had
thought Aife had already pleased him that night. I
am afraid for the rest of the boys.
My encounter with Truth (Character Narrative)
Added Sat Jun 6 20:48:32 2015 at level 10:
I grew comfortable in the shadows, watching, learning.
The other children were weak, even the large ones. Weak
because they dreamed about being saved, dreamed of
becoming a great Imperial War Master, or valiant Knight.
While they dreamed, I watched. And listened. And
learned.
The first Master I killed was the third with a taste
for young boys. Saeresae Dulmond the name of that
Truth. I saw him kill one of the boys, just butcher
him for daring to cry during his rape. I watched.
Listened. Learned. Saeresae kept a loaded crossbow
by his bed. His breathing would become rhythmic when
he fell into a deep sleep. It was easy.

A small moment of conversation in a nomad trading post.
---Did you hear, Ahlsas is dead. Found in his Nexus
---loving tent! With a slit throat!
--I was told he was given a butcher's grin, from ear
--to ear!
-----Fell news, Jhajar is dead as well! I heard from
-----his sons that all his slaves have been freed!
--I do not like the sound of this, have the Reavers and
--and wardens been targetting us again?
---No! Ahlsas was not even robbed!
Truth (Character Narrative)
Added Sat Jun 6 21:09:38 2015 at level 10:
If you watch long enough, the world becomes Clear. The
Truth of it all is right there. Violence begets violence.
The strong cull the weak. Appearances are deceiving.
I remember when they finally caught me. I had killed 16
Masters by that time. I just was sloppy on that last
one. Rushed my strike. Hit an artery. Left a bloody
footprint on my way out of the Palace. No sense in fighting
the guards for their numbers were great, and my escape route
blocked. It doesn't matter. Time is on my side.
The Sultan's dungeons were quiet. Truth was all around me
I just had to open my eyes. I was free. Free to watch.
To learn. To listen. And to strike.
I am unchained. The world is open. The shadows are
ripe and plentiful, a place to watch, listen, and learn.
Tell me what you see.
Name Change - A test for the masses (Character Narrative)
Added Fri Jul 10 07:35:29 2015 at level 28:
I visited the Lyceum recently and came about a tome, "The
Sacraa". I sat and I read it, perched on the window sill.
I sat a long time after I finished, thinking.
It states - "The profane are blinded by The fog of illusion
That descends upon the weak, Who use morality like Blinders
to keep them from Seeing themselves."
It also states - "The Pure shall see truth, Unblinded by
illusions or lies. They shall recognize the nature Of all
men, and embrace it."
Although I believed these words, I needed to see. With my
own eyes, the blindness the masses choose to stumble through.
So I changed my name. The spelling. The pronounciation.
But only slightly. Aife to Ayfe. Enough that people who have
met me should notice.
I received two different responses to this test. One,
I was recognized as a cousin of myself and was asked,
"Do you know Aife? His name is similar to yours." From
people who thought they knew me. Blasphemous.
The second, ignorance. It went unnoticed. From people
I had recently met, and made sure to emphasize my name
too.
The fog engulfs not just the Self, but the Realm.
A test of the Truth (Character Narrative)

Jeede approached me. He saw me. Through the fog. He is
the Voice of the Scarab, and we share similar views. He
is a master of the Sacraa, and I can learn from him.
I will.
He's entrusted me with a rare Scarab text, the "Scarabite
Catechism", for me to study and protect. To understand. To
enact.
Failure is not an option. I am not weak.
