Description
Here stands a frail, sickly looking drow. Though he
is certainly not old, something appears to have worn on
him with great speed and no mercy. His skin appears as
if it is about to fall off his bones, no muscles at all
holding it to his bone. Sunken, black eyes, pale gray skin
and sparse black hair contribute to his sickly figure.
He stands hobbled over, face to the ground, pupils far up
attempting to see in front of him. He is dressed in
haggard robes, and sandals with holes in them. Hung about
his belt and neck are hideous artifacts depictings demons.
Though these artifacts are ancient, they appear to be kept
in very proper shape.
Role
Sacrifice
Added Sun Sep 18 19:13:58 2005 at level 1:
A newborn drow male sat upon a sacrificial table, dagger
eagerly awaiting his blood next to him. He was to be this
week's offering to the dark gods. The priestess walked into
the room, wasting no time to pick up the dagger and begin
her incantations. As he raised the dagger above the child
she squeezed him tightly. She paused, the child's mouth
opened wide, but no words escaped. Instead a vicious fireball
acompanied by the shriek of a demon filled the room. Their
lives were taken quickly, and the shrieks subsided, leaving
nothing behind but a drow child with his mouth open, making
not a peep.
Symbiosis
Added Sun Sep 18 19:19:26 2005 at level 1:
As Azrael grew, exorcism after exorcism, sacrifice after
sacrifice failed. The demon within him refused to let him
die. It seemed as if the demon would not survive without
the drow. And the drow would certainly not have survived
without the demon within. The drow also when old enough
realized he could not talk. He could barely make any noises.
But the demon granted him abilities beyond speech. He was
able to form the words to spells long before others. He
also could learn these spells without ever having read them.
He remained within the drow city for quite some time.
Not only a target for murder, but a subject of great study.
It was not long, however, that the demon became seemingly
bored with such a life. And guided the Azrael to the surface.
And the drow went without the slightest of protest.
Spirit Within
Added Tue Oct 11 12:20:45 2005 at level 33:
As time on the surface grew, Azrael began to realize that
the demon within him was not as chaotic and cruel as he
once thought. He began to see that the demon actually let
him do nearly everything he pleased, aside from speak aloud.
Azrael began to think that perhaps this was simple a way
to make its presence known. The more and more Azrael thought
about his situation, the more he realized the demon had
given him nothing but blessing. And so he began to worship
what lurked within. He saw it as an extention of his very
being. He saw it as his spirit, his god.
Obedience
Added Wed Oct 26 00:48:46 2005 at level 44:
The more and more Azrael obeyed his spirit, the more
infrequent his possessed fits of rage became. Though he did
not remember what occured durring the time when he was
completely controlled by the demon, he did realize that
they happen, and when they happened. His fits dwindled
to when the demon seemed to be excited that Azrael wished
the same as it. Azrael even noticed on a couple occations
he had shrieked words that he had thought. Words the demon
agreed with. Azrael began to see his unyielding obedience
was quite benefitial and wise.
Demands

The last thing Azrael remembered was the jerk of his head,
forced to stare north to the Imperial Palace. Then all went
black. His eyes rolled back into his skull. Blood and
vomit began to pour from mouth, eyes, and ears alike. Like
a zombie he made his way towards the Palace. The demon within
demanded the Oath.
