Description
Black and dark shades of blue cloth are suavely blended in between the
odd, and mismatched array of trinkets and armors to make this half-drow
appear quite stylish, in a sense. His skin is a lighter, deluded hue of ebony
that tell of his drow heritage, while his hair is a light, milky blonde
paired with a set of light blue, nearly ice colored eyes that give away
the roots of the other half of his heritage. He is quick to smile,
pleasing to look at and seems to have a natural charm to him that overlies
a darker, more intangible aspect about him.

Birth

Badduah was born to the daughter of a Matron of one of Teth Azeleths first houses while she was on an
expedition to the surface to capture slaves to bring back to the underdark. The drow party had been on
the surface for about a month when they came upon, defeated and enslaved a small barbarian village.
One of the captured barbarians, a massive blonde haired and blue eyed human, had caught the eye of
the drow daughter. She chained up in her tent and gave him the choice to submit to her and give her
pleasure or lose his manhood. Needless to say, the barbarian made the obvious choice.
It was that choice that caused the expedition to linger on the surface several months longer than
planned because it caused the drow daughter to grow fat with a child. As the firstborn daughter, she
decided it wouldnt be wise to her Matron mother in such a state, so she planned to wait and give birth
to the child. Once she had given birth she would dispose of the child and return to the underdark. When
the day came to execute this plan she found to her dismay that she could not kill the child as she had
planned. Despite all of her cruelty, some motherly instinct prevented her from doing harm to her own
flesh and blood.
At the time Badduah was born, the drow party had been silently camped in the mountains south of
Hamsah Mutazz. Knowing that she could not return to the underdark with her child, the daughter came
up with an idea to see him raised safely. She called for an audience with the Sultan of Hamsah MuTazz
and proposed a deal to him. She explained to him her purpose of gathering slaves on the surface to take
back to the underdark and promised to pass over his lands with her drow party if he were to take her
child and raise and educate him in his palace. Now, the party and had gathered the number of slaves
they had needed months before, however, the Sultan had no way of knowing this and gladly agreed to
her offer. He would have been a fool not to avoid a confrontation with the drow for such a cheap price.
And so Badduah was handed over to the Sultan and the drow returned to the underdark.
Early Years
Added Sun Dec 11 12:43:23 2011 at level 24:
Badduah grew up and was educated in the palace among the Sultans many children and the children of
the nobles of his court. He was raised to a spoiled lifestyle for the Sultan made certain that he wanted
for nothing, fearing the drow may come back to see if he had honored his side of the deal. Badduah
showed to be a clever child during his education and developed quite a colorful personality. He also
proved to have a natural gift for music.
By the time Badduah became a young adult, the palace had grown too enclosed for him and his
appetites had grown too immense. He came to love all the base and material things that life had to
offer. Gold, women, influence or drink. It did not matter, he craved it all. He found himself spending
much of his time down in the taverns and brothels of Hamsah MuTazz.
Badduah used his cheerful and charming personality that he had developed shamelessly to his
advantage, mostly on women, but, sometimes in business dealings. Despite all this, it couldnt be
denied that below this charismatic exterior laid a dark heart with even darker desires. One could
speculate on how this came to be, whether it was a genetic trait he inherited from his wicked mother, or
it was his absolute need to satisfy his every lustful desire, or it was that despite having been given every
material possession in his youth he could want he never had strong parental guildance, no one could
say. The one thing remained. Badduah was dark to the core and cared little for anyone but himself.
Living out among the people in Hamsah MuTazz, Badduah began to make a good living as a musician
and gain some fame as a composer of racy and bawdy songs that the type of people who frequented the
seedy taverns and whorehouses loved to hear. Eventually, he used the coin he had made to open his
own house of ill repute. He called it the Achy Leg Tavern and Brothel. As the proprietor of this depraved
business he began to get his hands into all kinds of minor criminal activities and gained an influence in
local politics.
Becomming a Bard

One day, a woman that worked for him named Lysel brought to him some trinkets she had stolen off a
man who had been fool enough to take her back to his inn room and pass out while she was still there.
This was a common part of business as most of his whores were also thieves and he got a cut off of
anything that they earned. One of the trinkets was a peculiar triangle shaped object made of bronze
with odd markings carved into it. Badduah decided to take it to a man he knew to have the object
inspected so he could determine its worth.
The man inspected the object and told Badduah it was a talisman that when used by someone who
possessed the proper skill to use it, it would grant that person a spell of protection. It was magic.
Badduah was suddenly fascinated. Not just with the object but with magic. He of course knew about
magic. Who living in Hamsah didnt? It was just that his cares had always been elsewhere to learn much
about it, until now, that is. He asked the man if there were other such objects around and the man told
him there were many in the world, and some that were incredibly powerful. Badduah was mesmerized.
His lustful appetite took hold and knew he had to learn to use these powerful items.
It didnt take Badduah long to decide on how to pursue this new goal of his. He knew that he didnt
possess the talents to be a magician, but, knew that there were other places he could learn about
magical items, such as the Bards guild. He had long considered joining the Bards guild being an
accomplished musician but had been so wrapped up in his other pursuits that he hadnt found the time
to dedicate to it. Now it seemed time to do so. He made Lysel a partner in the Achy Leg so that she could
take over the day to day operations of the business and not be apt to cheat him out of his coin and went
off in search of magic items, adventure and perhaps a woman or two.
Entering the Guild

Badduah went on his way and joined the Bards Guild in Hamsah. There he began to learn about the
influential power of music and his voice. His dark inner personality led him to select a tragic repertoire,
however, for additional practice he continued to compose in a genre he was comfortable, that being
bawdy tavern songs. While some songs could fit into the comedic repertoire Badduah felt they also had
a darker, more loathe and tragic side to them as well.
The guild also taught Badduah how to read magical scrolls and brandish talismans of magical power,
which he found thoroughly fascinating. He had little experience with these items and made a point to try
and search out where these items could be found. To his surprise he found them all over the place, he
merely had to keep his eyes open. He found a few choice shops that sold items of tremendous use. Even
so, he felt that he hasnt scratched the surface on locating these objects, especially the ones of a more
powerful nature.
It was during this period of exploration and growth in his guild that Badduah made the decision to
pledge to the Scions of Eternal Night. The Scions were known to be seekers of immense magical power
and he hoped that he could pursue his magical interests within their walls. Having been from Hamsah,
Badduah was aware of the Scions dark and nefarious reputation, which did not bother him in the least
as keep down he felt akin to that kind of nature. That being said, he did not want to attract unwanted
attention by being a pledge to the cabal before he felt he was ready to handle it. He was thankful for the
time he spent involved in the local politics of Hamsah and being the managing proprietor of the Achy
Leg, as it taught him how to maintain a clean image on the outside while limiting the exposure of his
involvement in darker activities. He had become quite proficient at hiding his true emotions and
intentions with a smile and some friendly words. Badduah employed his outgoing personality and skills
of being tactful forward, relying on it to fool would be enemies while he strove to attain the power and
knowledge he lusted after.
Research
Added Thu Dec 29 13:04:40 2011 at level 43:
Badduah has grown in his guild and has improved in his skill as a bard, which is a good thing as many
have now come to know him as a pledge to the Scions mostly by virtue of his defending the shadowy
nightwalker. During this time he has come to know some of the members of the Scion cabal. Scree
Palewind has taken the most time to discuss his motives as a pledge to the cabal. Scree directed him to
formulate a detailed plan of magical research, to which Badduah did.
Badduah looked into his own motives as a source of inspiration for developing a research topic. He drew
on his fascination for magical talismans and scrolls and noticed a sound similarity between those magical
items and music. To use a talisman properly, one must understand how to invoke the magic within it just
as one must understand how properly to use an instrument to produce the desired sounds. In both
cases, grip and finger positions, movements and pressures can be of the utmost importance.
Furthermore, to use a scroll one must understand how to recite and enunciate the magical words, just
as with song, one must know the words and how to emphasize and stress the syllables in tune to
produce a proper melody. Having realized this Badduah decided if one could combine the magics behind
talismans and scrolls into music the results could be endless. The power of magic coupled with the
already significant influential power of song opens the doors to unlimited possibilities.
And so Badduah developed a more detailed plan of executing this research to present to the Scions and
hopefully impress the Advisor enough to gain entrance. Badduah is quite dedicated to accomplishing
this goal for on the surface he may behave like the suave and sophisticated man he thinks he is, but,
deep down he is really just a sleazy whorehouse owner lustily chasing after his own selfish desires.
A new Scion
Added Thu Jan 5 16:52:41 2012 at level 47:
Wind and sand swirled about Badduah as he stood before the entrance to the Chasm. He couldnt make
out the Shadowy Nightwalker in the opening beyond, but, he had no doubt he was there. Badduah
smiled to himself as he reveled in what was about to happen. This would be the first time the
Nightwalker would greet him and let him pass. He was now a Scion. Badduah had just come from
speaking with the Advisor, who after discussing his research with him, granted him a place in the Chasm.
The place didnt come without a price. Badduah could sense from the Advisor that failure was not to be
tolerated among the members of the fold and he would still have much to do to prove his worth. This
was evident right off as the Advisor set a task for him to do. The task had the feel of an initiation rite to
it. A symbolic way of proving he belonged in the Chasm and the task was no easy feat, either. It would
require all of his creativity, charisma and a little luck to execute. As daunting as that may have seemed,
it didnt frighten him. His lust to retain his new place over rode any fear or apprehension that he felt. He
would not let this opportunity slip away easily.
