Description

A handsome young man stands proudly here, displaying a stoic yet friendly expression upon his face. Pale grey eyes look out upon the world, their piercing nature seeming to examine every detail of the land. His hair is exceptionally well-kempt and clean, suggesting this knight pays supreme attention to even the most minute details of his life. The crisp Elven features of his face are framed regally by two thin braids of honey blonde hair. Sharply pointed ears protrude from his mane, reminding all of his High-Elven heritage.

A Plea for Admittance to the Guild

Some men are born to be merchants. Others are natural teachers. Some, 
even, find their calling as diplomats.

I am not these men.

My name is Baelyron Beralian. As was my father, and his father before 
him, I was born to fight for the righteous cause.

My father was a Knight. A devout warrior of the Light. He was a Paladin, 
and did honor to the title. I never knew my mother, though serving as my 
father's Squire I never had need of her. I served my father, as he had 
one day served his. And when the time came, I would take his place and 
continue in his place.

That time came sooner than I ever expected. One who's life is combat must 
come to accept and even welcome that final battle. Unfortunately, such an 
honorable death was robbed of him. Using the right concoctions, the 
smallest knick could fell the greatest hero. And that coward of a Drow 
knew the right concoctions. My father was a great Knight, but he was 
still a mortal one. He fell before he could draw his sword.

I am alone now. I have no family, I have no friends. I have no place to 
truly call my home.

But I have my training. I have my father's wisdom. And perhaps on my 
finest day, I have a glimmer of the honor and courage with which he lived 
his life. It is with these thoughts that I come to your Guildhall of 
Paladins, to formally request my own admittance.

A Question of Faith

A Paladin is a warrior, but he is also a priest. Any fool with a sword 
can fight. Any coward with an altar can pray.

A great Paladin can fight as ably as the fiercest warrior, yet remains as 
devout as the most chaste monk. It is a dichotomy in the eyes of some, 
but a necessity for a true warrior of the Light. One side strengthens the 
other, and challenges it. It is this struggle which heightens a Paladin 
in all respects.

I have learned to fight within the Guild. But I must hone my faith 
elsewhere. There are many Lords watching over Thera, serving many goals 
both pure and corrupt. There are many priests, and they follow many 
faiths. But no priest will ever tell you they question where they might 
fit.

It is known, as instinctively as one knows to feed when hungry and sleep 
when tired. A man knows where he belongs.

I will seek out Lord Akresius. Should I prove worthy, I will learn what 
he will teach. My faith in the Sanguine Chalice will bolster my strength, 
and I will take that strength to the battlefield. I will fight to save 
Thera's soul, as my father had done. Or I will perish in the attempt.
