Role
Avenger of the Celestial Moon
Added Thu Oct 15 08:47:22 2009 at level 51:
Though the trials of life Baldrien Thornheart has moved closer to his
goal of becoming the avenger he set out to be. With the guidance of the
lady of the cold mountain, Baldrien has found the strength that Feristle
and the original sylvan warders possessed. However, the journey is one
that can never be completed. Even though he sees himelf as possessing the
strength he set out to gain, there is always room to improve yourself and
move onwards. His research upon the past acions of individuals who held
the strength has barely begun, and he feels there is much to learn from
this.
His next subjects in his reseach will be the tribunals who lead the
charge and won the war against the sylvan warders. If you fully
understand the enemy, their motivations, strengths and weaknesses the
knowledge can be used to battle their influence upon Thera.
Sylvan Research, Andrlos the Wolf of Joheem
Added Thu Oct 1 14:00:25 2009 at level 44:
Andrlos was a massive man with the appearance of a well trained fighter.
Standing six feet above the ground, with the muscles of a battle hardened
warrior. He had a strangly pale skin for a man who spent so much time under
the burning sun of Thera. Scars criss-crossed the visible parts of his arms,
which is a sign of a man who have seen alot of fighting in his life. His
silvery hair was unkempt and wild, with the last strands of brown quickly
disappearing. He was bearded and this aswell was unkempt, giving him the
appearance of a wild man. A ranger. One unbound from the civilized ways. Dark
gray eyes was a noticable feature of this rugged man, and some would almost
say it gave him a noble look. His lined face shows the signs of age, as his
many years within the harsh wilds has taken a toll. Lastly he had a visible
tattoo of a wolf moving up his neck and shoulder, and it was said that the
rest of the wolf covered his whole back. The tattoed snout of the wolf just
reached up to his left ear, and it was said that it whispered to him.
This is the last record of his appearance, the man out of the city of
Ulun-Joheem beyond the mountains to the west. He and his kinsmen left their
city, as the snow of the high passes melted under a hot summer sun. They left
to found Askan-Joheem in the east to spread the cult of the wolf. Andrlos who
was fourteen years old at the time lost two uncles and cousins in the
mountain passes, but he himself and a hundred strong party survived. The
settlement of Askan-Joheem was only partly built when the snows reached the
lowlands, it was a mild winter to the relief of the settlers. They had
settled in a dark wood near a town the locals called Bar-Ovia, and the cult
of the wolf lived well on the spoils of raids upon the cult of Ovia. But as
sprint set in and the snowmelt started, the camp was decimated by wave after
wave of plague, untill there was no more skins to lay the dead upon.
The trials was only starting though and soon the attacks begun. The undead,
skeletons and zombies struck at night and soon even the dead of the clan of
the wolf begun rising and striking upon their former clanmates. The clan only
had a handfull of survivors left, and they begun planning to return to
Ulun-Joheem, but the passes had once again been filled with snow. They
returned to the village of Bar-Ovia to destroy the defiled bodies of their
kin, and sell their lives dearly.
Andrlos was tasked with bringing the totem of joheem away from the undeath
and hide it away. This is how he ended up as the only survivor of the clan of
the wolf east of the mountains. He traveled north into the forest of prosimy,
and hit the totem deep in those woods. He was unable to find his way back. In
the following years he dwelled in the woods near Bar-Ovia, quickly listening
and learning. He absorbed their language, customs and their cults. He would
eventually leave the eastern continent and emerge in the world beyond.
Understanding.

It is twilight and a thunderstorm rage in the clouds.
*A flash of lightning*
You see the deep woods of the Prosimy about you, the trunks of its trees
disappearing into the forest canopy. Under your feet is an almost invisible
trail with no apparent evidence of frequent travel.
You see a man with dreadlocks sticking out of his hood, standing above the
charred and sizzling corpse of his once living enemy. He has a long bleeding
cut across his shin and his broken arm hangs down his side with a shield
strapped to it. The rugged looking hooded man looks down upon the broken body
before him.
"You do not run from a druid within his elements on foot, especially not
during a thunderstorm. You learned something today, absorb this knowledge and
you will have begun your path towards strength."
This man has come to an understanding.
His perception of knowledge and strength and how these combine to form beauty
has crystalized. By learning new things and mastering the old, you improve
aspects that can not be taken away by the tests of time. You must learn these
lessons as yourself, and you must never change what you are.
*Thundering Boom followed by twilight darkness once again*

Baldrien sat listening to his parents retelling the story that his parents
was reading from the symbolic scripts. We was both facinated and abhorred. He
could not belive that his ancestors could be so strong in one aspect, yet so
weak in another. Baldrien found himself resonating with the actions of
Feristle and the rebels, as they would not accept the encroachment upon their
lands. His parents had always been peacefull people, with close ties to the
ancestors who paid such a terrible price. However, Baldrien had always
considered their approach to be unfruitfull and less than was needed. The
life of a peacefull scholar had never been something for him, and at that
point he made a decision.
He had always felt a lingering unease at how his parents had gone through
their life avoiding conflict, and he felt that he resonated with Feristle and
his group. The civilized are weak and wanton, not only do they wholly rely on
others for even the most basic survival, but they also squander and abuse the
gifts that nature offer. Baldrien wish to dicover within himself the strength
that Feristle showed in times long past. He went against his people and
braught the fight to their enemies, and faught courageously against an enemy
that far outnumbered their poorly trained and equiped group of druids.
Order of the Celestial Moon, Part 1.
Added Sun Sep 13 06:13:50 2009 at level 10:
Looking about himself in wonder, Baldrien was astonished by the beauty of his
surroundings. These old stone circles in the middle of the deepest part of
the Feanwyn Weald were the last remaining trace of a people and culture long
passed beyond rememberance, and they were apparently his direct ancestors.
His parents, who had used their whole life seaching for this very spot, were
thrilled as they examined old symbolic writing on a center stone in the
circle. It told the tale of what had transpired and ultimately what had ended
the people and its culture in times long past.
----------------
The druidic order of the celestial moon had once been the most revered and
looked up to culture. It was a culture dedicated to pacifism, peace, and the
beauty of nature. They had lived with nature and for nature, both protecting
it and drawing upon its resources to survive. Their pacifism would spell
their end however, as the pox of civilized man was moving to settle at the
edges of the woods they called their home. The first they noticed of this
encroachment was the timbering. As the buildings and walls started to rise
there was an ever increasing need for lumber. When the druids noticed this
they gathered and walked to the area the civilized man had begun to cut down
and implored them to stop this terrible act. The loggers laughed at their
request, and chased the peace loving druids away with little effort and some
half hearted brandishing of their logging axes.
Years passed and the Galadonian Settlement grew into the largest city in
Thera, at an equal cost on the Feanwyn Weald. Large sections had been clear
cut and a road had been built straight through one of the holy areas of the
druids, who still made no effort to stop it beyond imploring and begging.
There was one of them, a druid called Feristle, who burned to do something
about the ever expanding city and its encroachment upon his belowed forests.
Feristle and some followers begun a war upon the soldiers of the city, and
all who stepped through the woods with an intention of hurting it.
The war raged for months, at a terrible price for the rebel druids. With
their forces weakened, the civilized man delt a final blow to their efforts
with a strike at their heart. The armies of the Galadonian Settlement
attacked the remaining druids of the circle of the celestial moon, driving
them through a portal and into the afterlife. They decided to step beyond
willingly instead of resorting to violence to defend themselves. Feristle who
were severly weakened retreated deep into the woods to recover, and would not
emerge again for centuries. But when he did he would form the group who would
be known as the Sylvan Warders, and they would settle in the holy area of the
celestial moon.
