Description
About 6 feet high and quite thin, dressed in a varied assortment of armors
a middle-aged man stands before you. Deep black eyes with a glint in them
peers out from under the long black messy hair falling down in his face.
One almost fails to see the big burn-scar on the left chin because of
this. His skin quite dark, well tanned by the sun and several scars run
cross his face. A long staff is hanging on his back and his knuckles
are bloodied and covered with scars.
Role
Becoming frail

Berak has now seen quite a lot of battles. And yet he feels that he should have
done better. Armonk thought him everything he knew and yet Berak feels that
he is failing his memory, lacking in tactics. Knowing that a commander must
be in charge of the village Berak feels that the burden might be placed on his
shoulders. Though being as frail as he is he will need to seek out the great
lord Katellyn again for another purpose than becoming a legend, he will need
his aid and blessing to get his body vital again. For there is still much that
must be done, the village must not lose all it's elders.
A sad day.

It is a sad day for Berak today. First he gets the tidings of Awks death and
only hours later he hears about his great mentor Armonks passing as well.
Berak knows that this will hurt the village when it is in its weakest moment.
Already has the great commander left the village and the drillmaster has become
very old. There are not many strong warriors left to claim the title as the
commander, Berak now can see the opportunity to become the commander of the
village, even though a position as the drillmaster would suit him better.
Quite some time ago Berak met with the great lord Kastellyn, they spoke briefly
About Beraks wishes to become one of the legends of Thera, and Berak was given
his first task, a rather simple one but yet interesting. Berak immediately went
to the Lyceum and read through all of his notes, because he remembered
that he read about a great warrior once. After some searching he found out that
it was an old Knight of Thera he thought about, Challen.
Berak also discovered a way to enter the second circle of hell together with
his friends Armonk, Jichii and Awk. Down there they met the demon lord Baphomet
who kept taunting the four even though they beat him to death. Berak is now
certain that this place is filled with the taint of magic and he is determined
to explore this place fully and perhaps cleanse it from it's magic, or at least
strengthen the veil.
First goal complete, time to get moving

Berak has finally attained his first goal, he has become one of the heroes
in the guild of warriors. Now he must seek an audience with Lord Kastellyn
to see if the great lord would be willing to make him a legend.
Berak has already noticed that he has a body that heals faster than most. He
also knows that he is hard to his as his skills in defence are of the finest
quality, even better than the great drillmaster. Perhaps he can become even
better in the art of defending himself and others, becoming almost immortal
when it comes to the art of combat. Berak also wishes there were more he could
do to aid and assist his kin in the village. Perhaps the great lord will be
impressed with Beraks skills and teach him some secrets witch can aid the
defence of the village.
Recently Berak also made his first visit to the torments of hell alongside with
the drillmaster and the skjald, this was very interesting since he found the
place flowing with magic, at least Berak believes that the beings there are
kept alive with powers of magic, perhaps even souls trapped by the father
of lies, Lord Twist. Beraks combat skills was a great asset to the party here
and Berak will most likely return here to free the entrapped souls from Twist.
Earlier that day Berak saw example of the liars vile tactics as he struck the
skjald with a pillar of lightning after a strike towards the empire.
Recently Berak has travelled with some outlanders, this made him think quite
a bit about the relation the village has with other cabals. Currently the
village seem to have no friends, everyone is an enemy except the outlanders
whom we at best have a neutral relationship with. Berak thinks that this is
quite odd since they in some extent seem to share the hatred towards magi.
Even though they do let members of the shapeshifter guild into their ranks.
Perhaps this should be discuss with the commander to see if not some sort
of agreement could be made, perhaps one could convince the leaders of
the outlanders that they should not accept the tainted shifters, then they
would prove a strong ally against the tainted ones.

Berak is nearing his first goal, to become a hero of his guild. Even though
he feels that is he is getting quite old and that the battles has taken its
toll upon him he still wishes to go on since the battles is what is still
pushing him forward. He never feels quite well unless he is in a fight
and he is certain that the reason for that is that he, in his beliefs started
to use his body so late in his life. He still feels pity for his parents but
he has no realized that they'll never be able to turn from their chosen
path.
But of one thing he is certain, there are those whom have been weakened
that can change. He spoke with a young warrior named Avara today. She
was seeking entrance to the fortress as a scribe, witch Berak felt was a
great pity for someone well adverse in using her body as a weapon. Though
she was not wearing any tainted items and she tried to stay away from
taint when she could, and yet she carried magical potions and berries.
After a long chat with her Berak felt that perhaps it was not impossible
to teach young warriors to stick to the stronger path and shun the magi
if just given more time.
In the future Berak shall try this more, and he will also try to be more active
when it comes to new recruits, as he feels that he has been neglecting that.
But the primary goal for now is still to become a hero of warriors.

Today I spoke to Brinkmun, the drillmaster in the village. A fearful giant
he is. For the first time I had hard to find the words, and to keep it as
short as he wished for. But finally I must have gotten it right, and it did
help a lot that Armonk also vouched for me. This has rendered me totally
four recommendations from my new brothers.
So now my hut is finally built, quite the difference from the old tower.
I will not miss it one bit! Ahrm, speaking in terms of luxury that is. Now I
can begin to grow fast again, so that I can obtain the title of a hero within
the guild. Then I shall seek out the Lord of Legends, I just need to find his
shrine, but I think I have a clue to where I'll find it.

I have been so busy of late that there has been no time to write here I have
been busy training my body and educating my mind. I have also been hunting
those dreaded mages. I am glad that I have not faced any old childhood friends
yet, but that does not matter. Things have been going well, my knowledge of
mages has been serving me well, knowing where to find them and their
weaknesses.
I have also killed my first mage, but that was a long time ago now. I directly
went to Tahren the smith and swore the oath. After that I have gained several
mage skulls, and I am particularly fond of a warrior nexite skull, Mirlin. Well
that is not important either. Now I have gained my first recommendation, and
I think I will gained my second very soon. Hopefully I'll earn my hut today.
I have been to the Lyceum and read the village history, very interesting indeed
One can only hope to become such a legend as many of those mentioned there
are, but some day perhaps, when I have become a hero, perhaps I can become
a legend. And my full name will be known to all of Thera.
Berak Fal'Cheran defender of the village, I have been toying with the thought
even if it is yet quite far away.
We'll see what happeneds further on.

Finally I have time to think. After weeks of doing nothing but travelling,
learning and training I have some time to sit down. I shall keep this diary
to make sure the world after me will know the reasons for my actions. I guess
that I must explain myself directly here on what I am doing. A few months ago
I left my birthplace in the high tower of sorcery, to my parents great despair.
But I could no longer have it. My whole life before this they have tried to
Make me into some kind of mage. I have spent countless of hours in the library
without becoming any wiser. Though some things I have learned there...
And some things have I seen. It did not take a very long time for me to decide
that I never would wish to become like my parents. Conjuring elementals or
transmuting my or others bodies in different ways. Already from the start I
found it unnatural what they did. I quickly learned from where the magi came.
Or at least that it was a power of gods, a power one not should take lightly.
I was outraged when I first learned this, my parents where toying with powers
of the gods, without their consent! I tried to research this more but I found
very little on the subject. Only the mentioning of some village, filled with
according to the library foolish and dumb warriors that tried to pursue those
who wields magic.
I decided that the library was not a place to learn more, and I could no longer
stand to live with my parents. So I left. I went to Udgaard, a random choice
of city to use as my hometown. I seem to be quite lucky, this far everything
has been working out smoothly. I found a coin purse on the road just outside
Udgaard, and as I enter I ran straight into some old warrior. This old warrior
named Kaleth was a recruiter for the warriors guild. He did not ask many
questions about my past but rather of my morality and honor. My answers must
have pleased him for he showed me to the guild master of warriors. That is what
I have been doing, training and learning within the guild of warriors, and while
doing that I have learned more. I have learned that those villagers or Battle
Ragers as some call them truly do seek to stop the use of magi in the world.
A huge task, but they are very strong and in their village a knowledge has been
Passed down through the generations on how to protect oneself from the taint.
I am certain that I wish to become one of them, perhaps if I become strong
enough I can return to my parents and convince them that the power they seek
can be acquired through hard training of the body and mind rather than with
the use of magi.
We shall see where this path leads me...
