Description
Before you stand a young man. His smooth skin is broken up by scars on every
bit of skin you get a glimpse of. Though being a man his scared suntanned
skin in the face is still completely hairless. His deep blue eyes are filled
with sadness, and his long blond hair is tied up in a messy tail on his neck.
He is rather short but large muscles are flexing beneath the skin. His armors
seem to be of the finest quality even though they are covered with dirt and
dust.

Been thinking if it would be possible to become
vulnerable against mental since the char is insane
and if possible once I get booted from fortress
get some sort of variant of the villagers bloodlust?
Like a random variant of it that goes off every now and then?
No idea what you think of the idea, but I guess
I'll notice.
By the way, I'd be happy with the vuln only. heh

I will of course not take advantage of these rages. Sometimes
they'll appear when it doesn't benefit me in anyway, and sometimes it will.
I will be trying to make them as random as possible.
Beginning of the end...

Today Bjorn experienced the first sign of the uncontrolled rages return. He
was happy that he could control it though but it worried him. This time he
wont be telling his friends or commanders. The captain seemed to be quite
worried as Bjorn told him of the first outburst that led to the attack of
Bjorns friend. No, he must keep this quiet, find a way to control it before
it cannot be controlled.
Another thing happened today, on his 30th birthday Bjorn received a letter
from the commanding Paladin in the north that his biological father had been
slain in battle. Bjorn was devastated by this message, and even worse is that
he being alive was the only link he had left to the sane part of his life.
From now on Bjorn will start to act more strange, there will soon be some
sort of outburst that will let his rages take control of his life and hell
roam free. The rages will escalate, from just happening every now and then at
first and after a while move towards being so frequent that he rather will
have moments of sanity where grief of his actions will bring him to the edge
of suicide. Most of those sane moments he will spend praying, or doing good
deeds if he dares to, since he will be afraid of getting close to the
innocents or those of the light in fear of charging at them.
The goal is not to make Bjorn evil, that is up to you to decide if he should
be or not. Personally I dont think he has to be evil, he could stay good
since his heart is. Or neutral, he is driven by an instinct, rage, and yet
his heart seeks to bring mercy and goodness.
This is just a thing I have been thinking quite a lot about, the way society
look at those insane.
Raging

Bjorn went out from Galadon and set track towards Udgaard. Far away at the
end of the road he spots Verelea, a dark knight. Picking up the pace he
closes in on the dark knight, charges at him. During the fierce battle Bjorn
notices that Decl another Dark knight is there, sleeping and suddenly he just
dies. But Bjorn is to busy fighting to think more of that, not until the dark
knight manages to escape and run away he ponders it.
But not for long, suddenly a dark voice starts whispering to him. Mocking him
for not being able to kill either of the knights, when both were near death.
Bjorn can hear the taint in the words and challenges the voice to step
forward and face him. The voice refuses and Bjorn suddenly loses control and
enters a rage, just as he enters the rage the dark voice tells him that the
only way to quench the rage.
When in the state he is Bjorn cant think clearly, and suddenly he think it
makes sense, so he starts looking around for the assassin and the first he is
to see is he good friend Vessdee, a lightwalker. Without a second thought he
charges directly at him, filled with the rage within. In the middle of the
fight his mind suddenly clears, he quickly flees the scene and brakes down
crying.
He sends up a prayer to the heavens, hoping that the gods of light will be
able to forgive his actions, when he suddenly remembers his fathers letter.
He is mad, Bjorn is certain that he must be. He has inherited his true
fathers madness, but he barely gets to utter the words when suddenly a warm
voice fills the air. They have a lengthy discussion about what happened and
what Bjorns troubles are.
It must have been a god Bjorn is certain of, for who else could make his mind
so clear, make him able to focus so hard on the task than the divine lords of
Thera? The discussion ends by the god telling Bjorn that he should seek out
the dark knight Verelea and quench his rage with her blood. And so Bjorn
does, after a long fight raging across western Thera Verelea lies dead before
Bjorns feet, as the corpse hits the ground Bjorns rage ebbs out. It has
worked, perhaps he is cured. But Bjorn will still be weary when entering the
rage...
A letter from home.

Bjorn finally received the long awaited letter from home, but strangely it
wasnt his mothers fluid handwriting that met him, but his fathers direct
words that struck him.

Dear (Son-The word son is struck over but still visible for a keen eye)
Bjorn.
I do not know where to begin. Your mother has been killed, murdered by... Your
real father it seem. I, am not your father. Your mother was having an affair
with your real father, another warrior of the light up here in the north. And
it would seem that he has gone mad. He was found near your mothers dead
body, covered in blood crying. The paladins that found him sensed no evil
about him but still he confessed to the murder, telling them that he had no
reason for it. It seem that this was not the first time, he confessed to
several other murderings that had happened up north which he had no reason
for committing either. I I dont understand this at all, all I know is that
you are not my son, and that my wife and your mother are dead.
I have resigned from my work up here, and will leave for the mountains. We
shall not speak ever again, nor shall I speak to any other human being for
the rest of my life. But I had to inform you of this, you father was a
madman.
*signed* Gliarun Hojing, failed priest of the light.

Bjorn is not sure how to react on this, a part of him tells him to run up
north and attend to his mothers funeral, another tells him that Gliarun is
still his father and that he should seek him out. But most of all, Bjorn is
afraid. Afraid of what he might have inherit from his true father.
Bjorn will now be even more watchful on his own actions.

Fears

Bjorn is afraid, he is afraid of what he might do while in the rage of
combat. He now truly fears entering the berserking rage his guild is teaching
him and will never do so, not even when it might save his life. He has told
the Maran captain Niheriva about this as he joined the fortress, but the
captain wasnt to surprised about this and said that it will easily be
trained away with time. Bjorn sure hope so but he will guard himself until he
feels safe again, and can trust his mind
Strange feelings.

Recently Bjorn has started to feel a bit strange. It is not like he has been
having any blackouts, but rather as if his mind becomes filled with rage and
during those periods of time he really cant control what he is doing.
Luckily none that he hasnt intended to hurt has been hurt, but these
occasions has of yet been very rare. And only occurred while he has already
been in combat. He has started to become a bit scared of going into the
berserking rage his guild has thought him though.
Bjorn has also recently written a letter home to his mother and father,
telling them how things are going, the adventures hes been on, the evils he
has faced. The letter was filled with little hints that he is trying his best
to walk in his fathers footsteps. He is a bit worried though since he has
not received any letters from his family for quite some time now.
And as he has become more skilled in combat he has decided to do something
about his fathers remark about Bjorn not being pious enough, and he really do
feel that he could be a good follower of his fathers and hopefully his own
god, Lord Corrlaan. He is now managed to find his secluded shrine and will do
his best to follow what he believes is good.

Bjorn has been out in the world for almost a year now. He has seen much he
believes, and he has tried to spread the word of light around himself. But it
is hard, as most will not listen to him. And many evils in the world cannot
be spoken to, the one thing he has learned they listen to is the threat of
death, the blade of a dagger or a sword swishing through the air. Man has it
been he has slain in the name of the light, hoping that theyll get
redemption in death and perhaps be reborn as a pure soul. But it still pains
him every time he has to kill something.
Bjorns goals

As this story might seem simple, it will evolve later as Bjorn gain levels.
Bjorns goals are to become a maran, live up to his fathers family name Hojing
and be as close to a Paladin he ever can since his father did not let him
seek out that guild.
Childhood of Bjorn

Bjorn was a happy child as he grew, both his mother and his father gave him
as much love as any parent can give to their child. Bjorn had a very easy
time making new friends and as he got into his teens he was the girls
favourite. The only thing that was a bit odd with Bjorn was his never ending
energy, he could go into a frenzy of activities in the morning and just
keeping at it the whole day and then still not be tired when night fell. This
also aided him in the training with his father and made sure that he had no
problems in joining the warriors guild at his sixteenth birthday.
As the day had come when he would move out from his parents house his father
said goodbye, and told him to write to him sometime. Since he and Eyria would
be moving back up to the village again as his services was once again needed.
Bjorn stood strong with tears in his eyes but did not weep, and saluted his
father before he left.
Birth of Bjorn

Seventeen years ago a woman had an affair with her neighbour, the womans
name was Eyria and she was the wife of Gliarun, a renowned Paladin of the
light. They were at the time located in the village north of Udgaard as
Gliarun was putting his powers into use against the occupation of Udgaard.
Gliarun never had any idea about what went on while he was out battling the
evils every day. And his wife never said a word.
Nine months later Bjorn was born, and Gliarun had been ordered to return to
Galadon. And so he did. The family returned to Galadon and Eyria never
revealed her treachery, and she did not know who the father to Bjorn was, but
Gliarun never suspected anything. It seemed that since Gliarun had become a
father his master had felt pity for him and sent him to Galadon for a more
calm line of duty so that he could spend time with his son and raise him to a
good servant of the light. And so Gliarun did, but he early on noticed that
his son did not burn with the same frenzy as he did himself and decided that
when the appropriate age came he would be sent to the warriors guild for
further training, he would not become a Paladin as his father.
So Gliarun prepared his son as well as he could for what would come, making
sure that he would be a great warrior of the light, even though he would
never be granted the blessing of Lord Corrlaan he would be thought the way of
mercy.
