Description

A devilsh image is before you before you make out the size and shape, as well as structure, is actually a fire giant kin. His flesh is so dark, it looks to almost absorb light, obsidian dark with hardly a glint to it. His belongings match the dulling blackness most likely intentionally, to be able to move within places of of similar darkness easily. Massive hands, with translucent nails give a strange reflection to what light there is about. Dark, purple-hued eyes, glint and shine within his dark fleshen head giving him that devlish feel you saw previously. His hair, similar to the color of ash, cooled in the night air, flows freely from the top of his head. It is bundled up and wrapped in twine holding a bale of it upon it tightly. A quiet huff of noise, rythmic in its pattern, breathes in and out, as if a cave itself makes huffs of life.

Role

Observations in the Underdark | Crafting the Process

Added Mon Feb 12 17:26:45 2024 at level 45:
Fire giantian youth is not for the feint of heart. Nor is
the Underdark wilds. Both of which are factors that Boarkuun
endured. As a young fire giant within the Underdark, he is
part of a caste of fire giants of lowest stature compared
to the Kiadana Rahians mountain fire giants. Therefore his life
was in general hard, without mercy, and solely built around
the Strength to survive.

This is the first lesson Boarkuun learned in the Underdark and
in the social pecking order, Strength. Strength presses against
the forces which seek to press back. The competition of Strength
is what drives everything in the world.

As Boarkuun dodges cavefishers, cloakers, driders, drow, and
the dozens of other vicious creatures of the Underdark, he
begins to learn the ways of the caverns to survive. He learns
to survive there and stay out of sight, his obvious Strength
not ready to compete with the beings there as of now.

Hiding in the cark corners and cracks of the Underdark, he
sees before him the Process play out. Beings of the Underdark
hunt each other, using Strength in many ways. They press
against each other, in constant battle, each trying not to
be pushed over. As if there is a resistance to stay in the
status quo until a force is exerted.

Blood, battle, brutality, hunting, ambushing, it continues
in a cycle of Strength. Some die and are eaten, forced to
the next part of the Cycle. Others consume after expending
Strength, thus also moving through the Cycle to reproduction
or mating, or birth. New Cycles spin in the birth, and
through this all, Strength pushes the Cycle, and each spot
new evolution happens, and that is the Process.

In a young, simple minded fire giant, this observation makes
sense. It has been simplified to the point where it can
be easily consumed and understood by the dim witted, of which
Boarkuun is, although he believes he is brillant.

What is the....?

Added Mon Feb 12 17:28:06 2024 at level 45:
*Strength* The application of power against another being
or anything within any part of the Planes. It is the action
of exerting your Will against another.

*Hexagons* Boarkuun believes that the Cycle is not a circle
like most Thar Erisans believe, instead it is a Hexagon.
Why? Because first Hexagon is one of the most powerful shapes
in Nature. It is perfect in its structure, orderly, and
organized. Ask any wasp, bee, or even nightwalker, as nightwalker
nest and function in the Shadow Plane with Hexagon shapes.
Thus the Cycle is not a Circle, but a Hexagon, and the sides
and the Cycle tends to stay at rest UNLESS Strength is applied
enough to push the Hexagon to the next part of the Cycle. i.e.
a living being doesn't want to die, thus it stays on the Cycle
of living until Strength is applied enough to overwhelm
its own Strength, then its Hexagon is turned one side. That
is really how Nature works, not how Thar Erisans see it.

*Process* Processing is the act of using Strength against
a Hexagon and turning it. It is the primary act of all of
Nature. When someone is "Processed" their Strength was not
enough to rival the Strength applied, and their state changes
and thus at the end of it is a kind of Evolution. Be it
forever destruction, reincarnation, learning, or growth.
Know that the Process affects both Hexagons (Turner and
Turnee) to different spots in their life. To reproduce
requires Strength. To grow, requires Strength.

*Nature* Thar Erisans hold a very core misconception of
Nature and what it encompasses. It is foolishness to believe
tiny little fleshy beings of only one Plane (Theran)
can, should, have the Strength, and are chosen, to be protectors
of all of Nature. It is further tomfullery to believe that
Nature itself NEEDS protection. She encompasses all, every
Plane from the Shadow Plane to Theran Plane, to Elemental
Planes, to the Astral Plane. She is all of it. Furthermore
she is not weak in any way. She is the most powerful (and
to be added, RUTHLESS being in existence). She does not
care about anything but Strength and she rewards Strength
with Evolution. A furthering of your own self through
the Process is rewarded by Nature. The idea that Nature
cannot protect herself is laughable to Boarkuun.

The Hexagonal Belief and Scions

Added Mon Feb 12 17:28:39 2024 at level 45:
The belief is named the "Hexagonal Belief" because it is
fundamentally the Cycle of Nature in the correct way.
So many believe that anything that pushes against them
with Strength is "defilement" or "corrupt". This is a
natural reaction to the pressure caused by the Process.
Almost all beings default to this narrative in an attempt
to process the "Process". "The defilement of Thar Eris
by the Shadow Plane! Its horrible and unnatural." Yet, how
can something born of Nature (as she is all Planes, not just
one) but unnatural? It is a knee-jerk reaction and fear
based understanding. Ultimately it is what Prey does to
reconcile its weakness. She (Nature) doesn't care. She
wants Strength to win, across all Planes and inbetween.

In addition Thar Erisans believe that crossing the boundaries
of planes is unnatural, yet the irony of that is Thar Erisans
cross boundaries continually using portals and other shifting
transportations. They deem themselves natural, yet spend
endless hours in Organia or other planes. A piece of irony
not lost on Boarkuun and further proof Nature is the dominate
being and Thar Erisans misunderstand Her.

Thus the Scions are simply a Strength pressing upon the Theran
plane as is normal by the Process. The Hexagon of the Theran
plane will be pushed, and through that, evolution. Nature will
reward it with evolution, and Nature will destroy weakness
as is the way.

Order versus Chaos?

Added Mon Feb 12 17:29:22 2024 at level 45:
Boarkuun is very Orderly at heart and that is because the Process
is born and lives within an order that is identifible and true.
Many believe the cycles within Nature are without rules and chaotic
in nature, but that is not true. Everything has a very specific order
to it. You are born, you live, you reproduce, you die, you are
consumed, and the cycle continues. Because the order is difficult
for the weak minds of humanoids to comprehend does not mean it is
not there and persistent. Boarkuun sees this and everything that
happens are born of Order.

This concept ripples throughout Boarkuun's life. He believes that
while many think The Spire (Order), Thar Erisans (Chaos), and Scions
(Strength and Nature). They are actually one in a strange way.

Boarkuun holds no ill will other than Nature demands the pressing
of Strength to Evolve. Boarkuun seeks to continue to evolve and
play its role in pressing upon the Theran plane the Strength needed
to bring the Shadow plane closer. There is no Chaos, there is only
Order and the Strength to move that Order.

The bees and hornets know this. Why does not all other beings?
