it too having seemingly been seared off at some point. Given the legendary
resistance of the fire giants to heat and flames, the giant before you must
have done something extraordinary, stupid, or both to be so thoroughly burned
Most likely, repeatedly.
He wears the loose, black robes of a monk or priest over a mismatched set of
heavy, dented battle armor. Numerous bladed weapons are stowed in sheaths
buckled to his belt or slung about his body.

Brulgbabauth was raised by his father away from others of his kind. He didn't
realize it, but his father was a drunk and a deadbeat outcast from even from
decadent fire giant society. Other fire giants didn't want him around because
he was weak, lazy, and useless.
As a child, Brulgbabauth asked his father why they were so poor and starving
all the time. His father didn't want to tell Brulg what a failure he was, so
he made up a story instead to make himself seem important.
He said that from the dawn of the world, their family had been entrusted by the
Gods with the keeping of fire. For countless generations, only they had
possessed the gift of fire. People who needed fire for something had to pay
homage and tribute to the family in order to partake of this wonderous gift.
However, the greedy merchants of the cities coveted the gift of fire and grew
tired of paying the tribute. They schemed to possess it and one day they stole
the fire away from the family. Because fire propogates, once it had been taken
it was impossible to reclaim and keep from them. The family fell into poverty
and their once great role in the world had been forgotten.
Being a fire giant and not very bright, Brulg grew up believing that fire was
rightfully his. He wasn't sure if he could ever find a way to take it back,
but he planned to get his revenge on those who stole fire and liberate it from
their clutches. He heard that people in the cities kept fire in their houses
to heat them and it enraged him. How dare these simple people keep fire in
their houses?! Fire didn't want to be in houses and forced to cook food and
do other menial labor for people. Fire wanted to be set free and permitted to
burn things. Fire was the gift of the Gods and the great reshaper.
When his father inevitably drank himself to death, Brulgbabauth set off into
the cities of the realm and began his crusade. He saw people with torches and
accosted them trying to get their fire back. He confronted the mayors and
demanded they issue a decree returning all fire to his custody. He even
committed many acts of arson to try to show the people that they should fear
and respect the power of fire. For his efforts, he only got beat down,
laughed at, and sometimes arrested. Many nights languishing in a holding cell
alone he wept bitter tears, feeling vulnerable and depressed because people
had stolen fire from his father and he wasn't succeeding in getting it back.
One day, he heard people talk about a dark Goddess with an interest in fire.
Brulgbabauth believed she might have been the divine hand who had given his
family fire in the first place. Perhaps he could get her help in smiting
the thieves of fire and building a new world free of their meddling.
