Description
The ebon skin that is revealed from beneath his hood instantly gives away
the bloodlines of this man. He is unusually tall for a drow though this is
compensated by his posture, which is hunched over at almost a half bow.
He looks thin although it is hard to unravel exactly how light given the
loose robes he is encased in. The hooded robes themselves are jet black
almost as if light itself cannot escape the fabric's gravity. Embroidered
across the front of his hood, down each side of his back and along each
sleeve are symbols, foreign and undecipherable, intermingled with celestial
shapes; such as stars, the sun and moon. His hands hang loosely from
beneath his sleeves and fashion flesh that is twisted and scarred, reminding
you of a burn victim's though it seems somehow different. Within one
he grips tightly a thin black book with a blue ribbon marker hanging limp.
Silvery hair flows across his face at the mercy of the wind as he stares
out towards you with eyes emblazened with a purple hue.
Role
Calcabrizzo de Bezaudun

Once a simple hunter, Calcabrizzo received divine intervention that
saved him from certain death. This changed the course of his life
and brought him into a faithful existence. Born again as a worshipper
of Raltevio.
In his new found faith he is influenced by the sun and moon, often seeking
them out to obtain gifts of divination, discovery and enlightenment. He
is a wanderer, a law abider, a citizen who chooses reason over bloodshed,
and the book over the sword. What he cannot achieve by himself he
will seek the stars for guidance. There is much he does not know, which
means he has a long life of learning ahead.
He has no ambitions for prestige or position but he does seek a place within
the corridors of the Palace. Drawn to it by the frightful lich that leads
the lands, a coveted follower of Raltevio. A soul more worthy than the
Emperor, no mortal can find. And so with that brief introduction, the next
is the revelation that started Calcabrizzo de Bezaudun down this fateful
and faithful path.
Raltevio's Revelation

Below is a retelling of the dawn of Calcabrizzo's faith. The revelation
bestowed upon him by the God Raltevio. Prior to this day, Calcabrizzo
had no faith to speak of. He was but a simple hunter that provided
a modest meal for his family.

Early in the course of this life, I found myself through a gloomy
wood. Who could relate how wild this wood was? It's so hard to say
how stark and rough. The very thought of it renews my fear so bitterly
that death seems almost near. How I came to be there I cannot say
for sure. I was so deeply bound by sleep but when I saw I had come
to stand below a hill, I looked up to see its summit touched by the moon's
beam that guides mans footsteps on every path. Then was the fear
a little quietened. My soul which urged me onwards to further flight
then turned back to contemplate the way from which I came.
I rested a while my weary body, then up the desolate rise pursued
my way. But scarcely had I begun my climbing when out sprang a
band of thieves, all covered in fine fur and dappled leather coats.
Always they crept before me. My ways were blocked so thoroughly
that time after time I turned about to make my safe retreat but it
was thwarthed by sharpened blade and grinning teeth.
But the hour was early and the rising sun displacing the stars which
glitter with that love divine offered me encouragement and hope.
Yet not so much that the reality I found myself in did not still terrify.
The leader in his meagreness seemed to bear the sum of every want.
No peace was offered by that bloodthirsty beast. It came at me
and pressed me back and down to where the sun was mute.
Now as I fled down to the lower grounds one came into my sight
who seemed to have become voiceless from silence maintained too
long. I yelled out "Look at these thieves from which I turned away!
Help me, protect me from them who sets my pulses trembling through
my veins!"
"For your own good, I think, you ought to follow me. I will guide you
through an eternal place where you will hear harsh noises of despair
and souls screaming for their second death" he said as if every word
pained him.
"I am a follower of the God Raltevio, Lord of the Fools Troupe. For it
is He who sent me to this very spot, at this very time. Through his
revelation salvation will be yours."
He moved on, and I went after him. As day was departing, and foretold
by the salty air, we had reached the outskirts and relative safety of
Hamzah Mu'tazz.

Citizenship

Philosophy, to those that understand, points out how nature as it
takes its course, follows the divine intelligence. Art will follow nature
just like a pupil at his master's heels. Art is the Gods' grandchild, so
to speak. From these two, man must grow. Usury is a sin against
Gods' art. Rejecting both nature and its student art, he invests his
hope in something else.
Calcabrizzo has been thrust into Imperial ways, his promise proving
too tempting for the prelate. Neither seeking a position of power
nor coveting such, Calcabrizzo accepted it as any man would though
deep down he considers himself no more highly than any man who
struggles with the arts. In keeping with his philosophy, usury is a
trait etched into the souls of the weak. He will not tolerate such
unscrupulous acts and will actively condemn those he catches with
the taint. Calcabrizzo is no saint himself, his ebon skin betrays his
heritage, however ethics and morals are the fabric that bind the
soul to its vessel. A soul bound only weakly will be easily torn
asunder and cast into the depths for just endless torture.
Calcabrizzo continues to seek the glow of his Lord Raltevio for
strength and guidance as he presses on in his mortal frame.
Dream of the Avaricious Miser

Looking out over an alpine steep slope I was able to a a barren
wasteland far below. It was as if I had somehow reached the pivot
point of the world where all its ills are stored. Death seemed almost
near. What I saw I could not interpret. Souls revolving in opposition.
Approaching from either side and groaning as their chests strained
to roll great weights along. They met and crashed together then
turned around and went the other way screaming. They returned
both ways around the dreadful circle until they clashed again to
trudge the round for yet another joust.
A voice spoke out thet set the sting of fear in my heart. "The souls
you see before you are clergy, cardinals, popes all who have avarice
as their main besetting sin. For all the gold that is or every was
beneath the moon could never buy them rest, these weary souls, not
a single moment."
Looking around me there a figure began to materialize infront of me.
An undulating shroud of ethereal black silk ebbed and flowed around
a foreboding silhouette.
"My new acquisition is spoiled with filth?" it continued. "I expect a tithe
from the divine, lowly flesh dog"
I swooned like a dying man from pity and fell as a body falls void of life.
His undead gaze twisted into a squint which watched me for a while
before he waved in a dismissive manner. I awoke in a cold sweat.
