Description
A short figure crouches here, his stark white fur clashing against
all the colors surrounding him. Like the light of the sun itself,
his bright hair shines with a radiance of its own. The only thing
that detracts from the semblance of devout purity of this felar is
the horror of pain that can be seen plainly in his golden eyes and
the bits of dried blood under the long, sharp claws at the end of
his paws. Small ears lift up in response to sounds around him and
his short whiskers seem to dance about as his dark nose twitches
slightly. Unlike his shining bright fur, the light leather shirt
and breeches that he wears are covered in dirt and grime as if the
figure wearing them spends most of their time in the wilds of the
world. As you look closer at him, you notice that he is also
wearing...
Role
Survival of the Fittest
Added Thu Jul 13 18:10:16 2023 at level 8:
From the youngest age, the felar who is now called Cerrnal was trained
entirely for death and destruction of the enemies of those who held
his leash. Born into slavery, his entire life was always meant to be
used and eventually discarded when he was no longer of use to his
master. His early life was relegated to survival of the fittest with
the only way to survive being killing those who tried to kill him and
being constantly on edge to make sure that they were not destroyed in
surprise themselves.
Whether by skill, luck, or ferocity, the young felar survived into
the early stages of adulthood. A collar was placed around his neck
and he would be taken out as if he was a lion or tiger used to show
intimidation. This master who paraded about with the felar on the
leash was a rich merchant on the surface of the stone. Under the
table, he was a smuggler, a murderer, and a thief who only cared for
himself and his wealth. These facts made it easy for the master to
so easily use and discard everyone he wanted and enslave those like
the young felar so easily.
Pain and Agony Burns the Darkness Away
Added Thu Jul 13 18:11:02 2023 at level 8:
A day came where the felar was collared and taken to a meeting along
the leash attached to the arm of the master. Walking on all fours
beside him with claws digging into the earth and stone, the felar
watched with bright golden eyes in every direction, making sure that
none would attack from an unseen location. The master took his host
to a village outside of the city of Galadon, the city of riches and
slavery. As they arrived, they began looking for those who seemingly
owed borrowed money to the master. When he was refused, whether for
the reason of lack of coin to pay or outright denial, the master
unleashed his beast instead, the click of the leash a signal to the
felar to attack.
The felar leapt into action, tearing with claws of both front and
rear paws. As the felar leaped and ran between his enemies, he also
tore into them with savage teeth like a carnal beast. As the young
feral slave began to enter homes, he came upon a group of children
huddled behind a young woman and paused, for the first time having
memories of his past and what transpired in his own history. With
a howl, he knew that what he had done was wrong, even if it was
because of a conditioning of the past.
At this point, the young felar was angry. What had been the only
thing he ever knew had been torn away from him in horror and he
instead determined quickly that he would not be a part of it any
longer. In extreme anger over the killing and the slavery he had
been made a part of, he ran out of the building with the children
and instead tore into his master and his master's host, a fierce
and feral destruction that not even they had ever seen from him
before. Before he realized it, the young felar was covered in
the blood of his master's host and alone for the first time in
his life.
Another Type of Slavery
Added Thu Jul 13 18:11:19 2023 at level 8:
Not knowing what to do next, the feral and carnal felar went into
the world trying to find his place. He knew he could fight and
defend himself, and as he came upon those he felt was a threat to
him, he would strike quickly if he could not avoid them. When he
finally calmed down, the ones that did not truly try to kill him
but only defend themselves from his attacks told him that he moved
like one of the assassin's guild. Thinking perhaps this was the
place for him, he went to a guild in Galadon and enrolled so that
he could learn more of the ways of combat and defense of himself
and those of others.
What he learned in the assasin's guild was that being a part of
the guild in Galadon was just another type of slavery. They made
those who learned in the guild donate coin for their training and
because of the time in his master's house, the felar had a great
distrust for those who used coin. Learning enough of the basics,
the felar left the guild to again venture out into the world to
find the place where he would truly be free from those who would
control him and his actions.
Pride and the Wild World
Added Thu Jul 13 18:11:37 2023 at level 8:
Taking pride in himself, he began fighting for those who were
innocent of death and greed, but also those who felt no ties to
slavery or the cities of Thera. His past made him realize that
only the strongest of the world were to truly survive in it, but
also that sometimes others needed to be taught and nurtured to
be able to become strong and powerful. You could not do this,
though, in a vacuum of opportunities to grow strong. Because of
this, he cast of all ideas of a dedication to order or law.
Even with his training in the guild of assassins, the felar who
now named himself Cerrnal felt most comfortable in the wilds of
the forests and plains. It felt uncomfortable to him to try to
hide in the shadows of civilization, instead believing himself
better suited to blending into the surroundings as his stark
white fur did not do so well in a world without light. Between
his love of the wilds and his self-removal of his ties to the
cities of Thera and their shadowy slavery, he began to feel he
was meant to be a criminal, leading others into the life of
true freedom.
He knew that his road would be long and hard, but he decided
that he would use his skills and his strength to fight for the
wild world that was rumored to be called Thar-Eris. He would
seek out the felar god Ergush, show his pride for what he has
done to atone for his past, and learn all he can to be the
shining beacon for freedom and the Light that he believed the
wild world required.
The First Law
Added Wed Jul 26 10:48:00 2023 at level 30:
Cerrnal had went to the grove of the Ancient Ergush, that one
also known as the Haruspex, once before destroying the magi
necromancer Imperial named Feneranio in defense of the Tree.
Feeling that the time was right, and having been given the
chance to work for Thar-Eris as a Warden like he always wanted,
Cerrnal returned to the grove of the Haruspex with blood on
his claws. This time, though, and for the first time, he felt
and justified in the blood that was spilled.
When he arrived, he prayed to the heavens to have the augur of
the Haruspex speak to him. A short conversation was what the
young felar gained with the augur asking Cerrnal to show that
he was strongest and could survive through that strength again
as he had done already this day. Being ready to do so again,
Cerrnal agreed that he would and left the grove, ready to come
and return when he had completed this task.
SunBright
Added Wed Aug 30 15:54:06 2023 at level 51:
Over the years of his work in the Tree of Thar-Eris, Cerrnal was asked
to guide as Sunwarden as well as serve as a Warden as he always would
be. During his time guiding new Wardens, one began to call him Brightfur
and this made Cerrnal think of what he would like to be known as in the
world beyond just the Sunwarden. Cerrnal was incredibly proud of his work
and the choices he made, so he determined he would make another. He
decided that he would take up a name for himself, and become known as
Cerrnal Sunbright to the world, a nod to the bright white fur that covered
his body and marked him as one who was not of the shadows as most of his
guild was.
