Description
Your eyes look upon a man, you estimate slightly over six feet tall, clad
in a large robe made of tanned brown leather. The robe looks quite worn
but it bares some elaborate designs that seem to be burnt into the leather.
Comletely covering the hood of the robe are beautiful swirling tribal lines
that look as though they represent storm-clouds. Beneath the clouds going
down half the length of the robe are many falling raindrops and a few jagged
lightning bolts. The bottom of the robe has depictions of trees, mountains
and shorelines where crashing ocean waves meet the land. Although the robe
looks nothing like new, as if it must be quite old, these very decorative
images are deeply charred into the leather and can be seen quite clearly
against the contrasting light-brown color the leather itself. From beneath
the hood of the robe you see many dreads of long jet-black hair, and behind
the mess of tangled black hair you can the face of a human man with brown
sun-tanned skin and emerald green eyes. You are unsure what to make of him,
and even though his face is somewhat hidden behind his matted black hair,
he bares no facial hair to hide his forlorn and sorrowful expression. Many
necklaces hang down to his chest, baring a variety of small to large animal
teeth. Perhaps they came from the beasts who's blood can still be seen
smeared on his axe, hammer, and shield.
Role
Stormstrikers religion and deity

(This is a greenways religion.)
The Stormstrikers are a strong and fierce line of druids. It is their duty
to call the wrath of the storms to return the people and the structures
of civilized world back to the earth from which they came. Their close
bond with the Spirit of the three storms empowers them with the abilities
required to fight in such a wars that the armies of civilization do battle.
They embrace the spheres of chaos, destruction, and of course the sphere
of storms. The storms are by far the most chaotic and destructive of
nature's forces. There are three types of storms that can take place.
Those of earth and fire, like when the earth quakes opening the ground or
when the fire erupts from below. Those of the skies like that of fierce
lightning bolts or devestating tornadoes. Those of the seas like a flash
flood or powerful tsunami wave. When a druid of the Stormstriker line has
reached an age and aquired enough wisdom, they are ready to speak with the
Spirit of the three storms itself.
Stormstrikers give prayer and worship to the three storms anywhere that
natural life is present, but there are two specific places where they can
go when they are ready to ask to speak with the Spirit itself. There is
a place near the side of a mountain of Thar-Eris where the waves forever
crash against the earth, the winds forever howl, and the skies are forever
lit up with lightning. The other place is a totem placed by the Ancients
themselves, in one of the many seas of Thar-Eris where it forever breaches
the water's surface. It is these two places where one may, if found to be
worthy, see the three storms come together as an entity and ask for the
storm's empowerment.
Ceth Raindancer

Although the Stormstrikers care for the natural world and wish life be
granted to all it's creatures, they tend not to like the races of man and
woman who lean too far toward good or evil. They understand very well
that light and dark coexist in nature, and that a true balanced world
requires both for the lifeforces to flow. But it is the blind belief in
either side from which the ideals of civilization and war are rooted.
This hatred burned brighter than most within Ceth. Since he was of an age
old enough to begin learning the teachings of his people, his hatred was
something he was just barely able enough to control. He hated that his
people lived in lands far off on the edge of the world away from where
any travelers dare venture, and felt it made his people cowards who hid.
It was obvious to his people he would some day venture to see for himself
the horrors that civilization has done to a completely pure and natural
world. It was his destiny to find a place to speak with the great Spirit
of the three storms, and ask to devote his life in the return of Thar-Eris.
Of all the races, he hated the dwarves most. He blamed their greed which
accelerated the ways of civilization. Digging and excavating the earth
in search the minerals they coveted most, creating currency of coins and
setting a strong sense of avarice in people who could otherwise live wild
and free in the embrace of nature. He refers to them as "false storms"
after learning the extend what their mining abilities could do. He felt
it was a betrayal to nature itself to carve out the inside of a mountain,
for it was only the natural storms of earth that should choose to open
itself to such extent.
The anger and hatred often grew within Ceth so much that it begin to cloud
his his mind and hinder his thoughts. He found a great calm by dancing,
calling to the storms for the soothing rains. This was how he earned the
name "Raindancer" from his people. Although dancing among the rainstorms
eased his mind and spirit, he felt the need to leave the secluded lands
that his people lived in comfort. So he ventured out to witness the rest
of the world, and seek out the Spirit of the three storms and ask it to
bestow upon him the storm's powers so that he may aid Thar-Eris's return.
The Stormstrikers

In the begining of That-Eris's existance, all of her children roamed free.
The cycles of nature flowed as unhindered as the wind blows. There were no
threats to world or those born to inhabit it. To ensure none would stand
against the cycles to defile the natural ways, the druids were given birth
to oversee that the world and life among the world were not threatened.
The druids were the ones to ensure Thar-Eris remained unspoiled, and were
empowered with the Spirits of nature and with it many powers to fight the
defilers and to preserve nature's lifeforce. There were many differences
between the druids, separated into different "clans" one might say. Some
could shift into the many shapes of any of Thar-Erir's children. Some
felt the energy of the plantlife and in ways they could "speak" to them.
Some were great hunters and moved unseen and unheard among the terrain,
striking upon their prey with great force and pinpoint accuracy. There
were many different groups of druids who's purpose was to preserve and to
protect Thar-Eris, should any forces arise to threaten it. This story is
about one of the druids who had a close affinity with the most chaotic of
natures forces, none other than the storms of the earth the skies and the
seas. They were known as the Stormstrikers, and it was their duty to bring
the mightiest of natures wrath upon the threats of civilization. It was
unfortunate to say that the druids were not successful, as more and more
races were intrudoced to Thar-Eris, and more and more immortals rose to
power to play with the world as if it were their own personal chessboard.
Many of the first druids were either killed or they fled to hide in hopes
to preserve the ancient ways in their children so they might one day rise
again to do away with the burden of civilization. The ancient ways may
have been forgotten to most, and the world renamed "Thera" among those who
call themselves "civilized", but the Ancient Spirits did not leave. Thar-
-Eris shall rise again, and the many remaining Stormstrikers would make
sure that they would be ready when the the call of the storms howls again.
Seeking the Spirit
Added Tue Feb 23 16:30:31 2016 at level 17:
Ceth explored the lands that he had only heard of from his people. He
ventured wherever his feet could carry him and beyond. Sometimes what he
found brought him joy, and other time despair, but every new place gave
him wisdom and insight to what the world had become. Then one day while
exploring a mountain which lay between desert land and vast ocean he came
upon what his people told of in their stories. He had found the forever
churning storm, and there he saw its destructive fury and the chance of
new life that births from its aftermath. He had found his place to call
out to the Spirit of the three storms.
After some time of his calls going unanswered, a thunderous voice spoke
to Ceth. The God Jormyr himself had heard the mortals voice, and after
some talk Jormyr offered Ceth a taste of the god's powers. Though he was
very much grateful for the offer Jormyr extended, he felt it in his own
spirit that he must decline. His faith was with the Spirit of the storms
and he felt turning away from that would be giving into weakness, just as
his people did long ago when they decided to take to hiding away from the
forces of civilization instead of standing against it. Even in fear of
angering one of the mighty Gods of this world, he declined the offer.
Some time later, the Guildmaster of the Druid's Circle in the Holy Grove
spoke with Ceth, asking him of his learnings. After hearing of Ceth's
conversation with Jormyr, the Guildmaster of the Circle told him to stay
strong with the path he was on. Ceth found the guildmaster's words of
wisdom refreshing, and reminded him to keep his faith in the storms.
Some days later, while giving prayer and dancing to storms, Ceth's voice
was answerd, and this time by the Spirit of the storms itself. Together
they spoke, and after some of the Spirit's questions were answered it
gave Ceth a task. "When you can cause the sands of the desert to whirl
as the simoon. And you have brought the fury of the storm upon one of
civilization that tries to tame us. Come back to us and we shall embrace
you." Ceth thanked the Spirit, and with the wind on his back he went on
to do just as the thunderous clamor of voices of the Spirit had tasked him.
