Description
A fatherly figure, clothed in heavy armor stands before you.
The relative size of his body is hard to decipher because of
some of his more bulky pieces of armor, but he seems well muscled.
The armor's bulky nature seems not to hinder his quick movements.
Reaching mid-back, his light-brown hair is tied back behind him.
Soft features adorn his countenance, thin eyebrows, a small nose,
thin slightly-pink lips, The only exceptions being that his cheekbones
are prominent and smile lines adorn his clean shaven face..
Almond shaped eyes of amber survey about him whenever possible.
The marking of an open hand is etched into the back of his left hand.
Role
The symbol of Selric.

*Written in a worn leather journal that has survived the ages*
This mark upon my hand, for all of my life it has been there.
The monks placed it upon me at an early age.
Until now I have not even thought upon it.
Lady Baerinika knew what the symbol meant.
It was the symbol of the ancient Lord Selric.
But did my people worship this ancient lord?
It is unclear to me now.
The elders claim it is just a symbol of charity.
I see a deeper meaning in it.
Speaking more with Lady Baerinika about it,
she revealed that Selric was a protector.
A quality that I have picked up since joining
the guild of paladins.
I perhaps his symbol is a sign that I am to be
more of a protector than a hunter of the jaguar.
These signs are hard to ignore.
I will have to discuss it with Lady Baerinika.
I wish to serve her still, but perhaps I was
not meant to.
The Monastery.

I returned to my village this last eve.
Searching for my sensei's texts I stumbled across something
I had not noticed before. A small book, hidden behind others,
the text was written in his scrawl. It was a journal.
A journal of major events in his life.
The events of Enesturi's life were sorrowful until his marriage.
He was wed to a monk named Sophia, their days were happy together.
They were born a son and named him Cormindon.
I realized that I was raised by my mother and father without knowing it.
I had to find out who knew.
I spoke with the elders of our monastery.
They revealed to me they had known all along.
Sophia, my mother, had passed on while I was away.
Fallen in the defense of the monastery.
She had a grand funeral pyre, they told me.
For she had taken up leadership after my father had died.
This was the reason for our loss of fervor.
She did it out of respect and because she did not wish
to lose me as she did my father. She did so out of love.
It is this pure love that should be forever remembered.
For it was not cowardice or misdirection.
I realize that we cannot hide, but this small monastery was never
meant to be a group of Zealots.
Soon, we had come up with a plan for defense.
To protect this small haven of light.
I set the warriors back to giving children lessons.
Teaching them to fight in self defense,
not truly for the purpose of killing.
The elders asked me to lead our people.
But I had to refuse. All of Thera needed me, not just them.
But I will be there in spirit and return to teach the children.
About the Purity my father once sought.
And the Love my mother had shown.
Preservation

In my search for my path, I have come to a crossroads.
Both paths lead to the same place.
But they have different approches to reach this place.
Maran and squire
One by sword, lead by example, to track down the evil and destroy it.
It is a narrow path of blood and evil, yet their sword shines though the
dark.
Acolyte and scribe
Protecting these swords from the rigors of battle.
Restoring their mental, emotional, and Physical stability.
They are the teachers, spiritual guides, and protectors of the light.
The Elder Prophet asked about why I would choose the way of the sword.
I believed I was only a sword, that I was only good for one purpose.
To lead by example and bring purity back to my people, restoring their fallen
beliefs.
But the more he explained, the more I realized I did not need to be a sword
to vanquish evil. Just as I had learned from the Paladins that my shield
could too be a weapon to strike my foes, I have learned that I can still be
the guiding light to my people. I can still lead by example and fight for our
beliefs but also preserve what I fight so hard to establish.
I will do what my sensei failed to do long ago.
I will preserve the light forever in the hearts of our people.
To show them the light they once had known.
My goals must remain in my sight.
Awakening

Cormindon's role is that of Purity.
Purity in every meaning of the word.
Purity of mind, body, soul, and action.
This is what he strives for.
Growing up as a warrior monk, his childhood was a good one.
Eventhough an orphan, they treated him no differently
than the other monks. He was reared by an elven monk named Sophia.
He was raised as if her own. As far as he knew, he was her own.
The monks enlightened him to the ways of the world.
And while their view was askew by their separation from battle,
it served its purpose to enlighten and grant peace of mind to them.
For to train amongst themselves is one thing, but to engage in war
is entirely another.
The monks of Enesturi Monastery have lived for years hidden away
from the fields of combat. They believe that only when necessary
do they intervene. It is indeed rare when they decide to aid
the rest of humanity. With the passing of their founder,
Enesturi Ar'kuraum, the monastery had lost its vigor to fight
for the pure vision they had once held high. It has been nearly
twenty years since the passing of their esteemed leader.
It was here in the monastery that he learned of purity.
Not from the monks, but from the texts that Sensei Enesturi had
written before he died. The texts seemed to be filled with
an ancient wisdom. "Purity of mind must be attained before
purity of body, before purity of action. The first two
must be in balance before you are able to clearly act on the third."
The texts continued on about how to attain and maintain a cleansed
mind and body, but not until much later did they speak about
keeping a cleansed soul. It spoke of true tenants of a Paladin,
yet this monastery was far from that. Disturbed by the monasterys
fall from their own goals, Cormindon left to seek enlightenment
elsewhere.
He soon found himself on the river of Voralia, headed downstream
to the city. He found himself entering the paladins guild
as a squire to one of these holy knights. Cormindon learned
of the truths that the monks were hiding from. No one had even
heard of the monks since the fall of their esteemed leader.
Evil roamed about freely, yet there were still those who chose to fight it.
Cormindon took sword in hand to join these holy knights.
One final rite of entrance was required though.
A small academy, a rite of passage, Cormindon was now ready.
