Description
Before you stands a young gnome with pale skin. His hair is dark and looks
disheveled. He stands nearly three-foot tall, common among his kin, but
still short compared to humans. His arms are well muscled and his legs
appear strong and quick. Two scabbards for swords rise above his shoulder
blades, within easy reach of his arms. His eyes are a deep purple with a
reddish hue to the iris. His clothes are wrinkled and not of the finest
quality. His eyes sparkle but his facial expressions seem to change from
time to time. It often appears as if he is muttering under his breath.
As you look at him you notice that...

The Pen Changes Things Chapter 1
Added Mon Mar 17 22:35:57 2008 at level 50:
A small hut can barely be seen through the snow falling outside on the slopes
of these mighty frigid mountains. A warm fire crackles as the drafty
mountain air makes its way through the somewhat bare cabin. Near the light
of the fire a small figure has his head bowed over a piece of paper and a pen
is in his hand. The paper rests against what looks to be a shield, and the
figure is busy pouring over whatever it is he writes. A quick glance over
his shoulder reveals a fairly neat script. The story of a legend unfolding
on the paper before you. It reads...
The day started off like any other, beautiful and yet something stirred in
the air. A lone felar stood on a ridge overlooking the ruins of a once great
city. Two massive bears slept behind him at the entrance to a crude village.
He cocks his ear to the wind, listening for the change that seems
inevitable. He looks to his left at a massive giant standing at the entrance
to the village."What do you think old friend? Something truly seems amiss,"
says the felar. The giant turns to the felar and says "Aye, Great Warrior,
it does seem amiss." At that moment the skies opened up and a great war
could be seen raging in the heavens. The God of Magic, Twist, and the God of
Battle, Nimbus, fought over the changing of the way transmuters would
behave, splitting the guild in two.
Not long after this the world seemed to grow full of mysterious animals. They
were of many varieties, but they all were aggressive toward the felar and his
bears. It did not take word long to spread that the guild of transmuters had
split. No longer could they just disappear, but it now seemed many had learn
to take on the form of animals. The felar's bears were very troubled at
this, and were very angry. It did not take long for these "shapeshifters" to
rise in power among the cabals. Some of them even were given special forms,
like the wolverine and Yeti. The felar found himself attacked on every side
by the Empire and the Masters of Magic. The numbers of villagers under his
command waned but still he fought on. Countless times giving his life and
allow his bears to do the same in protection of the Destructor of Magic. It
finally came to pass that one-day his final death came at the hands of the
wolverine. Giving his last and ultimate breath at the feet of the
Destructor, Creon BloodClaw's name would go down in the history of the
village as one of the most courageous ever.
As the figure finishes writing he sighs a contended sigh and leans back to
see what he has written. He smiles to himself and puts the scroll back in
his bag. He then draws his sword and heads to face another day.
Patient Profile
Added Tue Mar 4 21:41:10 2008 at level 25:
Arkham Asylum Personality Inventory
----------------------------------------------
Patient Name: Dalisnik Silnitvib
Dormant Personality Name: "Nik"
Diagnosis: Dissociative Identity Disorder
Notes: Dalisnik was brought to Arkham at the request of his guildmaster from
the city of Galadon. The guildmaster of Galadon had noticed some peculiar
tendencies within Dalisnik, one of which calling himself "Nik" at times, and
other times using his full name. He made clear to us that at times when
being called "Nik," Dalisnik was overly aggressive and angry. Our own
guildmaster, Urdo, noticed some similar characteristics, but stated that this
mood seemed to be infrequent. After some digging and questioning we have
come to find that Dalisnik will not speak of the passing of his parents.
When mentioned he grows violent and aggressive, especially when speaking of
his mother. He is very calm though when speaking about the village and his
hero, Yevandr Framun. In fact, these things have a calming affect on
Dalisnik. We were unable to make direct contact with Yevandr Framun, may he
rest in peace, but we were able to get a letter from him telling a little bit
about the death of Dalisniks parents. It is clearly a disturbing topic, and
one that is understandably touchy. We have done some testing to determine to
what degree Dalisnik is affected by D.I.D.
Test Notes: We were able to secure some good paintings of Hillcrest and
Udgaard. Interestingly, Dalisnik has little reaction to the city of Udgaard
itself. It would seem he does not hold the entire populace of that city at
fault for what occurred to his parents. The painting of Hillcrest actually
showed notable affects on Dalisniks heart rate and mood. We then brought in
a local fire giant and duergar citizen, and again found that Dalisniks mood
did not change. Major change did occur however when we brought in some of
the local mage guildmasters. Dalisniks heart rate became very elevated and
he struggled against his bonds to the point of harming himself. An almost
feral snarl came over his lips and he began muttering and cursing to himself.
We were forced to request the aide of two extra monks to keep Dalisnik from
the mages when he tore loose of his bonds. We also found that Dalisnik did
not answer to his name at this time, and would not calm down until the mages
left the room.
Release Notes: We had no real cause to continue to hold Dalisnik as we
determined a severe hatred for mage kind. Upon his release we let Captain
Gishka know that we would ask that additional guards be placed around the
mage guilds of Arkham for the safety of everyone.
Additional Findings: We believe that any mage should use extreme caution around Dalisnik.
Even Balance Brings Change

It was a blustery day in Balator, the sun was shining through a cloudy sky,
but even its rays couldnt get the chill out of the air. The playground at
the orphanage was busy with kids playing and fighting with each other.
Dalisnik had found himself in a fairly angry mood that morning and so had
gone there to test his arm against other some other kids. They were a fairly
hearty lot, and up for a good scrap. Dalisnik found no short of chances to
learn his craft and challenge them as well. After a particularly hard battle
with blood coming from his nose and a myriad of other places, Dalisnik took a
moment to rest and regather himself. It was then that a "someone" walked
into the room, and the next thing he knew an icicle was piercing his left
thigh, and then another struck him in the head knocking him unconscious. He
awoke to find himself nude and feeling very odd at the Temple of the Moon in
Galadon. Gathering what sense he could he rose and quickly made his way down
the eastern road, trying to remember what had occurred and make sense of it.
As he arrived at his corpse he noticed a half-elf invoker standing over it,
named Asharin. When he bent to get his things, the half-elf turned to him
and said "Its nothing personal, Im just trying to maintain balance." With
those few words something inside of Dalisnik snapped and the only word that
could describe his mood was rage. Before this he had a special hatred of
necromancers and anti-paladins, as they had invaded his hometown and killed
his parents. If not for this invoker telling him, a gnome, that he was
killed to maintain "balance," well, we might have seen a different Dalisnik
Silnitvib. Instead as Dalisniks mind thought back to those horrid times,
and tried to understand the illogic of this attack, another personality was
formed to deal with these things. A personality who calls himself simply
"Nik" and is full of anger and rage.
Authors note: From here out, personal role entries will be written from the
view of one or the other personality.

Dalisnik just lays there, fear and terror welling up inside him as he tries
to make sense of everything in his head. Hours later his head hurts, and his
eyes sting from the tears that have streamed from them for the last few
hours. Night finally fades away as the sun rises and light again comes in
through the windows of the Silnitvib home. Dalisnik emerges from the small
home, a different look in his eyes. Everything has changed...everything.
It is at this time that Dalisnik sees him, a small figure almost like his
father, but darker. His eyes are filled with murder, and he has two axes in
his hands. He is just standing up from wiping a bloody axe on the dark cloak
of a large fire giant. As he turns to look at Dalisnik his face softens at
the sight of the dirty tear-streaked face of the boy. He quickly puts his
axes into loops along his belt and rushes over to Dalisnik. "Are you ok
boy?" the short figure asks him. Dalisnik shakes his head and the dust
covering his hair makes a small cloud around the boy. "Where are your
parents?" he asks. Dalisnik looks up at him and tears again begin to slide
down his cheek. "Oh. Oh!" the figure says, as a desire for violence is once
again evident in his countenance. "Im Yevandr Framun boy, Im sorry I was
too late for them, but they didnt all escape. Do you know anybody here who
can help you, or what would you like to do?" "I want to kill them all"
mutters Dalisnik. "I know the feeling boy, I know the feeling, but you are
young still. I know some people who will care for you until the time is
right. Will you come with me to Galadon?" "I will, but will you show me how
to use those?" Dalisnik says as he points to the axes. "Lad, where Im
taking you, you will learn how to use much more than just these."
And so it was, and so it is, how Dalisnik Silnitvib came to walk these paths.
Murder Changes Things - Part 2

The day had been great
able to go outside and run in the puddles with the other boys. He had
stomped, and tromped, and romped all day! He came home a muddy mess, but
even his mother wasnt upset about it. She smiled and told him simply to
"Take your things off right their Mister!" Into the bath she scooped her
young boy, and helped him scrub the dirty away. She made his favorite
sandwich of butter and mashed carrots. It had been a splendid day for
Dalisnik and his mother.
Dalisniks mood soured a bit when his father did not return home in time for
dinner. His mother was not upset, just said he must have had to work later
than he expected. She told Dalisnik that his job was very important.
Dalisnik knew that the Hillcrest Council couldnt have functioned without his
fathers help, or at least that is what his mother led him to believe. After
dinner they played his favorite game of slides and steps. It was late, but
his mother wouldnt let him stay up to greet his Father. She tucked him into
bed and sang some of his favorite songs. Her voice was so melodious that he
quickly fell fast asleep.
Dalisnik was awoken by loud bang as his father threw open the door to his
bedroom. "Son, dont be scared, but you need to come with me" his father
said as he scooped him out of his bed. Dalisniks eyes were wide with terror
as he saw the look on his fathers face. As they ran into his parents
bedroom he noticed his mother crying, and he was overcome with tears as well.
His father quickly set him down and went to one knee. Dablignik looked his
happens, you cant cry tonight, can you do that for daddy?" Dalisnik took
his hand and began to wipe his eyes as he said "Ill do anything for you
Daddy!" Dablignik hugs Dalisnik after hearing those words and quickly tells
him to hide under the bed, and not to come out until the morning, no matter
what.
A few moments later Dalisnik can hear a loud knocking coming from the front
door. He hears his father address someone in familiar tones, but he cant
really make out the words. The next thing he knows his parents are leading a
man into their bedroom and talking about money. His father tells the man it
will only be a moment as he heads over to the chest at the foot of the bed.
As his Father bends down he watches as the dark skinned man in dark clothing
points a finger at his father and utters the word "Die!" Dalisnik is
startled as his fathers lifeless body crashes to the floor right in front of
him, his lifeless eyes looking right into his sons. As his mother looks at
her husbands lifeless body she opens her mouth to scream, but a quickly
placed dagger opens her throat. She crumples to the floor atop her husbands
body in a final embrace. Dalisnik chokes back tears, but does not make a
sound. The dark figure leans down and wipes the blood from his knife on
Dalisniks mothers dress, then quickly exits the room extinguishing the
lights as he goes.
Murder Changes Things - Part 1

It was a gloomy evening in Hillcrest. The streets were damp with the
rainfall from the afternoons thundershowers. All of the hawkers had put
their items away for the evening and the streets were fairly empty. A blood
red moon shown over the top of the walls in the east, foreshadowing another
stormy day tomorrow. It had been a very wet spring for the Silnitvibs and
the rest of the populace of Hillcrest. The carrot farmers were ok with the
weather, as the moisture would surely mean a large crop this summer. As
Dablignik Silnitvib was making his way home from his job as a clerk for the
Hillcrest Council a raven flew right over his head. Dablignik shivered and
said a prayer against the evil this superstition spoke of. Dablignik
Silnitvib was not normally a superstitious man, but tonight was not a normal
night.
Dablignik sat all day in the council chambers as the Delegation from Udgaard
listened to the grievances of the Hillcrest Council. They were vile looking
men, mostly duergar and fire giants. They had no respect for the people who
supplied much of their produce. The Council of Hillcrest attempted their
best to voice their disagreement with the treatment they were receiving, but
even the delegation seemed not to listen, nor care. They actually cut off
talks a day early, and left muttering amongst themselves, and glaring at
everyone who looked at them wrong. The council had deliberated for a long
time after, talking about what might happen. None of it was good news to the
ears of Dablignik. He had a wife and young boy to look after. His boy,
Dalisnik was the joy of his life, and he regretted even being out this late
and missing his chance to put him to bed.
As he turned the corner to his street things just seemed too quiet. He
picked up the pace of his walking, but could not shake the eerie feeling he
had. He turned to look behind him and noticed something peculiar going on.
Down the street near the main gates all the guards were missing, but a tall
figure, that could only have been the Udgaardian Ambassador, was there. He
slipped something shiny from his pocket and moved to the small door in the
larger gate. Large men began pouring through the door, and Dablignik knew
they were under attack. Alarm cries went up immediately, but the town was
breached. He dropped his lap table and ran as hard as he could to his home.
Unfortunately, the tall ambassador from Udgaard had just turned his head to
see Dablignik drop his table and run. The ambassador immediately began
walking toward Dabligniks little home.
