Description
Pale skin marked by coarsely shaven black stubble, furrowed with careless
scabs and cuts of hair kept short by blunt edges when needed, sits above an
emaciated, thin pale face of this man, pale lips cracked and raw from the
dry tongue that darts on it anxiously. Bright, golden eyes are stretched
open in constant exultation, reaching out towards the crowds with the
slurred, coarse speech of a drunken dockyard prophet.
Role
Please, not the oath!

[This letter has been kept in a sealed, safe place, watertight. The grey,
ancient stones of the container are sealed to never let the elements touch it.
It's cared for as if exposure to any air would ruin everything.]
Darmy Baby,
Come back to us. We miss you. What happened when you were younger, that
misunderstanding, I'll be the first to admit that you didn't deserve that
weight on you. You were so unprepared for what happened to you and I want to
extend the olive branch of peace. Please, come back home to us.
These ideas of the Empire saving you, of a final last gasp of civilization,
rallied beneath the stony ramparts of the Imperial Lands, they're unhealthy.
You belong back here, with me. We only have each other in this world and I
want you to know that grudges are something that have no place between two
people who truly understand each other.
You're throwing away so much potential by joining the Empire and using this
fake act of some final battle that will save humanity. You don't believe it, I
don't believe it, and we both know that it's not true. I understand your hurt,
and the anger, the arguments we had. But please, just remember: Darmy Baby,
you aren't meant for this dangerous plot of yours.
Those cruel treatments in the Arkham Sanitarium don't make who you are today.
Just remember that and always think towards the future.
Those who love you,
[The bottom of the stone is noticeably porous and through it seeps grey sea
foam, obliterating the signature through the salt and constant wash.]
You're Here to Get Better

[Notes from the Arkham Sanitarium]
Patient was admitted following an attack on (by on what all accounts appears
to be) a random passerby. City guards were summoned and arrested the patient
who was foaming at the mouth and screaming incoherently.
After being transferred here and left in a cell, he entered a state of
intermittent catatonia with episodes lasting up to 48 hours. Attending
invokers were unable to use shock therapy to remediate this state and the
patient seemed resistant to further shock treatment when in periods of
ambulation.
(I send my heartfelt condolences to the invoker's family following the last
treatment. The patient will no longer be allowed near mirrors.)
Further treatments of ice baths, hypnosis, bloodletting, and burr holing
proved equally fruitless with the patient growing more and more agitated at
what he refers to as 'The Anti-Tone'. Common religious delusions of a looming
apocalypse are present when the patient is agitated but signs of lucidity and
calmness are reported when music is present. Encouraging his aptitude in music
theory seems to have a sedating effect and the patient often reports a desire
to become healthy again when he is calm. We have granted him further freedoms
including walks through the building and garden, paper and pens for music
notation, and rudimentary musical instruments that would be difficult to use
to cause harm.
The patient is often found staring out the westward window of the building
while writing odes to what he refers to as 'the last, safe place'. The
patient's release will be impossible until these delusions are removed but I
remain optimistic about further treatment. He will be given further privileges
as his prognosis brightens.

For production into evidence re: the murder of Doctor Sylblad.
Further down, it is written: "Is it true he used his TEETH?"]
