Description
Standing a bit shorter than your average human, this slightly disgruntled
looking man stands before you slightly hunched over. You can't quite tell if
that is his natural posture or if he's purposefully hiding something from you
within the depths of his smirched robes. They are clean enough for the
average traveler, but small holes and tears suggest that he doesn't just sit
around waiting for life to pass him by. Deep brown hair that flows down to
his shoulders may be the only thing illustrious about him. Dull brown eyes
match his hair as they peer out from his brow.
Role
Who I am
Added Thu Jun 18 00:46:29 2009 at level 29:
Dasulkai Kalistarro, son of Istadael and Jaenni Kalistarro. My mother was a
changeling and my father was a dark conjurer. Neither were too popular with
the mainland warriors, so they moved to the southern continent when Jaenni
was pregnant with me. When I was but a few years old, my father and I had
just come back from a little trip to the jade mountains and found the village
ablaze and my mother's bloody, lifeless corpse sprawled out in a pile of
corpses, compiled of the neighbors and livestock on the farm. My father,
bound not to give up on my mother, would not admit that she was gone and
sought alternative methods of revival. In an act of grief, he decided it was
wise to attempt to seize a demon from another plane and rip its life-essence
away to instill it in my mother, thinking that this might somehow bring her
back to life. Between not even being a master in his craft, and being
blinded, unable to see past his emotions, summons a devil without taking the
necessary precautions. As if the death of my mother wasn't traumatizing
enough for a four year old, I sat and watched as my father was consumed by
the arch-devil and dragged back to the negative plane that it came from. So I
found a wheel-barrow and hauled my mother's lifeless corpse to Seantryn Modan
and have her given a proper burial.
It was at that point in my life that I pledge to never rest until I grew
powerful/knowledgable enough in the dark arts to ressurect my mother so that
we could be a family again. Perhaps seeking immortality through undeath, I
would be able to garner enough knowledge or discover my own process of
bringing my mother back from the grave. Secretly, I despise my minions;
zombies, ghouls, and golems. They represent my fear of failure, that I am not
learned enough or my mother might come back as a walking, rotting puppet
should I fail.
Fearing the same fate as my father, though never externally, I also began my
studies of the Prophecy of the Eternal Night and the other-worldly creatures.
To learn more, I would seek to immerse myself in the lore and soak in all the
knowledge I could. Perhaps if I could harvest enough souls along the way, I
would be able to barter for a secure place when the portals would break open,
unleashing the Eternal Night upon Thera.
The Eternal Queen

Knowledge will never satiate my hunger. There is not enough time nor physical
strength to carry on living to consume all there is to know and I feel
incomplete without it. Though this is just an alterior motive to seeking my
undeath, it's still a large part of the why. Knowledge is my power, because
with it you can bend anyone to your will or simply snap them in half for
disobedience; it is a win-win situation. Perhaps a bit misguided without a
King or Queen to serve, I still know what I want and will do anything in my
power, or someone else's, to get it.
I have heard of one such Queen that perhaps I could worship and appeal to for
guidance on my path to my ultimate desires.
