Description
Perched atop a bulging neck sits a giant boulder of a head with
two vacant charcoal eyes, a large bulbous nose, and a gaping smile.
When combined with his scraggly orange curly hair, the first
thing that comes to your mind is a giant jack-o-lantern.
His onyx pocked skin is hard and weathered looking from years in the wilds.
With a strapping physique, he stands 10 feet 6 inches tall with brawny
arms and massive tree-trunk legs. You see very little metal armor on his
filthy nasty looking body. You do notice several different weapons
from which he can wield.
Role
Deevak Chapter 1
Added Fri Jul 5 15:07:58 2013 at level 17:
Deevak was sired in the slave pits of Arangird. He never knew
his parents as they were dead within a few years of his birth.
Deevak lived in the slave pits for the first 90 years of his life.
If anyone has not been to or heard of the slave pits of Arangird,
then they do not know that it is one of the fiercest, most
savage, kill or be killed, places in all of Thera. It was in these
slave pits that Deevak learned to hunt. Deevak learned early
the ways of searching for his own food. He learned to blend
into the caverns of the slave pits of Arangird.
These first 90 years taught Deevak one important thing.
Nothing can escape death. Deevak has seen death in all
its forms. He has seen a slow death caused be diseases and
poisons. He has seen slaves beheaded for talking out of turn.
He has seen men killed for the food of others. Deevak has
even done this himself. Deevak has a deep respect for death.
Deevak understands death and understands that neither he
nor anything can escape it. Death is a natural part of the
cycle of nature and death is the part of that cycle that Deevak
understands best.
Deevak Chapter 2
Added Fri Jul 5 15:09:12 2013 at level 17:
Shortly into his 90th year, Deevak started looking for a way to
escape the slave pits of Arangird. For Deevak had survived
longer than almost any other slave and the duergars started
to have a measure of respect and understanding of Deevak.
With that being said, he still was a slave and though he was
treated better than most slaves. He was still a slave and not free
to live and do as wish. To better understand, you have to
undertstand that Deevak is not one to always follow orders, nor
is he one that desire randomness and chance in his life. Deevak
acts in whatever manner gets the job done in the most expedious
manner. Deevak does not care about the balance of order and chaos
he just lives within the world to get his goals achieved however they
they are best accomplished. So one day Deevak was working in the
caverns, when he heard a huge battle raging in the duergar palace.
Deevak used his skills with the caverns to sneak to the palace
and what he saw was a large crusade of paladins that had come
to rid the world of the duergars. At first Deevak thought the paladins
were doing this to free the slaves, but Deevak soon learned differently.
For more than once Deevak obversed the paladins killing other fire
giant slaves or killing drow slaves while leaving the one elf slave alone.
While this angered Deevak, he sensed an opportunity and was able
to flee from the slave pits and Arangird using the savage techniques
he had learned in 90 years in the pits.
Deevak Chapter 3
Added Fri Jul 5 15:10:55 2013 at level 17:
Deevak wondered the underdark caverns for the next 8 years. He
learned so much being on his own. He learned to do more with less
he learned to use the caverns to his benefit and learned metal was
not needed to survive. Soon he was shunning it for Deevak
had become very self-reliant. Soon Deevak found a path out of
the underdark. He surfaced on a path near the river north of Voralian
City. He made his way to the city and thought of staying for a while, but
soon found the self-righteousness of the city. They hated his kind.
They shunned any that they thought were evil. Deevak left the city
after only half of a year. He soon found a man in a grove
that he spoke at length with. This man offered to train Deevak
as he indicated Deevak had the beginning of a good ranger. The
guildmaster said he should take advantage of his 98 years living in caves
and taught him to be caverndweller ranger. Next he saw that Deevak,
made do with very little. The guildmaster save the fierce fiery nature
and trained him in the ways of a savage. From time to time Deevak
returns to speak with this man for there is always more to learn.
Eventually, he made his way to the merchant city of HamsahMutaz.
While the reliance on coins disgusts Deevak, he has made HamsahMutaz
and the surrounding caves like the water filled cavern his home.
At least in HamsahMutaz, he is just another person. He is not judged
evil be everyone. While one day he hopes to move his home
to the wilds, HamsahMutaz will have to do for now.
Lastly, there are a few important points to know about Deevak. He
hates duergars for obvious reasons. He has learned of the outlanders
and seeks to be among them and fight for Thar-Acacia, though he has
much to learn about Thar-Acacia. He is very sensitive about his
intelligence. Especially, when encountered with the smarter races
of Thera. He feels stupid compare to them. Deevak in the end
is not that complicated. He is however, very blunt and very savage
in his ways.
