Description
This small creature is certainly a gnome. He has a stumpy body, only
about four feet tall. He is thin, but muscular, looking capable of
wielding weapons are large as he is. His skin is flushed and pink
particularly around his nose. He has a round head that has a massive
nose the size of his fist dead in the center. A pair of cracked lips make
up his ever-smirking mouth. He has large saucer blue eyes and a shaggy
mess of silver hair that falls from his head chaotically. He has large
protruding mutton-chops that wave out from the side of his face wildly.
His forehead has various nicks and small scars upon it, and one massive
healed gash can be seen on his chin.

A Tactical Life.

Doryur was raised in a small gnomish town and learned the art of war at
a young age. His down was under constant siege by goblins and even orcs,
it was required that the young learned to fight to defend their home.
He grew to embrace the art of combat very young, and he understood his
physical limitations, always trying to outsmart and outwit his opponents.
The goblins as a whole made it easy, they were dimwitted but the moment
you grew cocky or arrogant they'd eat you for lunch.
His father was in charge of the defense of his village, and old retired
warrior, he couldn't fight in the field any longer but his teachings and
sound tactics kept the village safe from transgressions.
Doryur began to wander out of the village often in his young adult years,
learning the surrounding area, visiting Hillcrest and learning from them
as well. He was surprised to see the art of magic prosper in Hillcrest,
it was not something he was accustomed to at home, nobody cast magic and
it was just the odd traveller they encountered who wielded it.
Doryur became friends with many in Hillcrest and even had some of their
leaders visit their village to provide advice. Hillcrest was
magnificently defended and any idea of a goblin incursion seemed
ridiculous. The leaders returned to the town and told Doryur their
village was at great risk.
They more or less took over the defenses of the village, pushing his own
father aside and instituting magical warning systems and teaching the
young to wield magic. It would end in utter disaster.
Lessons from the Dead.

But the goblins were clever and learned to avoid such detections, they
were careful around magic and the gnomes grew lazy and arrogant.
An attack was waged and without the clever tactics of his father and an
ill-prepared populace the village was quickly over run.
Doryur escaped with his life but lost everything else. He cursed his kin
in Hillcrest and wandered the land in a deep depression. He began to work
as a hired mercenary, praying for death to come in battle, but it never
did.
He grew hateful and weary of his kin overall, but moreso of the mages who
led to the death of all he loved. He vowed revenge on them and in time
the way to do so became clear.
He decided to join the battleragers and do all he could to remove the
taint upon not only his own people, but the world itself.
The choice came to become to choose a path in the village, and unlike the
masses who embraced their anger without thought, Doryur decided he would
bring that into check and live with an understanding and patience like
his father did, all the while embracing tactics and fighting with
intelligence.
He will never let himself or his friends fall into the trap of magic
again. Only rely on yourself and never relent in combat.
The Challenge Ahead.

The rites are before me and with them the greatest challenge i've faced.
Wise Panmorne has spoken to me and guided me in what I must do to be
successful in them and in my life as a battlerager. There are so many
berserkers around me and i cannot doubt their power but I want to show
them there is another way to succeed. The way my father taught, of
tactics and careful execution.
In the end, I know I will be better for it, though the desire to help the
village as my father did is strong. I have to wonder what clever
challenges the wise old man will have in store for us. It will be a day
I'll remember forever certainly.
My quest for destroying magic goes well, I've fought many and the sense
of battle my father and Panmorne have instilled in me goes a long way to
keeping me focus. Hopefully I'll be able to pass this sense of focus to
my fellow villagers as well. There is so much to do.
I've been focusing on learning my enemies as Panmorne has taught,
speaking to them and learning of what drives them to their foulness. It
is difficult to stomach sometimes, but learning the motivations of these
creatures helps me to understand them. I will continue this in hopes I
yield tangible results in the near future.
One thing is certain, I'll continue to purge Thera of the vermin that
infests it!
