Description
Before you stands a duergar of normal stature. Standing halfway between four
and five feet tall this duergar looks about himself with an air of confidence
and arrogance. He is dressed well with his armor fitting precisely and his
outerwear unwrinkled. Beneath the layer of his clothing you sense strength
flowing through his muscles. His skin is the color of the deepest ebony and
his eyes are like onyx jewels with a hint of red about them. His eyes and
face give a look of anger as a sneer can be seen upon his lips.
His hair, though once dark, has almost all turned gray with age.

Draktel feels like a lost child, or perhaps a forgotten one at times. He
remembers often his talks with his Father younger in life, but wonders where
his Father has gone now. In his dreams he has glimpses of another life, of
one below the lands, but those are long gone. Lost in a haze of anger and
blood. He wonders what has happened to the voice that whispered to him
often. He wonders if he is pleased with the myriad of people who have died
by his sons hand. He has tried to live by his tenets, often at times
finding death because he would not give in, and would not break his Fathers
trust.
He did learn a good lesson today in vengeance. Long ago, when he was just a
young priest in the Empire, strong and full of fight, he was slain by a
group, only to be looted by a young thief. That young thiefs name was
Myrakie, a young felar who could not be touched, but thought returning a few
pieces of gear would save her from death later. However, she failed to see
that by stealing even some from this duergar he would remember her. This day
he found he was able to harm her, and harm her he did. Though, he does not
believe taking equipment a good enough for of punishment, he has vowed to
hunt her again and again until she understands something greater than whining
about death. Until she understands the true price of justice.
From Below

The Duergar are a race that thrives on cunning and deception, on strength and
cruelty. The Duergar for many years now have been fighting for the Kingdom
of Mortorn. Long have the mountain mongrels continued to stop them from
taking what should be theirs. Many a mongrel has been taken as a slave, and
beaten until he submitted. The Duergar society, though cruel and unyielding
know what it means to have order. They rule with the strength of their wits
and their arms. Unlike the pansy-sniffers of the overworld, the Duergar
dont allow the weak to rule, but only the strong will survive.
It was from this society that Draktel Surienth has come to bring justice to
the overworld. Long have the Duergar of Yzekon and the underdark seen the
direction of the Empire. It is to this Empire that Draktel has come to bring
strength and order, vengeance and anger. Too long have the sun-kissers,
mountain mongrels, and pansy-sniffers had their free run and chaotic reign
over the lands. It is time for the Duergar to take their rule above ground
as well.
Draktel knows that he will start young and will bide his time to obtain his
right as a ruler of Thera. He will seek the Father of Anger and seek his
blessing as one who understands the necessity of cruelty. All other priests
who do not serve the Father of Anger shall come to see his power and
recognize his might. There are no others before him.
Rebirth
Added Wed Aug 2 20:28:45 2006 at level 11:
Draktel remembers very little of the meeting he had with his Father. He only
remembers the pain and final ending of it. The rebirth he had with clarity
of purpose. He would seek to gain in power and take the High Seat of the
Empires priestly sect, and then on toward the throne. In his path toward
bringing true order and justice to the lands stand those of the light and
those of the wilderness. They will be destroyed and made slaves as they
should be. The Imperial world could always use another hand to build its
beautiful buildings and roads. What irony it will be to put those rangers to
work cutting trees to make homes for the citizens of the Empire.
He was reborn for greatness, and all will give praise to his Father.
